Neat little diner in a neat little neighborhood. For some reason I was expected a literal cafe, but thankfully this place has it all. I was torn between the lunch and breakfast menus and ultimately opted for the breakfast burrito. I'd be wary of a real burrito at a diner, but what is a breakfast burrito but a breakfast scramble in a wrap? The burrito is pretty hefty, not Chipotle sized but definitely enough for a normal person's appetite, especially when paired with the hash browns... which were delicious. Very crisp on the outside but nice and soft on the inside. And of course there's the big selection of pie. The first one I wanted, cherry crumb, was still cooking, so I decided to go for something different: gooseberry. I'm not sure what the hell a gooseberry is, but it tastes a bit like an apple with the tartness of a cherry. A crisp outer crust holds it together from fork to mouth. If you need to hit up a greasy spoon, this is the one. read more

I went for the first time since pandemic. I ordered what I had always ordered - pot roast. It used to have carrots, peas, etc with it. Not now. The roll was hard enough I did not eat it. I did ask for extra potatoes and gravy since I did not like the vegetable option. Another there used to be other options. Overall a very disappointing experience compared to what I had found a great option in the past. read more

Home cooked from scratch goodness. It's a cute place off the beaten path. There's great artwork inside. I had the eggs with hashbrowns and pancakes. The hashbrowns were crispy. Only critique is they were not seasoned. My husband had the chicken fried steak with eggs. He loved every bite. The steak was tender and hand battered and fried. The gravy was from scratch and really thick; there was definitely enough. Would come again if in the area. read more

Stopped in to my favorite breakfast place for lunch today. Had pan fried chicken, it is the BEST fried chicken in Topeka. Served with choice of potato, vegetables and a roll. 4 piece only $10.89, 2 piece $2. Less. I went with 4 piece and a to go box for supper tonight. I guess this is Tuesday special lunch and dinner. Incredible service! Bradley has been around for a lot of years cooking food and serving Topeka and surrounding communities. He is a MASTER pie maker! They have so many different favors and you can order while pies 24 hours in advance. The food is wonderful as well. Call a jeweler!, we have uncovered a major gem embedded in an out of the way area that is undergoing rejuvenation. Very popular with the locals by the amount of traffic that was in and out of this small but quaint homestyle diner. Dining area is bright and cheery, walls covered with various mural paintings.But focus on the pie board..(photo enclosed). I spent more time figuring out which pie I would be sampling, than picking out a lunch item. Todays lunch special was a complete turkey/dressing/mashed potato/green bean/cranberry sauce plate. What a treat this was, the meat was straight off the bird, smokey flavor, tender and moist. Homemade dressing...no Stove-Top here. Real mashed potatoes too. Cranberry was canned sauce, but who really makes their own cranberry sauce anymore? Lunch specials also came with soup or salad. Offerings today were Broccoli cheese. There was enough broccoli in here to qualify as a full serving of veggies for your day. Nice smokey cheese flavor. An excellent addition to the meal. My table mates, ordered an open faced turkey sandwich...same succulent turkey minus the dressing and beans, for the lighter touch. Pork Tender sandwich also came with mashed spuds. Thumbs up for all entrees from my crowd. Billie was our waitress, very pleasant and talkative, even though she had many tables to attend. Now, on to the pies..all homemade. Some of the offered flavors were tempting....others not so much...but plenty to choose from. One that took some pondering was Pineapple Coconut. If it would have been a cake, it would have won out, but a pie? Just don't know. Didn't risk it, but maybe next time. I chose the Chocolate pecan, which was incredibly rich and full of flavor, with cocoa mixed in the gooey filling, topped with nuts. Delicious, but filling...Needed to have a cup of coffee afterwards to calm the sweetness. But champion all the way. Also sampled were the lemon meringue which was about 4 inches high with its topping, and two version of apple one with crust topping, the other a crunch. Both apple eaters reported the cinnamon was too heavy and thats about all they tasted, instead of the expected sweet fruity taste. So a little knock for that. A small dent on a 5 star rating, could have been just the day. Everything else was top notch, and will definitely be returning to sample other offerings at this casual home feeling diner.. read more

