I was having issues with a brake service that I got done at Grease Monkey and I called Brake Masters to see if they'd give me a second opinion and Erik Erickson answered and said yes. I came in and he was ready for me to get there and finished looking at my car in about an hour. When I picked my car up he let me know that the hardware on my brakes wasn't put on correctly at Grease Monkey and fixed it free of charge!! Very professional and kind. read more

I called yesterday, in need of getting an alignment after purchasing new tires from next-door. The person that answered the phone was polite and got me scheduled quickly for the next day. I went in today and my car was in within five minutes of my arrival and I was done within the hour promised. $109 for an alignment seems very fair to me, and they didn't try and upsell me or sell me anything. Most of the staff comes from dealer service shops, and I would recommend them if you need service on your vehicle. read more

I had taken my BMW to this location about a week ago 2/20/25 for an oil change and alignment. The issue I had came after receiving my car, it has been going off with 6-7 different system error ranging from chassis stability warning to collision sensors offline to parking assist being disabled. These issue were not present prior to my visit and are the first time I have seen them. I had given it a few days so the system could work out that alignment has been done but the issue persist. I am not going to go somewhere where I resolve 1 issue just to gain 6 more. read more

I've come to brakemasters before and had a five star experience. This time was a nightmare. I brought my 2017 ford explorer in on Tuesday, June 17th for three reasons; an oil change, a tire rotation, and because the check engine light was on. I received a call the next day recommending that we do about $1000 worth of fixes to the car including changing cabin air filters, changing a cracking belt, changing spark plugs, etc. I chose to bypass the spark plugs and paid Roughly $505 to fix the remaining things. I got my car on Wednesday, June 19th and was confused that the check engine light was still on. I called to find out THEY DIDNT EVEN CHECK THE REASONING FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT. I was then told following a $180 diagnostic test that they would be able to fix it. I received a call on Saturday, June 21st stating that they were sorry about the mishap, they were going to wave the diagnostic fee, and that they found the problem which would cost around $165. Great news right? I then called on Monday, June 23rd to find out what the status of my vehicle was to which I got the reply "oh, nobody called you?" NO, THEY DID NOT. I then received the explanation that the part they thought they needed was wrong and that the new quote with new parts and labor was around $450. I picked my car up immediately and will not be back to this place. I also recommend finding ANY other place to get your work done because it couldn't get worse than that. read more

Called to bring in my car for a diagnostic, no price was given on the call. Arrive with towed in car, said it'd be $180 diagnostic and able to use it towards cost of repair, so I agreed. Jeremy, I believe the front desk man, called, said it was my fuel pump and needs to be replaced for $850. Mind I'm a single, young lady, by myself, I verify if I would be able to apply the $180, he said yes, and I asked why so expensive, he quote on quote said, "I'm ordering the manufacture part, OEM, since your car is a Lexus, and not after market" so I figured that made sense and again, agreed. Pick up my car the next day, he ended up cutting diagnostic fee to $90 and STILL charged me for it after he said the full $180 would be applied. He also mentioned I needed coolant flush and radiator replaced, and that he filled my coolant as it was low. So I barely make it 15 miles on the highway home and car begins to shut down just like how I got in this position. Called break masters, while It was shutting off, and he tells me well can you bring it in to check it out, I'm 15 miles away, stranded again! I ended up taking to a nearby, brake plus, where he found NO coolant in my car, fuel pressure PSI low, code for misfire of cylinders, broken radiator cap &&&&& brakes plus let me know the fuel pump he replaced was purchased at oreilly's for almost half the cost they charged me!! I would not recommend this business, they scam, they lie about their purchasing manufacture parts, and show no accountability for charging me diagnostic fee after they said I could apply it. read more

