We called for a estimate for a neighbor's tree that was hanging over our pool. They scheduled the appointment within a couple days. The night before the appointment the limb broke and landed, dangling in our pool. Mike showed up, early, gave us the estimate and scheduled a crew to come take care of the situation same say. Henry and crew showed up, early and completed all the work timely and with complete professionalism. We plan on using BP for our own tree in our front yard. I got quotes from about 5 different companies to have my tree removed in my front yard. This quote was not only the best quote I received, but the guy who came out was actually a knowledgeable tree guy. Some of the guys, showed up in a pick up truck, and looked they just cut down trees on the side. This was a big tree, and although I wanted a good price, I also wanted to make sure I was hiring the right company, because the tree had big limbs that hung over my roof, and could of easily messed my house up, If not done correctly. The day they showed up to cut the tree down, they had it cut down and completely removed, in about and hour. Very fast. Then about a hour or so later, another guy from the company showed up with the stump grinder. He had the stump ground down in about a half hour. My only complaint, is that they left all of the stump grindings. Now in fairness, this is common, and I mis understood what they said about the stump grindings. I thought that they backfilled as much of the grindings that they could into the hole where the stump was and then hauled the rest of the grindings away. Well, what they actually do, is backfill as much as they can into the hole, but still leave the rest. Like I said, it was an mis understanding. I had to hire another guy for a couple hundred bucks to come dig it all out and haul it away. I would of had to do that with any other company that I would have used as well. So for anyone looking to have a stump removed, make sure that if you don't want to deal with the grindings, that you also get a quote from them to have the grindings hauled away. read more

BP came out and took down a very large Ash in our front yard and trimmed three of our Oak trees in the backyard, removing an old dead vine that covered one of them. While the work was done well, they did drag the huge vine scraps along the side of our house scraping our vinyl siding, instead of breaking the vines down into manageable pieces. They also broke our hose storage box which is not a big deal, but an apology would have been nice. They also did negotiate with us on price, lowering the cost because we kept all the large trunk pieces for firewood. The workers were very nice and cut the rounds into manageable pieces for us to use on our splitter, so we didn't have to do that ourselves. Overall, for the price I would say it was a good job. They were not perfect, but they got the job done. read more

We got 3 quotes from companies to take down our 60 year old elm tree that was dying. They were the lowest price by half. In the end, the tree fell over from all the storms onto our house so we needed emergency service. With emergency service, the cost pretty much doubled but it was still inline with what other tree companies were going to charge for non-emergency service. They took most of it down in one day. Billy came out with his crew and they were friendly and efficient. They had to throw some pieces off the roof and onto my lawn, which gouged a big hole in the lawn but I figured there wasn't much else they could do. The tree was leaning on the house and they couldn't slowly lower each piece without a crane, which would have been much more expensive. Anyway, it doesn't take much to even the dirt back out and the lawn will regrow. We hired them again for trimming of all the trees in our backyard. They did great work again. The only thing I wish they'd have been more careful about was some of my existing landscaping. A big branch fell on one of my small queen palms and they removed it with the tree debris. Same thing with a few Dahlias. I had put up some metal poles around my bed of peonies (which are dormant) and they just moved the poles but didn't stay off the peony area. Bummer. I also think they probably aren't the company to call if you want really delicate shaping or to tip toe around your garden. Overall, I'm still very happy with the work and would call them again for tree removal. The trees in the back are now low enough that I can keep them tidy myself. read more

These guys definitely went above and beyond all expectation, they really saved the day. My huge, and i mean HUGE! 5ft in diameter 80ft tall tree was blown over in one of the worse wind storms Id ever witnessed in Sacramento. The tree took out the power lines connecting my home to the main grid. The rest of the neighborhood was fine while i was left in the dark. Instantly i called SMUD but as you can imagine they were dealing with emergencies all over town and since i was only house in the neighborhood without power my case was deemed low priority. It took SMUD 3 whole days just to send someone out to asses the situation, after which they unwaveringly informed me there was absolutely no way they could restore power until the tree had been completely removed. By this time i had a contacted AAA, my insurance provider. Ive never had issues with AAA before now, they are usally pretty good when it comes to partnering with various companies to that handle emergencies like this EXCEPT for tree removal apparently. AAA said the best they could do would be to reimburse me for the cost. So by this point im tired, haven't had power for 3 days, SMUD is completely useless, i know that a tree this size could easily cost 5 figures to have removed. i dont have the money, i dont even have that money in credit, it is now the weekend, my insurance adjustor of course doesnt work weekends, all the food in the fridge has gone bad, I'm responsible for providing a living space for my tenants i was STRESSED!! i started calling tree services, thinking maybe a payment plan or something could be an option every company was booked with jobs leading into the next week so im explaining my situation, asking everyone if there was any possible way i could get emergency priority BP Tree Service was the only one to call me back, they had an estimator at my house within an hour. Finally a profession taking me seriously and understood the severity of my situation. They even clamed my panic about not having the money, they've work with insurance companies before and knew the drill. I live in Auburn Lake Trails in Cool, CA, and have used various tree services during my 7 years here. BP was by far the most professional, reasonably priced company I have worked with. Billy came up, gave me a quote that never changed from beginning to end. The company was extremely cooperative in taking care of additional changes and questions. Billy set a date for the job to began, but the crew came a week earlier and did an excellent job of removing and disposing of the big pines and oaks that needed to be taken down. They left the property cleaner than when they started. I plan to use them for all my tree-related issues in the future. My property has more than 200 oak and pine trees on 2.2 acres so I am sure I will need their services regularly. read more

