This is my second time coming here and honestly this place is just ok... service is very good for a place that's this busy, but the food itself is the problem! Last time I came here some things came out cold or just not made right, and this time the turkey tips I had did have great potential, but they weren't good cuts of meat as every turkey tip I ate had a decent amount of fat on them, which is super disappointing! I have been to Boston tavern three times now and they have never disappointed. The drinks are great, the service is quick, the atmosphere is fun and the food is delicious. We've tried something different every time we've come and have never had a problem. The one thing we've gotten twice that i never got a picture of was their Buffalo chicken dip, they add banana peppers and it is a complete game changer. Also the shepherds pie poppers are incredible, so glad it is a permanent item on the menu. Couldn't recommend this place more read more

LOTS to look at. I enjoy a good sized bar area. People watching at its finest! The steak and cheese egg rolls were so perfectly cooked. Flaky... warm and gooey... I just wanted to cut up and take a little nap in one of them. "Tall" Sara was such a doll!! Super super attentive, funny, friendly and clearly works super hard to make everyone in her area happy. She hustles. That's a winner for any bartender!! Really don't understand the bad reviews. If you read them they mostly sound like one offs. I don't know. This place USED to be great. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to the food, the service, or the surroundings. Menu is down to one page, portions have been cut to 1/3 of previous sizes, plastic cups, no placemats (put your silverware (when it finally arrives) on a bare table where flies are walking. The chicken parmigiana was burnt and inedible and the spaghetti was cooked to a rope like consistency. My wife's steak was ok but powdered mash potatoes?! I actually had a really nice time here despite the obstacles. I had tried going to another place in town but could not get in (bar was full and I had no reservation) shocking since I am a party of one and can usually sneak in anywhere. This looked good so I was eager for "Plan B" However they were full as well. I was teased with a view of the bar (which looked cool) as we looked to see if I could safely be seated (6 foot distance due to COVID) no luck. The other bar area was also full as well as the dinning room. On a side note, I am so glad to see local bars and restaurants filling up again. Back to my dilemma. The only seat they had was in their banquet hall area where they had set up some tables. Ugh... a party of one in a banquet room? Really? But Ally my server made up for it. She was awesome and helpful as I was unsure of what to try on their varied menu. Went with the chowder and crispy chicken BLT. Chowder was really good (not to salty) The BLT was ok. Crispy chicken was good but the grilled sourdough was dry. All in all I would go back in hopes of sitting somewhere else and would probably try the salmon salad (it was my backup). Wanted to love this place but it just wasn't over the top for me. The place is actually pretty big in there and I always like playing a little keno while eating some dinner at a place like this. Our server was great he was very polite and was on top of our drinks! So he got his well deserved tip. For the food it just hit the mark for me. Now I compare this as a pub, so if others have suggestions I'm open to here this. The nachos were good but a little bland. If we didn't add the ranch to them like in the picture it would of missed it for me! Now in their defense I wasn't to hungry and got a salad! Cozy American Food with tvs playing whatever sport is on. The food is always good and very reasonably priced. The fried pickles are always a safe bet. The wait staff is very friendly and on top of their game in my experience. If you're looking for an easy bite and a pint this is a good spot. read more

It's been my experience that if it takes longer without the customer asking for a delay this is just to long your not coordinated with front to back It's not about the wait putting someone at a table and have them wait because your to full is unwise than have them wait for a table! Your kitchen needs to tell the front to stagger the seating slow down the front if u do seat early make your customers are aware people will understand. This was the first time my husband and I had been there, and I was looking for an open restaurant near Dairy Queen. I made a reservation on OpenTable, but there was no need since it wasn't very busy. We were seated right away by a nice hostess. Our server (I don't remember her name) came over quickly and was also very nice. We ordered buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer and both ordered the Pickleback burger for lunch. Buffalo chicken dip can be very hit or miss but this one was delicious. Our burgers on the other hand, left something to be desired. Mine was ordered well done (don't judge me lol) and had a good amount of pink in the center. It was so greasy that I had to eat it without the bread because the bun fell apart. My husband's was ordered medium and he said it was under done as well. Both burgers were too big compared to the bun and overall too messy to be enjoyable. The fries were hot and crispy. I loved all of the nostalgic Boston decor inside. I would return, but not for a burger. read more

Pretty good place. We've ordered takeout here numerous times and the prep time is typically under 30 minutes. Pickup is fast and easy. Good food. Obviously takeout isn't as good as dine in because things can get soggy but that's not their fault. read more

Went to a wedding shower. The room was beautiful and the food was very good. The AC was a problem, the poor bride was dripping sweat and all the guests were complaining. People requested the AC be turned down but it didn't seem to help. Not sure what the issue was. This morning I see they charged me twice for my drink at the bar! Still would recommend but ask about the AC if you are booking for an event. read more

My family threw my boyfriend and I a baby shower on 9/24 in their function room. It was the most amazing day ever!!!!! The staff was wonderful!!! They were so kind and attentive but not overwhelming! They made sure everything was perfect and made us feel so special!!! The food was out of this world!!! The room was set up beautifully!!! This was literally more than I could have ever asked for!! Also from what my Mom said, they were so great to work with from the first phone call to the actual day!! This place is a favorite of mine. I was introduced to it last summer or early fall and have loved it since. I love how there are two different bars and booths and tables to dine at. It's spacious and always seems to be lively and busy. Having keno is always a nice touch. Their menu has something for everyone. From the appetizers like their boneless wings to steak n cheese egg rolls to their turkey tips, meatloaf and burgers. This place has all the classic comfort foods and them some. They have have a great beer selection and seasonal cocktail list. Their cranberry beer is awesome. It can fill up on weekends and holidays of course so either call ahead or plan ahead before going, We waited one time for roughly 45 minutes or so. But it's worth it. The outdoor seating area is actually very nice with decent amounts of shade and umbrellas, inside has alot of seating with a huge bar with nice woodwork throughout. Service is always good and very friendly. I'm trying to think of specific food items to review and can't think of anything but the side Caesar salad, which is pretty good but, I do know we always comment to each other that's it's average. On St. Patrick's Day, I ordered a short rib grilled cheese, which was on the limited holiday menu, and it came with corned beef on it instead. Although I'm Irish, I'm not a fan of corned beef so that was not cool. 3 out of 5, I might go back. read more

I have gone to this location a few times. I have never had a great experience but I have never had one terrible enough to make me never go back. Until the other day. My boyfriend and I went in for dinner. He has several allergies, we spoke to the server to let her kitchen manager or manager on duty know if there is anything they could do. We both work at restaurants so we know it is plausible. We dine out a lot and a manager comes out and usually finds something that he can eat. However, not even a minute later, the server came back and said "Sorry, we can't do anything for you." I felt bad for the server because she was uncomfortable delivering that news, because a manager should have come over inquired and explained. Instead we were just wrote off. After that she avoided the table which made our service considerably slow. In my restaurant we handle every allergy with care and have a manager visit every time. It was not that busy and it seems crazy that a manager wouldn't come out themselves to say "No, there is no way we can service you." Just appalled enough to even make a review, which I have never done before. read more

Our server, Justin, was far more interested in chatting with his coworkers and watching the Pats game than actually waiting on us. It took him a good ten minutes to realize we'd even been seated, he brought us flat beers and then his coworkers delivered all of our food and left dirty plates on the table. When he finally came over after apps and meals were finished, I literally had a dirty plates sculpture on the edge of the table. There was one wing left on a plate with napkins and wrappers on it and he asked if I'd like to take it home. Seriously, out to lunch.
