The rocket ship and airplanes are a nice touch but it smells so bad. We left after 10mins

Giant concrete airplane and two rocketships for the kids to play on. All of these main features were updated within the last 6 years and now have new paint and the rockets are much safer now. There is also a smaller rocket for kids under 5 to play on. Love unique parks like this, it seems most new parks just have the same plastic play structures copy and pasted. These are much cooler and creative. State college still seems to have a lot of homeless people and they do hang out at this park. I would not bring your kids to the bathroom here. read more

I love playgrounds, and Boysen Park is super cool! The airplane and spaceship make this playground special.

I go in the back side of the actual park so I guess it is still called Boysen Park? Not the best park in the world but it's right next to my house. I like coming here early in the morning to go running or walk the doggie. Nice area to take your dog for a jog. There is an oval shaped side walk that you can run on and I believe it is 4 rounds = 1 mile. There is a jungle gym for the kiddies although when I go super early in the morning, there are some homeless people sleeping on there -__-. The only think I dislike is the side walk gets so wet and muddy when the sprinklers come on. Other than that, nice open grass field for those who like to play soccer. This park is awesome! It's clean and has lots of play area to keep my infant happy for two hours! There are two rockets one with the more intense slides and climbing area for the big kids. There's a smaller area for younger kids with two slides with room for a parent to accompany their LO to teach them how to use the slides properly. There are also to swing area for kids to play in. One for the older kids and one for the younger kids. There's a jungle gym for the little one to climb safely. There's a little rocket that they can sit on that they can bounce around. The star of the park is the giant jet, that kids and adults climb on. read more

I can't believe I'm the first to review this park in Anaheim! Are there any parks yelped in Anaheim? oh shit, I think I might yelp all of em so I can be da first! N-E-wayz, this park is bunk. It's always been a little sketch. I think this was the first park I ever smoked pot at with some of da cholas I was trying to kick it with too. This park is usually known by all the locals as "DA AIRPLANE PARK" because there's a real life airplane cemented into the middle of it for all the children to play in and all the cholos to tag on. Wow. As happy I was to come here from when I was a kid, I was equally happy to leave once I let my children play for a short while. The padding is coming off the floor leaving nasty looking spots exposing the tire material. The airplane is beat up bad. It needs to be repainted. Please repaint; I will volunteer my time; seriously. The cockpit smelled like urine; of course little hoodlums need to mark their territory. Pee is certainly the way to mark. They don't just mark with urine, they also didn't have paper at home so they used the playground as a canvas. It's not lullaby writing either; oh no, it's things like "B!%CH I MIGHT"...Really, that's what your mind told your hand to write. I loved this park as a kid and would like to return to this park, but only if they make some serious updates. If I must be upfront, I won't return till I see the ratings on Yelp go to a 4 at the minimum. But who am I? Just some guy writing a bad review because I'm mad at someone or had a bad experience. Thus park has gone down. The homeless people are all over and it doesn't really feel safe. I wish the city of Anaheim would restore the park. I am guessing that would take too much money. I'm glad the police were there watching I've things. The bathroom stalls did not have doors. Just wonderful! I recommend finding another park for your kids. read more

A little sketchy for my taste. I come here with g/f's siblings and every time i come here, there are questionable people every time i go. Not the best park in the OC but a good one for the kids, you just gotta watch em reaaalllly close Beautiful model airplanes and huge playground for kids. Very huge space for kids to run around. A very busy street right next to the park, so make sure kids dont run off onto the streets. read more

Dirtiest park I've ever been to. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. Beyond any thing you have ever seen or imagined. This looks to have become a homeless encampment with the unflushable toilets left for one year. Get your act together City of Anaheim. These could be beautiful baseball fields, but not for families due to the lack of restrooms. read more

I remember playing at this park more than a few times as a child back in the late 60s and 1970s, and I never forgot "The Airplane Park." The plane (an actual US Navy Grumman F9F Cougar from around 1954, by the way) was encased in shotcrete (aka gunite, or more specifically a cement/latex glue mix) 1967 due to the condition of the plane deteriorating from the extensive wear and tear from kids playing on it (which presented some hazards, like worn metal edges and protruding rivets), but it didn't diminish our enjoyment of the plane at all. Us kids enjoyed it immensely! It was initially gray, then later painted a muted yellow, and now it looks terrific, much more like it originally looked when it was brand new! Stay clear of this park. At first glance, it may look nice, but homeless people that stay there threaten, and follow you. One particular group of 3 men and one women, sit at a picnic table in the back of the park by the tennis courts. I was just walking by when one man threatened and came after me for no reason. I had to try to get away as fast as I could as his friends kept calling at him as he was chasing me, saying, " Ryan, don't do anything stupid". It was very frightening. Unbelievable, that a women can't simply walk in a public park without being threatened. read more

Way cool when we were young and then the real life airplane (jet fighter) had to be cemented up. Too many kids being kids and parents not setting rules or watching them, hence hurt kids. The rest of the play area has a space theme and a rocket ship, what is not to love about space? We walk the dogs here, always bike or run through at night. I have to say that I would never come here without the Mr. or before him the dad. Not a great place after the lights go out from the baseball games but still one of my favorite parks. read more

Pretty run down and old. Play equipment was refurbished 3 years ago...but kids have just ravished it. Unfortunately being over taken my homeless men and their animals. Good little park to take the kids for a spell. Swings and climbing apparatus for the kids, benches in the shade for mom and dad. Bathrooms are nearby. WATCH your kids, a few vagrants and weirdos noted. Nice baseball field just across the fence. read more

Such an awesome park. If they ever think about getting rid of the historic airplane then this park is getting a one star. I'm glad they put a modern tower to replace the old one but I do wish they had just restored the original rocket ship tower instead of replace it but it's legendary from the airplane alone read more

I had passed by this park a million times and not until I had a child did I start coming here sporadically. The park has gone thru some renovations and the old playground was remodeled a few years ago. The jet was taken away for a bit too I belive. Now there is a small play area with a few swings, bouncy frogs or something and a small shuttle for the smaller kids. There is a bigger shuttle for the 5+ crowd with climbing walls on the side and spiral poles that can be dangerous if unsupervised or you have clumsy kids. There is another set of swings for the older kids. The play area can get busy right after school. I have been here on the weekends & there isn't much room with only a few benches & tables. Its a nice little park but for no more than an hour worth of play. I wouldn't recomend trying to do a birthday party here as its too small. read more

This is my kids all time favorite park. Between the life size jet plane and the 3-story rocketship playscape, there couldn't be a better place to spark my sons' imaginations. They oscillate between fighting air battles to exploring the cosmos. It's over an hour drive from home but they still ask about going when they're in the mood for a trip to a park. Whenever we are in the OC, it's almost a guarantee we will make a detour to visit. read more

I don't know what the story is with the jet fighter I read about that kids can play on, I came to take pictures of it and it's either gone or it just wasn't anywhere in obvious sight. When I walked near the playground stuff I saw no jets. As far as the rest of the park, it's decent. It's about medium sized, peacefulish, seemed to have a lot of random people around but it wasn't packed or anything. A nice park, just nothing special. read more
