So I made one and then came back for my appointment and watched three men walk in without an appointment and get helped before I was. Today I am here with my daughter (her choice). There was no one here at the time of her appointment. She had an appointment and we went for a coffee and came back an hour later they hadn't started yet! Brakes Plus - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Erie, Colorado

I had an appointment for an oil change at 9 a.m. today. They started the work at 10:35, and I was driving out at 11:00. That's _2 hours_ for an oil change. The tech said that's just the way it is because they are so busy; "Sorry about that." In addition, my car takes 5.1 quarts of oil. Brakes Plus billed me for a 6th quart because they "can't charge for 0.1 quart per corporate policy." That's the first time in the 10 years I have owned this car that any service center has charged me for an extra quart of oil. I immediately stopped at the Valvoline "15-minute oil change" shop two blocks away and asked about their policy. Answer: "5 quarts." Guess where I will be going for my next oil change. If I were the manager there (totally hypothetical) I would soften the long wait by not padding the bill with extra oil. But no, they piled it on. That's the last time I go to Brakes Plus -- I don't trust them to be on my side. There are other places to get my oil changed and wheels aligned where I won't have to be on my guard against up-selling and surprise charges. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change and a couple of minor things. I was a few minutes early. An hour later, my car was moved inside. An hour later, the manager came in and asked me to take a look at something. The upsell has begun! He pointed out something under the car. Yada yada yada, he really tries to hard sell me on a $1000 fix. I declined. An hour later I asked the status of my car. They are short handed, as is everyone. I understand that, which is why I made the appointment. An hour later, I finally drive out. They are very friendly, I doubt I will return as even with an appointment I was there 4 stinkin hours and I HATE that upsell technique, "can I show you something". read more

It was only a short wait. They have friendly and capable staff with integrity. I appreciated that customers could wait outside as well as inside. They gave me a nice printout and an honest opinion. I'm not one to leave bad reviews I usually will just not return to a business if I'm not happy. But this situation should be told. I went here based on a neighbor's recommendation. I will not return. I went for an alignment and was told I needed approximately $1500 in repairs and they would call me the next day with full estimate and schedule when parts arrived. It has now been a week and no one has called me back with details etc. What a surprise! I went to a different garage and they gave me an estimate and stated that what I was told was wrong and my work was completed the same day for less than half (including additional oil change) of what brakes plus told me. During my visit at Brakes plus I also witnessed a customer waiting for 2 hrs for a simple oil change. The reason for the delay was they didn't have the filter in stock. I wish local businesses luck but sadly If they continue this direction I can't imagine to many satisfied customers. Be sure to get a second opinion!!! read more

I went in for my first only change as a young adult and i went in showed my car to them a week before and made an appointment. When i arrived for my appointment they told me it was going to take 3 hours for my oil change. So i waited in their lobby for 3 hours! Then after i paid at the end I was informed that they did not have my oil filter. Which basically made the whole oil change pointless. And they still charged me for the oil filter! So $90 dollar oil change that was pointless. I felt i was super taken advantage of because they knew I was young. Totally unacceptable! Would not recommend brakes plus! read more

I got an Oil Change here and these dipsticks (morons) did not tighten the oil filter. My Truck is now totaled. They did have the decency to call me back and tell me my issues are due to the truck being high mileage and not them neglecting to tighten the oil filter. They did not take any responsibility! He said he likes to hear the negative as well as the positives so they can learn from it. Well, that's great for them but it cost me a damn truck. Seems like knowing how to tighten an oil filter should be a requirement for employment here, but apparently they hire idiots and expect them to learn by making mistakes on customers vehicles. This place is a complete Joke - do not take your vehicle here!!!! RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE: I already notified your corporate office and this is the outcome. GM Shane and staff are absolutely fantastic. Was having problematic starting issues with our Ford Explorer. Shane went above and beyond to give us fast service, getting us out the door quickly. He ensured we were happy with the service, and topped off levels in our vehicle himself, while the technicians worked on it (completely unrelated to the issue!).
