I brought in my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee because it was leaking oil. Their inspection reported that there was no oil showing on the dipstick. They diagnosed an "oil cooler to engine block failure" and recommended replacing the engine oil cooler. I paid $490 after my warranty paid them the balance. Despite their diagnosis, black light dye testing, repair work, and assurances, the Jeep continued leaking oil. I photographed oil pooling beneath the vehicle and returned within days with the same complaint. This time, Sun Auto now diagnosed the turbocharger oil return line and related parts. The second bill was $1,215.40, including $1,032.49 in labor. My warranty paid another $1,015.40, and I was charged another $200 deductible. Two visits for the same continuing oil leak generated $2,664.45 in total charges. Of that amount, $2,221.49 was labor. My third party warranty was billed $1,974.45, and I paid $690 out of pocket. When a shop claims it found and repaired an oil leak, then the vehicle immediately continues leaking, the ethical response should be to investigate whether the original diagnosis or repair was wrong. It should not simply become another expensive diagnosis and another warranty claim. I asked the manager to respond to my emails in writing and he refused to!! Major red flag! I was even told that an oil leak could come from "2,400 places" in person and insulted over the phone. customers pay professional labor rates because they expect professional diagnosis and accountability. In my experience, this place is all about money. The front counter sales talk was slick, the labor charges were enormous, and the original problem continued. Adam and the front counter staff showed little concern that I had returned with the same oil leak after an expensive repair. I have the invoices, inspection findings, payment records, and photographs of the continuing leak. The quote I received was $6,000, which was substantially higher than the $3,000-$4,000 estimates I received from several other reputable shops. I'm all for paying for quality work, but that kind of difference made me feel like I was being price gouged. What really pushed me over the edge, though, was the diagnostic fee. I was told it would be $160, which I agreed to. When I went to pay, the bill was over $190. When I called to ask why, I was told they "had to put some oil in the car to diagnose it." To me, that feels scammy. If you're going to charge more than the stated diagnostic fee, that should absolutely be communicated and approved beforehand. Adding extra charges without authorization--especially after I declined their high repair quote--felt wrong and unprofessional. Because of that lack of transparency, I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend the shop. Friendly people, yes--but the pricing practices made me lose trust in their integrity. I told him that it is not possible unless its manually triggered. I explained the steps and process on how to undo the mechanism to release it. However apparently the tech who "worked" on my car was not comfortable doing it and so the service advisor Brayden called his manager to ask if it was OK if he did it himself. Come to find out the tech that was supposed to change the oil on my car in the first place didn't even work on my car for the hour I was waiting. All in all Brayden and another tech Garett took it upon themselves to unlock my parking brake manually and change my oil. They were very polite, professional and willing to undo the error of another tech and they didnt even charge me for the oil change. Im leaving a 5 star review due to them being amazing people. However whoever was supposed to have worked on my car, needs to have a meeting with the managers because I believe they lied about triggering my ebrake mechanism and also wasting time in not changing the oil for the whole hour I waited in the first place. I ended having to wait about 2 hours about in total. I will definately go back if Brayden and Garett are the ones working on my vehicle! He had agreed to charge me 1 hour labor to remove and replace the cluster after I refused to pay $1900 for his cluster repair. I had to wait for the cluster to get repaired and shipped back to me and contrary to what they say I cannot legally drive the car without an instrument cluster! He was pissed that I didn't give him $1900 to repair the cluster so he tried to take it on me with outrageous claim of a storage fee when in fact he didn't satisfy NV law for such a claim! If This is how they treat a loyal customer imagine what they will do to you! Quoted me $700 to fix the door lock when a $13 switch solved the problem ! Charged me $260 to fix the interior trim On the convertible top, they used scotch tape to fix it! Get the picture? They will try to rip you off as much as they can ! Avoid at all costs ! The receptionist Red's Mother Alicia tried to charge me tax on labor ! NV doesn't charge tax on separate labor items which in this case was the labor on the installation of my suspension and brake parts I provided to them. They didn't inform me if they did the proper break in procedure for the new rotors and pads ! I refused to pay storage fees on a car I couldn't legally drive without a cluster. When I arrived the car was parked on the street not in their lot or inside their building so Red wants to charge me storage for street parking ! They are from Philippines where ripping people off are the norm over there !
