The somewhat elderly man at the main desk, I'm unsure of his name, really makes the place worth coming back to. He gives great customer service, has a good personality, and is always in a positive mood. I've only been here to get my CV boot on my wheel fixed. The first time I broke it, but we had to go back twice within a year because it keeps ripping. I'm unsure if this happens due to my driving, (which is totally normal, haha) or because of their performance of putting it on? Whatever the case, they have a lifetime gaurantee on it, I just pay labor fees. I might also consider going here for oil changes too, it's $10 cheaper than the typical Honda dealer I go to. read more

So apparently they give you one price on the phone and don't intend on delivering on that price. I was quoted 139 for two rear breaks, after all fees and labor. Once they are prepared to do the work after their inspection they attempted to tell me the price was going to be nearly $200 dollars! I told them the quote and they said "that's what we quote on the phone" no other work had to be done either! They eventually were able to offer me the job for 163. Still more than I was quoted! I have taken my car here THREE times now for the same problem - after spending two hundred and something dollars to get the pulsating fixed, it did not happen, I take it to them again (second time), and they tell me OH, i thought I told you that you might need your other routers replaced soon - NO YOU DID NOT. Why wouldn't I get it fixed when I brought it there the first time? They check the brakes and say everything is fine, Routers still should be looked at, but the REAL problem is the Rims -I had two of my Friends (at different times) ride with with me that work on Cars, they tell me it is definitely the Routers. So my wife takes it to these PROFESSIONALs again today (3rd Time) - tells them what we need, and then they it will be a while. The wife has to pick up our kids from school, and they tell her it should not be a problem - 2 hours later, they tell her they are almost done the inspection -- REALLY, and inspection???? DO YOU NOT KEEP NOTES IN THE SYSTEM -? I call myself and talk to a "ROB, or BOB" he tells me that he should have looked in the system, but did not, he talks to a Manger to see if they can make some sort of a Concession to keep us a customer. ------$35--- Really. So three trips down there, and you are going to discount me $35... I guess YOU HAVE LOST 2 customers - My wife and Me. TO BE CONTINUED --- So Jimmy Called me back. He assured me that me that he would take care of this. I have not received my car back as of yet, but All of the other notes associated with Jimmy are Extremely Positive. MY CAR IS FINALLY FIXED- 4 times down there, but the brakes work perfectly. Jimmy actually called me today to ensure that thigns were resolved -THANKS. read more

My car recently started to make some grinding sounds from the rear whenever I would brake. Since my wife uses the car for her commute to the Bay Area every week, I had to make sure that the vehicle was in top shape for her to continue to use. I had a feeling that the brakes were the big culprit and found out about Brake Masters and decided to bring my vehicle here. First, I placed a call to make an appointment. You can probably get away with not making an appointment but go ahead and make one, especially if you are coming on a busy day (i.e. Friday, Saturday). The young lady who answered was pleasant and friendly. Once I arrived, I come to find out that they do FREE diagnostics on your car. That's right, FREE. I'm glad that Jimmy went ahead and told me that it was a good thing that I brought my car as soon as I did. He told me that my rear brakes were at the point of hitting metal on metal. Fortunately, he also told me that I brought the car in time and that all they would need to do is replace the pads, re-surface the rotors and clean out the rear brake drums and my car would go back to top shape. Like all the reviews, Jimmy/Henry after doing the diagnostics on your car, will tell you up front what your car will need. It's up to you whether or not that you want the service done there and then. Like many of the 5 star comments, I too can recommend this place for your braking and other car needs. Staff was friendly, honest and prices were fair for the services they provide. I went here for 5 years getting oil changes, brakes, and other minor maintenance. They've always done a good job, I've never caught them lying to me, and they take drop-offs. Brake jobs were always done correctly, far as I can tell. They never tried to charge my wife for "extra" things to try and take advantage of her. They offer a good price on oil changes and will throw in a free rotation. I can't speak to the other locations, but the guys here seem pretty ethical. I went into Brake Masters on a whim - I hadn't been there in a while, but my previous experience with Jimmy and Henry was really good and I was worried about my brakes. Like last time, my little (different from before) SUV was coming up on 83,000 miles on the original brakes, and like every SUV I've ever owned, the rotors would start to warp and I'd get a little shimmy in the steering when coming down a long hill like the Altamont Pass here. After a thorough once-over by the team at Brake Masters it was determined that despite the long miles on the car and its brakes, I still had plenty of pads left - the rotors weren't bad, and the shimmy is tolerable, so it looks like I'll get 100,000 miles out of these brakes. "They don't make 'em like they used to" they make 'em better now. Upon picking the car up, Henry presented me with the bill - 0$. This is exactly the kind of service and support which makes Brake Masters an outstanding business in Tracy. They focus on their core competence - brakes - and at it, they're beyond reproach. WOW! Thank you, Derrick!! You don't find mechanics these days who are willing to take 5 minutes of their time to help you without charging an arm and leg. On our way to the Central Valley on a Saturday afternoon, my check engine light came on out of no where. Given my travel time was at least another hour, and to eliminate the risk of breaking down in the middle of nowhere, we quickly tried to find a mechanic to take a look to make sure it wasn't anything serious. After finding the majority of auto shops closed or none being available to look at my car, we stumbled on Brake Masters. We spoke to Derrick on the phone. His tone alone and the compassion in his voice for our safety already made me feel like this was the right place to go to. We arrived and were quickly greeted. Derrick was even nicer in person!!
