I went in to Les Schwab pissed off cause Tracy Toyota wanted to nickel and dime me for a diagnostics and inspection. I just bought the vehicle, I know nothing about it, I wanted a comprehensive check to know its condition. Toyota failed to give confidence in their competence so I called my buddy and he recommended I take it Les Schwab. I was going to go to Livermore Toyota. I went to Les Schwab and they offered me everything that I was prepared to pay for at Toyota as a complimentary service. They were willing to do so much for free that I refused to take free as a price point. I asked for an oil change- to which they still added a ton of free services. I'm not one for free, I believe free is never good quality. But when I went back to speak with the tech, they explained to me that I made a solid purchase and that the noise I'm hearing is a worn exhaust hanger- causing the exhaust to rattle against an aftermarket tow hitch. Thank you to Nate, the tall bald ginger Tech- badass dude. Mike the Tall honcho dude- he sent Anthony with me on a test drive who ultimately discovered that the issue wasn't in my suspension and potentially saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars before I went apeshit tearing stuff apart to figure the noise out. I would recommend Les Schwab. Especially this Tracy location. An awesome group of individuals that make an amazing team, Fuckin thank you guys. Oh and the middle aged lady who helped me as well, I failed to get her name but she was an awesome professional, and she was super nice to my dog too. I have been coming to Les Schwab since they opened. They have always provided excellent service. From tire rotation, oil changes, new tires, alignment and brakes are the things that I have had done but I know they offer much more. Today I came in because my car was leaking oil. I had made an appointment at the local dealership but then realized that I should drop by Les Schwab first. After explaining that my car was leaking oil but before I could even ask, Mike asked me "So do you want us to check it out for you?" After replying yes that would be great, Mike informed me that it would be zero charge. They quickly had my car up and checking it out. Mike updated me that it was a bad oil plug, that they had already ordered it, told me it would be there soon and they would have it fixed shortly. AWESOME!! It makes me wonder if the dealership would have been as honest and quick. I know definitely not as inexpensive! I brought my brand new dually to Les Schwab for its very first tire rotation ever. The employees told me the tires would need to be dismounted from the wheels in order to rotate them properly. I trusted their expertise and approved the work. At no point before the work began did anyone inform me that removing the dealer-installed clip-on wheel weights could reveal or result in damage to my wheels. Had I been informed of that risk, I would have discussed alternative options before authorizing the service. When I picked up my truck, I found scratches on my wheels and hubcaps. It appeared that little effort was made to protect them or minimize further damage during the process. Instead of trying to find a reasonable solution, the manager simply told me to "just get them polished" and that I should "expect that to happen every time because that's the process and they can't do anything about it." They showed no interest in taking responsibility, preventing future damage, or making the situation right. I shouldn't have to pay to get my wheels re-finished every time I get the tires rotated. Costumers are not experts in the field . Communication about the risks before the work is performed is a must. I left with damaged property and no resolution . Customers should never receive their vehicle back from a service appointment in worse condition than when they dropped it off. Damage may not always be avoidable, but clear communication, careful workmanship, and accountability should always be part of the service. read more

I came in this morning to request a pre-trip safety check on my GMC Terrain. A few minutes after checking in, my service technician Matt informed me that one of my tires wasn't safe to travel with, but unfortunately they didn't have my tires in stock. Matt took the initiative to make a call to order a new tire and it arrived later this afternoon. He reached out to me, informing me that the tire arrived, at the time he called I was in a work meeting and wouldn't be out for an hour or so. He reassured me that he would wait, even if was 5 minutes before closing, he would ensure my vehicle was repaired and safe to drive for my long trip tomorrow. My tire was also covered under warranty so all of my services were complimentary. I was so impressed with his commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction. Both were so honest, efficient with time and above all kind. They also take time to explain and give education if there is an issue to understand options. Tracy California Location: I am very sad to say that this place has gone downhill in recent years, and it just isn't what it used to be. From overpriced tires to using cheap MOOG parts to rebuild front ends, you are better off going elsewhere. They quoted me over $3k for a front-end job! Baffled by this, I used their quoted part numbers and found every exact part on Amazon for 1/4 of the price they were quoting me. I understand that part markups are an inevitable part of business and their overall profit margins, but 300-400% markups (compared to Amazon) are ridiculous! I saved thousands of dollars by ordering the exact same parts myself off Amazon (If I'm going to use MOOG, may as well get it cheaply). Also, after rebuilding my front end, I wanted to give them another chance and brought my vehicle in for an alignment. Long story short, they didn't center my steering at all, so my vehicle still wasn't driving straight despite me paying them to align it. I had to go to Amigos down the road and pay them to align it as well. So Les Schwab essentially took my money and did nothing. I have spent a great deal of money here in recent years, only to leave disappointed every single time. They used to give much better service than this, but with how slow they are, even with an appointment, you're honestly better off going to Costco or America's (Discount) Tire and getting higher quality tires anyway. read more