Had an alignment done there in Aug on my daughter's car. A month later (September) her brand new tires were so terribly worn that they were sparking as she drove due to them not tightening the camber adjustment bolts. New tires were bought again and we asked them to pay for the two tires that were damaged due to their negligence. They said they would. However, it's been 3 months now and still nothing. Every time we call, they give us the runaround. Definitely do not recommend them. read more

I had an appointment yesterday for 2:30 to have an oil change. I left work early to make sure that I was there on time. I went straight to the person behind the counter and informed them that I had a 2:30 appointment for an oil change. He took out some paperwork and said that it was going to be an hour and a half wait. I thought he was joking so I laughed a little and when I asked him if he was serious he said he was. I told him that I didn't have time for that and that was the reason that I made the appointment. After I left, I started thinking that maybe they may have misheard me say that I was there for an oil change appointment, so I called them back to clarify. I was told that they heard me correctly that it would be an hour and a half even with an appointment. He explained that the reason was because people that had appointments before me added services. From what I understand they like to poke around to find things to add while you're in there. Just another greedy business, I will never come back and I will make sure to let everyone know about my experience there. read more

My goodness. I got excited about this business only to see I was fooled yet again. I assisted my 16 year old son with his first maintenance experience. He was nervous and the desk staff worked him through it. I had to leave for work and we were both confident no unnecessary add-ons would be pushed. If so, my son understood to graciously decline. When we met up at home later, he was completely disappointed in other's integrity as they indeed try to con him. They recommended several other fixes which we had already completed less than 5 months earlier. We had our honest mechanic (Full Throttle Automotive) complete such; however, oil changes just aren't cost effective for him which is why we went to Brake Masters. My son even spent over $50 on high end wiper blades a few months prior and they recommended replacement. Unfortunately, he learned a great lesson that day which only got worse. He moved his vehicle from the driveway the next morning only to see a massive amount of oil. He was devastated as his vehicle was in perfect condition prior to Brake Masters. They ultimately corrected the problem, but didn't offer any explanation or compensation for the inconvenience, clean-up, and time. I've become immune to this style of service, but my son was completely hurt and perplexed. It's his hard earned money that he's putting back into his car and Brake Masters attempted to take advantage of him. I recently had a problem with a bad water pump on my XT5. I was referred to Brake Masters here in Anthem and they confirmed the water pump needed replacing, along with two other parts. The mechanic took the time to explain the need for the two parts. They did everything possible to expedite getting the water pump part (apparently there is a shortage) and get my car back to me. I was given a ride home as well as a ride back to Brake Masters. As a woman, it is imperative to me my car is always in great condition. Lonnie is one of the only people I trust with any of my vehicles. Went to Big Brand Tire up the road last week, was told that my serpentine belts were leaking and my car is gonna break down. I asked how much it would be to take care of it, they quoted me $800! So I brought my car over here to Brake masters and had Lonnie and his team to take a look at it. No leaking, no wheezing, and to replace the belts, only costed me $115! Literally saved my ass in more ways than one! Had a great visit to the Anthem Brake Masters. The work is expensive, but I sure as hell didn't want to take a door apart! Cheyenne was very pleasant and kind checking me in right when they opened. She kept me updated and explained the charges to me. The part had to come from Heaven or someplace far-I heard her checking on the progress as I waited in the lobby. The free WiFi is nice so I was occupied the entire wait. I spoke to Luke the mechanic and he showed me the broken cable in the door and explained how he would replace it as soon as it arrived. I saw when the parts runner brought the cable and it was installed in just a few minutes so could be on my way. Kudos to Cheyenne and Luke for such an amazing job! I believe the manager on-site was "Lonnie"--I hope I have that right! He has a good shop and two very reliable teammates taken care of business. I use this Brake Masters a lot for work and have been for many years. I will have to say this is my best experience with the shop! What a waste of time! Made a 9am appt online and dropped off my car on time. They let me know they would inspect it and call me within 45 minutes. Never got a call, so I followed up 1.5 hours later and asked for an update. They hadn't even taken it in yet but said my car was next. Waited another 1.5 hours and still no update again, so I called again and they STILL hadn't taken it in. Dropped it off at 9am just picked it up now at 1:30 and it was right where I left it, untouched. What a joke, I can understand it gets busy but at least communicate with your customers. read more

