They got me in and out and got the ALLEN WRENCH out of my tire and fixed it up for $21. Chevy was good natured and they pulled my car up to the door. Made a bad situation lighthearted. I've been coming here for a few years for regular maintenance and some larger fixes and am always really happy with the service received. I'm always extremely thankful when Yves is helping me handle my car issues as he is patient, thorough, and goes the extra mile to help me resolve issues. I keep coming here because of the excellent service that Yves provides and I've found that Ted Wiens is always very fair and transparent with the issues and recommendations they give. My alternator and battery had issues and Yves worked w the battery provider to get a warranty replacement brought here so I would be able to get home safely and quickly. Update after owner replied: Thanks for clarifying. However, the vehicle was not overheating after the coolant was properly flushed and filled, nor was any seepage found. This confirms the issue was coolant contamination rather than failed components. Recommending major part replacement before performing a basic flush and retest is exactly why I advised others to get a second opinion. This is gonna be long but here goes... ‍ I am extremely satisfied with my experience that I had at Ted Wiens a week ago! I was experiencing some issues starting my car for about a week and figured it was a battery issue. I had my battery tested at O'Reilly and they told me battery was fine, that it was the starter that was going bad. I called 3 different shops (Ted Wiens being one of them) and they quoted me the cheapest price to replace the starter. When I talked to Johnny he told me wanted me to bring it in to look at it. I went that afternoon and he hooked it up to the diagnostic machine and said that the battery, starter AND alternator were all good. He showed me the slip of paper from the machine to verify. He told me to try changing out my key fob batteries, as when the batteries get low the fobs have trouble communicating with the ignition button. Since it was a while since I last did that i went ahead and got new batteries. Worked good for about a day, but still the problem persisted. And on top of it I was starting to smell a really strong fuel smell. This had me a bit concerned so I brought my car back there and spoke with Johnny about and let him know I was still having issues with starting my car. His coworker (I believe Joseph) brought the car around back and said he could definitely smell the fuel. I asked Johnny what worst case scenario would be for my car. He told me it could be the fuel pumps and if so it would be close to $3k repair on my car. But knowing that if I brought my car to the dealer to get fixed it would easily be about 1k - 2k more plus they were twenty minutes from my house. They wanted to do a more thorough diagnosis on the car and wanted to keep it overnight to which I agreed to. The next morning I walked over to the shop and approaching it I saw 5-6 LVMPD vehicles getting serviced. This immediately put my mind at ease because I know that our police department is not going to take their vehicles to a shady shop. When I got inside Johnny took me to my car and he started it up. I could see the fuel leaking from the pump area, so yeah much to my disappointment it was a fuel pump issue but I am glad finally there was a resolution. He had to order the parts and said work would start as soon as they got them in. Next day (Wednesday) my car is ready. Yay!! I have a job interview on Friday which I'm already nervous about and I can't afford to think about if I'm going to make it in my car/how to get there. I pick up the car that morning and Johnny tells me if I have any issues to give him a call. I decide to stop at Sam's Club and I'm in there for about an hour. Come back to the car and it doesn't start . Had my battery retested by Sam's Club tire tech and he tells me battery is fine. I called Johnny back and nearly crying, tell him I'm stuck at Sam's Club. He tells me NOT to worry, he's on his way. He gets there in about 10 minutes and he finally gets the car started and inspects the engine again. He hooked up my car to the diagnostic scanner and after a series of engine offs and ons, he finally got a code on the scanner. (Mind you I had no check engine light throughout this whole ordeal). The code was for a "crankshaft sensor bad". Upon hearing this from Johnny, all I could think about was how much more this was going to cost me. The answer was $0. Johnny said he was going to take care of this and it would be no cost to me. He drove my car (I ended up driving his) back to the shop and they proceeded with the crankshaft sensor replacement. He called me later that afternoon saying car was ready and picked me up to take me to get my car. My baby 2013 Hyundai Azera was back in business and she has been starting and running great since last week!!! YUUUUUUGE shout out to JOHNNY and the rest of the Ted Wiens staff. You really put this girls mind at ease and made a really stressful situation less stressful. I ended up paying for my fuel pump repair with their credit card. I plan on taking the car back there for my future oil changes and getting half off. Also good to know they do emissions testing so I'll be doing those there as well. Update I was refunded my money and my muffler has been cut in half . That was the noise . Zip zap auto had my car the week prior . ************************* I brought my car in yesterday to the location on west Cheyenne needing a diagnosis for a loud ticking noise I heard when I was driving the previous night and it was sounding like a fan rotation issue . My son in law also heard it as he followed me home as there was some very loud noise that sounded like a fan was grinding or broken etc they said they test