I had one of the better breakfasts in Topeka here the other day, including chicken fried steak, two eggs over easy, hash browns and country gravy. It was accompanied by a good biscuit. The gravy was not as peppery as I prefer, but was still good. The hash browns were well done without being greasy. Another tip here is save room for the cinnamon rolls or the pie. Where else will you find ten different pies including flavors like gooseberry pie. read more

This is one of those small family-owned breakfast spots that are just great to go to over and over. I can honestly say this because I HAVE gone here a few weekends in a row with my husband and each time we have had a very tasty and satisfying breakfast! I usually go for whatever special they have, which is priced between $6.99-$7.29. You can't really beat that anymore! Add in a coffee and I am one happy camper on a weekend morning. As for a suggestion... My favorite breakfast would be hamsteak with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns with a side of pancakes and peanut butter. Was visiting the area for the first time, and was hoping to find a great little place with good honest food. Well I wasn't disappointed. I had the breaded pork with cream peas, and mashed potatoes, all were really good. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Just unpretentious, down home cooking. read more

I have been here several times and it's always been great. It does get super busy at lunch time so get there before 11:30 if you want a table. The service is usually very good but has been slow at times. Food is always top notch though and the pies are awesome. Seems that lately their available pie selection hasn't been as good though... maybe we're just getting there on the wrong day? read more

Solid little place. Coffee is hot and good. I had the biscuits and gravy special with two eggs and hash browns. All was cooked great and super tasty. Food came out light speed fast and was hot and was exactly what I was expecting. Biscuits were homemade and you could tell. Highly recommend. read more

The atmosphere and wait staff at Bradley's leave a lot to be desired, but the food is pretty stellar. I've mostly eaten burgers and fries here and they have always been tasty. The chocolate pecan pie here is outstanding. Everything is priced reasonably, but you will need to come early if you want to find a seat. read more

Stopped in to pick up some pie to take home. I purchased a slice of sour cream raisin (heard great things about it) and chocolate peanut butter for the hubs. I'd heard this was the best place in Topeka for pie and it is absolutely true. I'd never heard of sour cream raisin until recently and it was amazing. I had a hard time getting a sample of my husband's because he was enjoying it so much. I didn't blame him once I got a taste!! We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

I'm always super awkward in places where you don't know immediately if you find your own table or wait to be seated. We just sat down and it seemed the thing to do. The waitress was very nice and quickly got our order and drinks. The coffee was good and always filled. My husband got the chicken burrito and loved it. I got the chicken fried steak and I wish it wasn't as tough but the meal was very good. I found a hair in it, but as it turned out, it was just mine. Glad we finally tried it out! read more

I am so sad!!! We flew across the country and drove 1hr in the freezing cold with a crying baby. After hours of dreaming of ordering their famous cinnamon rolls to go.....we barely made it there before 8pm when they close. At 7:45 we walked to the front door and they had just locked it!!!! They could see us.....but they obviously wanted to get out of there early cause they ignored us. Cold and hungry, we found a Wendy's down the street that was open. Barf. I went in again for a meeting. We had to wait and wait again. Why do they continually ignore some of their guests? I always get ignored and that day all three of us were ignored. One of the ladies with me had to shout out to get their attention. Refills? Ha! Good luck. I was in a rush to get out the door at the conclusion of our meeting and had to stand forever at the register. Again, ignored! This is my favorite breakfast spot in Topeka. It's a tiny little place, and because it's so popular seating can be an issue sometimes. But I think that just speaks to how amazing it is. Their breakfast casseroles are delicious, as well as the cinnamon rolls. The staff is great, even when they're busy. My coffee mug is always filled and my water cup is never empty. If you want an original, small town diner experience, I highly recommend Bradley's. read more

Best neighborhood cafe in town. Part of historic North Topeka (NOTO), it is a small old fashioned cafe with a huge menu. The menu includes all sorts of comfort food; meat loaf, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy with eggs on top! The servers are friendly and the service great. End your stay with a piece of pie or take a whole pie home. It's the best pie in town. read more
