I was looking for something different today for my dad and my brother. I come across Smitty's pub and pizza so we gave it a try. Great selections of specialty pizzas. It was hard to choose. Since I live in CA now, I am drawn to the linguisa selections. Today, we got a taco pizza, the veggie pizza and the one resembling a Big Mac pizza. All were incredible! The place was busy and I see why. The pizza were the standard bar size (10 inch). On top of being so delicious, they were surprisingly hearty. We could only finish half. The owner served us and was very pleasant. Service was prompt and kept the drinks full. I would highly recommend take out or in restaurant, but it might be hard to find a seat for good reason. Great job, and a 5-star recommendation. We made sure the owner and the person who made our pizzas knew how we felt when we finished. read more

Look at that crust! I know crust like that, I love crust like that. Private parking lot, small place with wood paneling. Love the vibe here- not trying to impress anyone just doing what they do. What do they do? Push out good smelling food and simple beers. The smell in here had my expectations set high. We did 6 wings (garlic parm.) and 2pies. One linguica and one bacon. The wings: meaty! YES! Decent blue cheese. Very flavorful. The wings were a solid 4 Pizza: I know poeple love this place but hoenstly for me it was missing something. Something about the sauce I beleive. It was bland. It needed a kick of garlic or sweet. It fell short. But heck the crispy crust is dope! Years and years ago I worked in an establishment that defined "pub pizza". We were known all across the south shore as the best pizza bar none. Well, that establishment went by the wayside but the concept of bar pizza has apparently taken on a new meaning. Found Smitty's and finally a place that does justice to equal my efforts from decades ago. If you enjoy great bar pizza you absolutely must go to Smitty's. The bartenders are friendly. Smitty's specialized in bar pies and wings. The wings are better than the bar pies. Their garlic buffalo wings are great, they klnow how to cook the wings properly too. The bar pies are pretty good, probably in the top 15 of master list of SSBP mainstays. TIP: Order the Fried chicken and bacon bar pie, laced edge, well done. Smitty's was recommended to me by a friend. He knows that I'm a fan of pizza and wanting to try their bar pizza. My first was at a restaurant in Wareham. I remember that day, chourice and onion. Was good, should have ordered two. So last week I tried Smitty's; a sausage and mushroom to eat at the bar. It was absolutely exceptional. Chunks of mildly spicy sausage, plenty of shrooms, enough cheese and sauce. I was disappointed to see it get down to the last piece. So I got a chicken Mozambique pie for the road: chicken, peppers and a flavorful sauce. This is a totally different type of awesomeness is how I must describe this pizza. Smitty's is an all around Boston sports bar where I would have no issues bringing a friend. Great beer selection, more than pizza on the menu. Friendly and efficient staff! The place was spotless, no raunchy odors. Clean tables that are neatly spaced out...I sat at the bar. I took the ride to Smitty's and will again; and so should you. The Yelp reviews gave me high expections about their pizza. So i ordered the cheese pizza to best evaluate the cheese, sauce and dough taste and ratio. I was blown away. Delicious. It's a small place and can get packed. But i was lucky and got a seat at the bar and was introduced to the owner, Brittany and the bar tender Joe by a friendly patron (Justin) as we watched the Patriots crash and burn for their season opener. Being someone who worked in the food and beverage industry 14 years, I've got to say they make one of the best buffalo chicken pizza's I've ever had working bars as a mixologist everywhere from Killington,VT to Downtown Providence, RI. In that same breath I've never seen a business that's so unreachable during listed business hours. It's very disappointing. This has always been a neighborhood bar. Quite frankly as a neighbor, it's not so neighborly anymore. Instead of answering and hanging up the phone, maybe say "Thanks for calling Smittys, unfortunately our kitchens closed", or relay the current parameters to order food there. read more

Perfect South Shore Bar Pizza...if you like your pizza to be a 10 inch pizza with crispy cracker crust with toppings to the edge and laced, this is place for you. Wings/Tenders are amazing. Beer is cold. Service is off the charts--the Staff is friendly and they hustle like no other establishment around town. Pizza is great but they don't answer their phone...kept trying to call to no avail so I decided to go there and sit at the bar and order my Togo pizza while enjoying a beer or maybe 2...was told they wouldn't let me order Togo and that I had to eat it there because they were running out of ingredients and wanted to save them for customers eating there...ok...so you want to save the ingredients for customers that eat in the restaurant and who will also be buying alcoholic beverages... understood...however I was going to be buying at least 2 alcoholic beverages while I waited????...so I left empty handed without them getting my money for pizzas and beers...i guess they're doing so well they don't care...well since that Sunday night 2 weeks ago I tried twice since and no answer...so no I would not recommend a place that doesn't answer their phone and at least say "sorry we're out of ingredients" rather than have someone drive there and told "we don't want your money unless you eat inside the establishment" read more

Had a party to goto, decided to bring South Shore bar pizza...Called Smitty's for 5 pizzas. First time going here. Got there early, bartender was super friendly to a new face. Pizzas came out in the time they said. Awesome bar pizza. I loved the "laced/burnt" edge (whatever you like to call it); and Smitty's nailed it. Can't wait to go again (I live an hour away). Smitty's has some of the best SSBP (South Shore Bar Pizza) around...by far! I used to go to Smitty's long before they introduced pizza but I believe that the owner saw the opportunity and not only jumped into the market, but straight up stole it.