The work performed by the onsite crew was well done. My issue with this company is in reference to scheduling, keeping appointments and communication. We contracted to have some tree brush removed and chipped and to have 2 stumps ground. During our initial quote we had forgotten about a 3rd stump that was under the brush. The onsite grinder was super flexible and took out the extra stump for us for a few extra bucks in addition to the quote. No problem paying for the services but I needed to reach out to their office in order to check in on credit back after payment. We were requesting a bit of consideration due to the fact that my wife had taken a day off of work since the stump grinding and brush removal was supposed to be handled the same day. When the stump grinder hadn't show up by around 2:30-3:00 PM I reached out and found out that he was called out to a different job and wouldn't be able to come to our house. I am not sure why it took me calling them to find that out as I feel this should have been communicated by them as soon as they knew he wouldn't be able to make it out. Due to this my mother had to take a day off of work to come over the next day so that someone could be onsite while the work was performed. When I emailed saying this was a huge inconvenience and asked for a small bit of bill relief since we were having to miss work for their mis-scheduling and miscommunication I was met with them quoting the contract stating that the contract called for "the work be completed within 45 days". I have zero issue with that, but if you agree to a scheduled appointment the expectation is you keep that appointment. In addition it was heavily insinuated that we had severely inconvenienced the stump grinder as there was an additional stump (all 3 were small stumps) and that he was forced to come in on his day off because of our job. It certainly is not our fault that he got called off the original date for this job or that there was zero communication from the scheduling office. This kind of disregard for customers (and employee's) time is abhorrent and, while the work done was well done and the onsite crews were nothing but fantastic, I cannot suggest this company based on my interactions with their back office. read more

We had BP tree service remove 5 trees. They did a good job removing the trees and offered to leave us the wood. They took most of the wood, broke five cement steps and broke two sprinkler lines that they did not fix. The cost for all this was $3,400. I have called Billy the owner repeatedly and have not received a response. read more

Excellent service. I had 2 trees in my backyard and a 3rd from a neighbor's yard that I needed trimmed due to danger from branches coming down. Reached out to several companies and ended up getting 3 quotes. BP was the most reasonable of the 3, though all in a fair price range. Decided to go with them and reached out and got the work scheduled from about 2 weeks out from when I called. Work was just completed today and it turned out great. The crew showed up early and got to work right on time and finished the job as estimated. The work they did was amazing and the yard looks great. They cleaned everything up and were very professional. Even left some of the limbs cut for firewood. Would highly recommend for any tree trimming needs and would use them again if the need arises. read more

BP came out to cut our tree that had fallen between our property and our neighbors' property. It was our tree, and we paid for the removal. They removed it in a timely manner and for a reasonable price, but the difference between how they left our yard, as the paying customer, and how they left our neighbor's property, who did not pay for the removal, was unacceptable. They left the neighbors' yard free of debris except for a perfectly stacked pile of the choicest oak, and left the rest haphazardly piled in our yard. As it was during the rainy season, the back and forth across our lawn to remove both the debris from our yard AND the debris from the neighbors' yard (as opposed to removing their stuff from their side of the fence) ruined our yard. It wasn't their place to cater to our neighbors as we were the paying customers. read more

Schedule an appointment for the owner to come look at a couple of my avocado trees. The guy didn't even show up didn't call nothing. I sat here and waited over an hour for him before I called the office and all they could say was oh we can't get a hold of him but we can reschedule. Don't use these guys find somebody else. They set up an appointment for 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday and no showed on me without even calling or apologizing.