I called to get a quote for wheel alignment, the gentleman spoke with me did not ask what kind of car I have so I assumed these prices are for all AWD. However, I made a special trip and went to the store, just to find out that for my specific car the price is much higher. I called Les Schwab before even going there and asked for a estimate for a set of tires meaning all 4 tires he then tells me after looking it up $217, I then said for all 4 tires and he said yes , I didn't think nothing of it I had seen a Walmart tire price at 49.99 a tire so I was thinking ok maybe that's just the cost of the tires then they charge the tax and hourly install, nope ! I drive over takes me over 30 mins I start talking to him and I said hi I'm here for the $217 what is the cost with tax and install he then shows me a paper and says it's about a little over 10. I'm like 10 what I look down and my 2002 Dodge beat up Dakota is about to get a a 1,000 and some change tires , I looked him dead in the face and the looks at me like this is normal, at that point I didn't even want to argue I just said no thanks , I went across the street to Walmart got those same tires for $400 with a 60k warranty. Good luck if you have any custom items near your tires. Every single time I've brought my car in for tire replacements, the custom stem covers my wife bought me for my birthday disappear. I have to force the tire mechanic to go looking for them and luckily, they were found, sometimes in the trash. This has happened at least four times, this time though, I forgot to check and now they are gone for good since it's been a few month's since I had the work done. Calling the store is hopeless, and they don't even suggest that they will replace them for me. Thanks Les! Today, we had the best Customer Service Experience. We were on the freeway and hit a road hazard. Soon our low air pressure light came on so we headed for Les Schwab in Tracy. As we entered the Parking lot, our tire blew out and we limped into the Les Schwab parking lot where Mark ran out and greeted us. He immediately reassured us that he could help us, took our keys and moved our car into a bay. We went inside and were immediately greeted by Kiley who started our work order. I was really shocked & disappointed. I had an appointment plus I showed up 30 minutes early to have my brakes and rotors replaced and I ended up without my car for the entire day (7 hours!). I waited in store for about 1.5 hrs, then I asked the guy at the counter if he could check how much longer & he came back saying 1-2 hours left. I chose to go home and wait & it's a good thing I did because it took nowhere near 1-2 hrs! Which I was not expecting at all. Plus the communication sucked all around. I told the guy who checked me that I wanted new brakes & rotars. I explained how I know I need them, that I had paid for the front ones to be replaced recently & now it's time for the back because it was $400 when I did the front and I couldn't afford both at the time. I also explained that the car was making the usual noise and shaking the whole car whenever I used the brakes. But when the mechanic came to talk to me he had NO CLUE about any of it. He told me he couldn't get some part off without damaging my brakes so I'd have to come back when he has the right tool to take it off. When I explained to him that I'm getting new brakes anyways the man was shocked. I explained everything to him & he was very irritated because the guy never said anything so he pretty much wasted our time. On top of that the price was outrageous! Over $500 for brakes/rotars is absolutely absurd. Had I known it was going to cost that much i would have went elsewhere. They didn't mention cost until it was time to pay. I should have asked, but I genuinely didn't expect it to be more than $400 since even the $400 I had paid for the front was ridiculous. They completely robbed me. The only good thing about this place was that they were willing to provide me a ride home & a ride back once my car was done. I would never use them again, absolutely not. read more

Because all of my other cars had Les Schwab tires installed I made contact with "Mike" and explained the situation. He told me to come in for a complimentary repair. Upon arrival the lady at the counter ran my account and then the data for my "new Jeep"and she immediately said. "You're lucky those tires are our brand sold by Les Schwab ". I went in yesterday after work to schedule an appoint to hacve new wheels put on my vehicle. I had to wait 10-15 minutes before someone came in to help me. I told that gentleman what I needed and he told me that he'd have to get a manager to schedule it. So I waited another couple of minutes and talked to someone (should have gotten their name). He took my information and told me to come back tomorrow at 4:15. So I did. However when I got there and after waiting for about another 10 minutes, I was told that they couldn't find the appointment and they "never schedule for 4:15". So I waited in line all that time for nothing. I used to have good customer service there and always recommended Les Schwab to family and friends. However that will now change as I will recommend that they go elsewhere from now on as I will never go back again. read more

While my family and I were on a big 5 week western US road trip, we lost a wheel on our travel trailer off the 5 near Tracy, CA. We limped the trailer over to the guys at Les Schwab and Mike, the manager, took a look and noted we would also need a new axle, he spent an hour of his time calling every trailer dealer and trailer repair company in town and in Stockton that he trusted to try and help us out given we were on the road and not local. He ultimately recommended Coachworks to get us back on the road, which did. We ended up getting a new wheel and tire from through Les Schwab to replace the one resting in a field somewhere.
