My wife and I recently had a very poor experience around carpet installation with Bradleys. In short, if it wasn't for the "sub-contractor" they hired to actually complete my job since they originally cancelled last minute we would have asked for a full refund. Bradley's post sales execution was terrible. For a business who has been around since 1997 I expected better professionalism, communication and project management. My husband and I contracted Bradley's Flooring at the Villages of Apex to install new outdoor carpeting on our recently renovated screened porch. After the carpet was installed, we noticed white lines running through it. The owner Brad agreed that it had a manufacturer defect, and he also did not like the wavy seaming job of his installers. He readily agreed to replace it with another type of carpet he recommended. The second piece of carpet looks worse than the first. It has a noticeable defect, and the installation is terrible. It looks like a roller coaster, and we can feel globs of glue underneath. Furthermore, after the installers already had it down, the lead installer commented that the second carpet, the piece recommended by the owner, is not outdoor carpet and will most likely mildew and smell after it gets wet. When I called the store, I was told that Bradley's no longer wants our business. They did send us a full refund, and we appreciate that. However, they left us with a mess that will likely cost us significantly more to fix since the glue globs will be messy and time-consuming to remove. If we had been demanding, rude, or unreasonable, we could understand Bradley's turning us away, but in an email an employee sent, she commented, "It's unfortunate that this carpet also had a defect. I understand your disappointment and we are very sorry you didn't have a great experience with us. You have definitely been kind, extremely patient and reasonable; we are not trying to get rid of you at all so please do not think that!" Seriously? What are we supposed to think after being turned away and left with a mess? read more

We were the only people in the store, and the store clerk couldn't be less interested in helping us look at the carpet selection. Technician didn't show up for the appointment to measure our house, but did show up a week later, only to overestimate the area by 25%. Had to argue to get the advertised special in the Cary Saver, and they still wanted to charge me $70 to move furniture in an empty room. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

We had Bradley's Flooring & Paint install prefinished hardwood floors. The crew started removing the old floors on June 21, 2017. While the crew worked hard when they were here, unfortunately they were a bit hard to predict when they would get started each day. During the initial work, someone from Bradley's only came once to check on the crew. When the floor was finished, most of my door jams were damaged and we had two holes in the wall (they did send someone to repair them). The floor was so bad with marks and chips, along with some flooring cut too short approaching the wall. Something was used to clean or fill spots on the floor that discolored the finish of the floor. After having the sales person come out and explaining to Josh how bad things looked, the conclusion was to refinish the floors. Throughout all of this, as it dragged out over the course of a few weeks, the owners never responded to any emails that they were copied on. By July 21 (the last time someone worked on the floor) I had had enough of Bradley's, even though the floor in the bath still looks bad. We presented Bradley's with the coupon that is on their website, but we were told we were given a discount already. I told them it was not on the invoice that a discount was given. I called around to other flooring places that carry the same floor and found that we were charged almost two dollars a square foot more than other places charged for the same floor. They eventually did give us the coupon after several emails. After our experience, I would not recommend Bradley's Flooring & Paint. (Prior to our experience, however, we had heard good things about them from somebody else who had hardwood floors done, and they were very pleased. I guess it might just end up depending on which crew you end up with.) read more

Bradleys replaced the carpet in my house last year and accidentally put the wrong carpet in the wrong room. Although it cost them significant money out of pocket, they completely stepped up and replaced the carpet with the right product. This is a local family owned business and they are true to their word. They also did a fantastic job. read more

I had a very good experience (my first) with Bradley's Flooring & Paint in Apex. I had them replace the sheet vinyl in my kitchen. Joshua Collins was great to work with. While at our house, he explained thoroughly what would or could be done, was on time and always courteous. The installation went well--three guys that were obviously very experienced in cutting and installing vinyl. They put down carpet protectors and moved appliances into the family room. (Hint: make sure the refrigerator gets plugged in while it is moved out of the way.) They couldn't undo the gas hose on the dryer, but were able to pull the dryer out of the laundry area and turn it so it was on the family room carpet area all without putting undue pressure on the gas hose. At one point, work stopped and I heard a long discussion in Spanish. I went to investigate (I don't know Spanish) and they were having trouble matching the pattern at the seam--it was not immediately obvious with the vinyl pattern I chose. Once I found and pointed out the correct pattern match, I think they still did not understand and started cutting the piece, so I had to tell them to slide the sheet over a few inches for the correct match, and then the did so. They went out of their way to make sure the new shoe molding they installed was stained to match my cabinets. When calling Bradley's, or visiting their store, the staff seemed "abrupt"--not quite rude, but certainly not warm or friendly. Joshua made up for that, and I dealt with him most of the time, but he could teach some of the other store staff about how to treat customers. I might have passed them by (before I met Joshua) had they not loaned me a sample book at my first visit to the store, but I'm glad I didn't. read more