drove it and couldn't identify it , and told me all the problems I already knew the car . I know I need struts I know I have an oil leak etc . My car sounds like it has headers on it it's very loud and there's a loud ticking noise . I paid 190.00 for nothing and something is seriously wrong with my car . Either holes in the exhaust manifold or O 2 sensor is needing replacing or a muffler . This is a usually a quite car it's a Honda civic and I left with a car that was still broken and out $ 190.00. Any mechanic should know a Honda civic has a quiet engine . I'm not sure what happened but a complete 180 for me. Brought both cars back after hearing from a member of management and have had nothing but great experiences. Just yesterday, I came in and wanted 4 new tires. The young man working first thing in the morning listened to what I wanted and gave me available options to suit my needs. I took my 1951 Nash Street Rod to Ted Wiens on Frreemont St. (corner of Sahara and Boulder Hwy) It needed a tire and the Trac bar was bent. Since the car was custom built with a GM 10 bolt rear differential you can not buy a new Trac Bar. One of the mechanics said he could make one at home and bring it to Ted Weins and install it. The store manager said OK and I was happy they could get it fixed. Three days later the mechanic tells me it is done and ready to be picked up. I go to pick up my car and when I wanted to pay the bill they tell me the price and I thought it was a bit high. I asked them why and he said when installing customer parts the labor rate is doubled to $262.50. I tried to tell them It is not a part you can buy and your mechanic built it for the car at home. The said we charge double labor on customer parts. I will not be using Ted Ripoff Wiens any more and will tell everyone I know about this ripoff joint. read more

Free coffee and water, TV, and a comfortable waiting area with socially distant leather chairs while you wait. The frosty AC blasting in the waiting area was awesome, being as it is presently hot as Baghdad here in Las Vegas. Took my truck into ted wiens on eastern to get an alignment and oil change. So when got my truck back they said they could not do an alignment because I needed new upper control arms which the toyota dealership didn't notice anything wrong with them 2 weeks prior to this and I also had a second opinion today at A+ auto they said they found nothing wrong with the upper control arms. My question is why did they charge me $112 to do the alignment which they didn't do not only that but my alignment on my truck was worse when I drove home. I have been using ted wiens for 3 years and have the ted wiens credit card bought tires for $1800. I am requesting a refund on $112 since they didn't complete the alignment. The worst. I went for a flat tire and oil change. I had to buy two as I have a four wheel drive. They placed the two new on the back and old on the front. Two weeks later had a flat on one of the new tires. Took it to another branch that informed me it was wrongly installed, also over inflated all tires to 50 and damaged my tire sensor. When it was done they said the price went up $10 because the tire was low profile and were hard to take off. It sound like a joke but it is not, more like they try to look lime an idiot. Stealthy Upselling!!! I brought in my 25 yr old car to fix alarge oil leak. I was initially quoted a price of 500 "out the door" as they call it meaning including parts, labor and taxes. When I dropped my car off, the gentleman took my info down, then said the price is actually $484, and printed the paperwork for me to sign. After I returned home, they called me and confirmed the leak that I told them about and the cause, and said it would cost something like $508 now. I asked why, and didn't get a straight answer - the guy just said something like it wasn't calculated right. After I picked up the car and reviewed the bill after I got home, I find that my oil replacement (which was part of the job) wasn't with conventional oil, but All Synthetic, and I ended up paying $50 MORE than the original morning quote. I didn't ask for top of the line synthetic oil, and a reasonable mechanic would look at a 25 yr old car and, replace it with the conventional oil, per my morning modified price that the intake guy gave me. I FEEL LIKE I WAS DECEPTIVELY UPSOLD. A FRIEND WHO USED TO USE THEM COMPLAINED ABOUT BEING UPSOLD IN THEIR EXPERIENCE TOO. I should've listened to my friend. I found this shop yesterday because my Dad had a slow leak in his tire. The place was packed. I explained my situation to one of the employees Brian. He suggested instead of waiting, that he'd put air in the tire and to come back first thing in the morning. I returned a little before 7 am and they took me in right away. Eric (manager) , Brian and the rest of the crew were polite and assisted me in getting the tire fixed. Dad has a lift for his wheelchair and we were told by the company that installed the lift, that he had to find a car wash facility that didn't have a brush so it wouldn't get damaged. I commute from California often to take care of my business, Smoking Pig BBQ. Before I left, I had a screw in my tire which went in at an angle. They plugged it but warned it wouldn't hold due to the angle and they were right. Once in Las Vegas, it started going flat. Ted Wiens is right down the road from my home here, so I first called and then went there. The woman I spoke with I believe was Cabrina (I'm horrible with names). She is one of the most patient, calm and thorough customer service people you will ever find. I had a road hazard warranty but didn't have a copy with me. She called the California store then said, rather than wait, why don't you head home and let me handle this. And that's what I did. They put on the spare and I left.
