I had this company come to my older Tacoma home to do some wiring. I have "knob and tube" wiring in…read moremy house, and I needed some of it replaced so I could have reliable electricity until I get to the point of rewiring the whole house. On the one hand, they did a decent job running cable and replacing receptacles or adding new ones. On the other hand, there were some issues with their work. First, they added a new 240V dryer receptacle. The thing is, even though my dryer was sitting right there next to the new outlet they put in, they placed the outlet at a height that my dryer cord wouldn't reach. When I asked them about it later, they said the receptacle was placed at a "standard" height. I had to purchase a new dryer power cord and replace the perfectly good on on my dryer just so it would reach. They could have easily looked at my dryer's cord and placed the receptacle at an appropriate height. That was annoying. Second, my Siemens load center (electrical panel) was missing a hinge. Oliver said he would find a part for it, but a couple of weeks after the job was done, it still wasn't replaced. I called him and he said he was trying to locate it. Here it is months later and I have never heard back from him, so I assume he just wrote me off. I called around, and apparently the part is very hard to come by. Still, he could have let me know, maybe even suggested a solution. I think he just forgot about me and the hinge. Third, about two weeks after they had finished work in my house, my wife called me down to the basement. She found a hole in the side of the house. Yes, right through the sill joist and the siding all the way to the outside. I examined it, and it was right next to another hole the electricians had drilled up through the sole plate of the kitchen upstairs. It was extremely obvious to me that what happened was that one of the electricians tried to drill through the sole plate and into the kitchen, missed and went through the sill plate to the outside, and then re-drilled without either telling me (the homeowner) or fixing the hole that had been made. They left my house with an open hole exposed to the elements and never told me about it. That's another one I had to fix. Seems like this crew has decent knowledge of electricity, but lacks some of the refinements that go beyond wiring, like taking care of the customer. I did contact them about 2 of the issues, with no good resolution (dryer receptacle too high: their answer was "buy a new cord,"; and load center missing a hinge; they never did get me one), and with the third issue, I decided it was better to fix it myself than to call them and get no resolution. I can't fault the electrical work they did, but on the other hand, based on these issues, I would not hire them again. Thus the 3 star rating.

When they first came over to give an estimate, Eric (the owner) guided us (the roofing impaired people) on the intricacies of roofing and the differences between a "good" roof and a "bad" roof. He made recommendations on what would suit our needs (essentially how he'd do his own roof - if in our shoes). Came back with the proposal the next day and the bid simply could not be beat (he encouraged us to look around). When it was time to construct, he explained every process thoughtfully (and patiently) from start to finish. He explained each individual component and why it was chosen for our application. The man has passion! Every day when the work day ended, the crew always cleaned up and made sure things were nice and tidy (this is after a LONG day working) before leaving. We now easily have the best looking roof on the street. Highly recommended (costs nothing to ask for an estimate/bid)!

We hired Pavel and crew for cleaning, scrubbing and coating our garage floor with epoxy. Pavel was…read morepretty good in explaining the requirements during the inspection appointment, he is also very flexible and transparent. The garage had a lot of oil stains and cracks, it required proper grinding and repair. Pavel did a phenomenal job in cleaning the surface and making sure that the floor is properly grinded and scrubbed before doing epoxy layering. He did not rush it, which is something I appreciate. Full score on that! He followed up the next day with epoxy treatment, he used good quality material and did a clean glossy black coat which looks so FANTASTIC at night when the lights are reflecting. I am impressed by the overall look of the black epoxy. He finished it up with clear coat on top so that epoxy sets on the floor. It has been 3 days since the job was completed and apart from a few minor things (paint mark on an area in the side wall, masking tape mark), the work done is pretty remarkable for the price! Happy with the end product. :)

Seattle Pros is the real deal, staffed by actual human beings who know what they're doing and sincerely care about honorably doing the job right. After emailing dozens of contractors and having SEVEN site visits to get bids to satisfy our insurance company's requirements of leveling a sunken walkway and replacing an open stair rail, Maury at Seattle Pros was LITERALLY the only person who wondered why the walkway sank and performed a general inspection of how things were draining to insure the walkway wouldn't sink again. Maury also pointed out potential future problems with our retaining wall that a layperson would not have noticed...and that none of the other contractors did, either. I can't emphasize how spectacularly rare and awesome Maury is - not even the ultra premium "luxury" contractor (who bid three times as much Seattle Pros) noticed any of the issues Maury pointed out to me. Maury was totally transparent about what his company could and couldn't do, and how urgent several of the other issues were, and what I should watch out for. And of course, the project itself went smoothly. The work crew kept me updated on what was going on, cleaned up every day, were respectful of the space, and did great work. I advise that if you're looking for outdoor contracting services, talk to Seattle Pros first.
