My nephew and I went outside to see how bad they were stuck. It was high-centered with the passenger side drive tire off of the ground...so we were not pushing them out. Opened Google maps and tried calling some different tow companies that came up in a search. A lot were not 24hrs and some didn't service the remote area we were in. It was close to 11pm, but we were able to get a hold of Tommy. I've been in law enforcement for 19yrs, seen a lot of crashes and after a few questions from Tommy, I knew that he knew what he was doing. Told the lady to cancel the shady no-name guy she had on her phone. Tommy got here quickly (as quick as you can with a big roll back on tiny mountain roads). He was professional and knew how to take extra steps to get the car free without just yanking it out and doing extra damage. Only took about 10-15min after the winch and snatch block was set up. Got her car out with no additional damage that she hadn't done. He charged her a fair price and did not gouge her as he could have (it was late and they were lost and desperate). He even had them follow him out to the main road so they could use their GPS to get back to their cabin (over 9 miles away/off course). I was pulled over and my vehicle was towed . I paid nearly $400 the very next day to recover my…read morevehicle from Southern Pride. However, after retrieving the vehicle, I was only able to drive approximately a quarter of a mile before it suddenly stalled. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I discovered that someone had gone under the hood and disconnected the fuel line, causing gasoline to spray directly onto the ignition coils. This created an extremely dangerous situation and could have resulted in an engine fire, especially considering the engine temperature and the presence of exposed fuel near ignition components. Had the vehicle caught fire or required another tow, I would have faced additional costs and potential damage that could have been prevented. I regularly perform my own automotive maintenance and inspections, and I am very familiar with the condition and setup of my vehicle. The fuel line was secure prior to the vehicle being in Southern Pride's possession. This was not a normal mechanical failure or accidental occurrence; the disconnection of the fuel line appears to have happened while the vehicle was under their care. I am requesting that Southern Pride address this matter and provide appropriate compensation for the damages, repairs, and safety risk caused by this incident. I would prefer to resolve this issue directly and professionally before pursuing further legal action. However, there is no reasonable explanation for a critical safety component being intentionally or negligently disconnected while my vehicle was in their possession. They sold us a vehicle that was never going to pass inspection in Pennsylvania being EPA deleted. Having registered 7 times in the last six months. Coincidentally; Reliable was the recovery service each time. When we could prove this legally, we were sent a text: We will see you soon. That morning at 1:38am the recovery agent Trespassed and destroyed two electrical poles with Transformers. $15,000 per transformer $30,000 per pole, and to boot now the cops won't even give us his insurance info for our Lawyer to sue. Do not trust these people. This is Dirty business anyway; you look at it! We are suing all parties involved and body cam footage is our proof.