Great shop, excellent customer service! Had to take my car in yesterday because my struts were shot. I called over in the morning and spoke to the manager Steve which gave me a quote over the phone. He was extremely friendly and gave us a great price. He had the parts ordered and delivered within a few hours and my car was completed the same day! They replaced my entire strut system and completed an alignment. My car now rides like a dream! I am very impressed by the outstanding service I got from Steve at Brake Masters. If you are a female, never come here. All the men that work in the front are so sexist and have very rude attitude. The first time I was there was only for an oil change and they made some rude comment about my pink keychain. I came back one more time because it was convenient since I work nearby for an oil change and my check engine light was on. The only reason why my check engine light was on was because I needed a new gas cap and my total bill for a diagnostic, new gas cap and regular oil change was more than $500. Once again, if you are a female do not come here. It is just not worth it. Oh and it also took them from 10am to almost 5pm for all that. If I can give them 0 star I would. read more

A dealership told me my car needed $2000 worth of repairs for two oil leaks and two broken motor mounts. I took my car to Brakmasters in Anthem, AZ because the estimate seemed high. Their ace mechanic examined the entire car and said nothing needed to be done because the motor mounts were intact and the oil was not leaking. No repairs were needed. Had a 2:00 appt today for a wheel alignment made days ago. Went to get a bite to eat and left my cell number. Told it would be an hour. I come back 45 minutes later and my wife's car is still outside. I am told that they can't get a car down from the rack. Don't you have 6+ bays there? I get it, shit happens but where is the proactive and customer service and solution? Why don't I get a call 15-30 minutes after my appt to tell me about the problem instead of waiting until I get back to break the news? What if I got back an hour or later? I am taking off on a Thursday to get honey do's done and my time is precious especially when I am off doing errands. No timeframe, no discount on future appt, no thank you. That is why I won't shop local because locals don't know how to take care of us. read more

I have lived in Anthem now for almost 6 years and have been coming to Brake Masters for most of my vehicle's services. The customer service here was always very nice which is why I was continually going there. Unfortunately yesterday I went there for a simple oil change and somewhere between the service tech driving my vehicle into their garage and backing it out of the garage, they put a huge 6" scratch on my new leather steering wheel. I brought it up very nicely to the service team and all they could do was give excuses like "the tech wasn't wearing any rings" or "he was't wearing a belt" "There's no way he could have done that". I don't know how it happened either, however I know 100% that it was not there prior to me dropping off the car. This made me realize the integrity of this shop is not what I thought it was. They will not take responsibility for the actions. Needless to say I will no longer be coming to this shop for work on my car. Break Masters replaced the gasket on the intake manifold on my engine and got particle pieces in my engine. This ruined my engine. I had to have another dealer replace the engine because I would never never take my truck back here ever again. They use the shoot approach. I had previously taken my truck in for air conditioner problems ....$1000 later had to keep taking it back because it was not fixed then another $2000 to fix the air conditioner. they do not have any idea what they are doing. After payment was made, I was not comfortable or satisfied the work on my car was completed properly. I drove straight to Brake master who usually services my vehicle and they corrected an overfill issue of brake fluid that occurred at Big O center .. The Brake master tech ( Morgan) was courteous , professional, and did not charge me or ridicule me nor the company that overfilled my brake fluid reservoir .. I had an appointment for an alignment at noon, showed up early to have Mike at the front counter laugh and say "we don't have an alignment machine, they're replacing it". It would have been nice to get a phone call after making the appointment online, or even a phone call first thing in the morning letting me know they couldn't do the alignment that day. I spent the rest of my afternoon scrambling trying to get an alignment done before heading out of town tomorrow morning.