I called bp to reschedule and told them that I needed to cancel. They didn't say anything about their contract that would cost me for rescheduling and that I could n't cancel. Their staff showed up early. I went out to ask them who they were. They told me that they were from BP. I told them that I had canceled for today. they called their boss. The same person that said I could cancel now used their contract against me and told me all the things they should have told me the day before. Not very honest. My neighbor had a very very big and very dangerous tree for the last year and a 1/2 to 2 years . PB tree service came and took care of it with ease And absolutely no damage to mine or the neighbors houses & or fences, A even cleaned absolutely everything up and they were very kind and courteous and I wasn't even there Client just a neighbor that they treated like one. First they missed my scheduled appointment by two days. Once here the foreman spoke a little English. He and the rest of the crew were all very nice. They spent a long time working. Price was a little higher than others. I had cut some branches and asked to have them chip them for me but was told there was no room left in the chipper. My main complaint was the way they lobbed the trees off. Very ugly and not professional. Cleanup was fair. Others may want to check into other companies prior to contracting with BP. read more

Amazing, fast and clean work. BP Tree services rescued my home after two large Lindens fell on it in January. The next morning they were here with heavy equipment. I was referred to BP tree services by a friend. It took me a while to finally get around to calling somebody to get rid some of the fallen trees and damaged ones removed from my property. So based on the recommendation from my friend, I called them up and asked for an estimate. I actually called a couple companies, and the rate that BP gave me was competitively priced and I thought pretty fair, and my friend said they really good job. I didn't really know the extent of how much work really needed to be done, but when they gave me an estimate, and all the charges associated with it, and I really appreciated it. I got charged for basically a full days worth of work but I was pretty surprised they were able to handle all the tree removal that they did in that single day, and not at least a day and half or two, because there was a lot of trees! I was impressed that they worked so quickly and I was very appreciative that they didn't go over what they told me they were originally going to charge. The crew was friendly, it seemed like they were working pretty efficiently, and I have nothing but good things to say about BP tree services. I'm very glad I hired BP Tree Services to remove our 100 ft. tall cottonwood tree. It was a complex tree with many thick branches that could be the trunk of other trees. The tree was surrounded by houses on 3 sides- 5 feet from our house and about 10-15 feet from the others. Additionally, it was a few inches away from a cement fence. Without professional judgement on the cutting and the controlled falling of the dangerous branches and the main trunk, much damage could have occurred. However, nothing happened. They got the job done perfectly. The tree was removed and they cleaned up the yard afterwards. In fact the yard looked even better than before. I recommend BP Tree Services to anyone who wants tree services. They are professionals who show up early to our appointments and stayed until the job was done. Recently purchased a 1/2 acre with many, many trees on it. I got BP's flyer in the mail and called for a quote. Since these trees were never trimmed or pruned correctly there were many dead limbs and overcrowding. I really love trees but 7 of the trees were within 6 inches of my new home and the roof is really destroyed as well as the surrounding asphalt. The owner Billy arrived and I told him about my immediate concern which was safety, were any of them going to fall and the trees closest to the home need to go since I will be needing to replace the roof in the near future. We did a complete walk thru of the property. He was very friendly and so knowledgeable. He pointed out areas I did not think of (of course because he is a professional tree guy). I am a cheapskate and I knew this was going to be a big expense. y original plan was to "piece meal" this project. However, as I talked with Billy, we came upon a quote which included all my concerns as well as cleaning up and trimming ALL the trees on the property. I searched around for a few companies when I needed a few large trees removed from our property. BP Tree Service was the third company I called looking for a quote, and they were by far the friendliest over the phone. Great, I thought.  So I agreed to have them send out an estimator to give me a quote. The person who came out for the estimate was actually the owner, Bill, who was extremely knowledgeable and gave me a very competitive price. So based on the fact that the price was good and his crew seemed to be able to handle the job the best, I decided to go with them. They scheduled service for a Sunday morning, and Bill actually called me to let me know he was going to be running a few minutes late due to the fact that he had another estimate he was coming from. That was incredible courteous and I wasn't even going to care if he was late, because I had nothing else going on that day. So his crew set up shop, positioned all their equipment, and worked hard basically all day long until the 6 large trees were removed, the stumps ground up, and the site almost cleaner than before the crew showed up. The crew was also friendly. I watched them periodically throughout the day and I was surprised that I think they only took about a 30 minute lunch break.... Extremely hard working guys! Bill sent me the bill (no pun intended) and it was for exactly what he quoted, which was great. I will admit I was a bit skeptical based on a couple of reviews that I saw, but I had no problems whatsoever, the owner was friendly and professional, and they got the job done for the best price I was able to get. We had BP out and they gave us an estimate to remove (3) silver maples and trim an orange tree that had a ton of dead branches. They were actually the only ones who recommend taking all (3) maples out, and I'm glad they did. We have been trimming them for the last few years with little success. We gave the job to BP based on the price and the knowledge when they walked the job. The crew did an excellent job, and the clean up was outstanding I can recommend them enough if you have a tree issue. I will certainly be calling them again. read more
