Went here with two separate cars for an oil change and they tried to up sell me almost 1K worth of things. Even said I needed new tires when I just purchased some and even tried to ask which month to still push their narrative. Same thing happened with the second car I took saying my alignment was off and my tires needed work. A guy following me was charged for 1K stuff too and I'm sure they lied to him as well. I took my Toyota 4 runner to brakes plus on the North side store in Pueblo after it had developed a bumpy ride.They told me that I needed to replace the suspension system that would cost me 1748.00 .I had the work done and still continued to have the same problem.I took the car back and was told they just needed to replace the shocks which they did. That still did not fix the problem.I go back and am now being told that I gave them permission to take out the hydraulic system.They are full of it.They are thieves.Why would I pay that much money to have the same results just newer parts.They will take your money even without resolving your problem. read more

My elderly mother had an alignment done and the workers tried to upsell struts which she definitely did not need. After leaving, there was oil residue in the wheel wells and the car started to make noises. She was on her long journey home and stopped at a repair shop. My daughter was getting a new car and gave me her old one. I took it on a road trip and noticed that the front brakes needed new rotors as the car shook when I braked going downhill. I took it to Brakes Plus since that was where she had been having it serviced. They tried to upsell me a total front end rebuild. I told them to just replace the rotors, which they did. When I took the car out on the highway the next day, the alignment was WAY off. Either they didn't bother to check it after replacing the rotors or deliberately messed it up. Either way, I didn't take it back and will never go to Brakes Plus again. read more

I took my sons car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and an alignment. The manager called me back and said the ball joint boots were leaking. I told him to go ahead and fix them, he called me back and said it was going to cost more because the ball joints were connected to the control arm. I told him to go ahead and fix them. The problem I have is, after the job was done I looked up the price of the parts. He charged me over 50 percent more than the parts actually cost. I called him, and he got upset and told me he had to keep the lights on and pay other bills. We all have to keep the lights on and pay other bills. He lost a customer that has been going there for years. I understand a little up charge, but not over 50 percent! And one more thing, I called my son this evening to ask how the vehicle is running and he said it's running exactly the same as it was prior to the repair! Buyer beware! read more

INCOMPETENT and DISHONEST. My heater was out. I took it to Brakes Plus and was told it was the actuator. They replaced it. The very next day I got into the car to go somewhere and was surprised to find that the heater was not working and now the defrost button was lighting up. That was new. I took it back to Brakes Plus and was told that they must have put a defective actuator into my vehicle because it was not working and now another actuator was out. They wanted to charge me again for another actuator. Laughable. I asked to speak with the manager because I was not going to pay for a part that was no longer working since it was caused by the "defective part" that Brakes Plus installed. I was never given to the manager. He or she "was in a meeting". I was told they would replace both actuators at no charge. Good! Welp. Once again the heater worked for the drive home from the shop and the very next day did not work. I took my vehicle to Jeremy's Garage instead. I was told one of the actuators was clearly broken and had actually been opened up (which it shouldn't have been) and that is why my heater was not working. Surprise surprise, it appears Brakes Plus never actually replaced my actuator. They lied. And they lied about replacing it a second time. And they tried to charge me a second time for a part they didn't even replace the first time. I can't believe they attempted to Mickey Mouse my car. Forget this company. Don't take your car here. They are dishonest. I will never be back. read more

Speedy and thorough repairs, but I will not be returning to this establishment due to feeling like they've been milking me dry of money ($1,900) forcing me to get their credit card which has a ridiculously high interest rate. Also, they have questionable practices such as non-itemized bills, they repair more parts than necessary, and I believe they've rigged my car to have future problems forcing me to return to them since I can't afford to pay the entire repair bills at once. Just after bringing my car to them with one minor problem, it turned into multiple repairs and shady explanations from both the GM and Supervisor of Brakes Plus. The work is good, but dishonest practices to milk people of their hard earned money, IMO. Plus the prices are jacked up for such little work. A tune up of just replacing spark plugs and the boots cost almost $600 and ended up with more problems after the tune-up! I will not be returning here for any reason unless I have no other choice! Took my car in for front wheel alignment. One of my hobbies is in auto mechanics. I usually make all repairs in my well tooled garage. One thing I do not do is wheel alignments due to the type of expense equipment needed for doing the job. Anyway, I came in for alignment job that they advertise for around $70. They ended up telling me they could not perform the alignment because my vehicle needed upper and lower ball joints replaced first. OK I said and asked for an estimate to see how much was involved. They quoted me 465.00 in parts and about 480.00 in labor/tax for a grand total of $955.00. Knowing my ability to repair my own car I told them I would reschedule for another date. I bought my own parts (2 upper and two lower ball joints) that they were going to install for about (105.00) total. When I inspected the parts removed discovered that the lower joints were not required. People beware of these guys and always get a second opinion before paying large amounts of money for repairs. By the way this was not the first time this happen. A year ago other vehicle got a bigger list of parts required for front end work because I knew it needed some work. So again parts bill was about 900.00 (actual costs for me was 225.00). Labor was 1600.00. My estimate was around 2500.00. And I only needed half the parts they said needed to be replaced. read more

Awesome experience with this shop! I was traveling and this crew helped me with a late evening severe alignment issue that I was having mid trip. I could not ask for a better experience with a repair on the road. A family of five and a dog, "stranded" they transported us to a nice restaurant so we could spend our time while waiting, eating and continue our journey as soon as the work was completed. I have been going to the North side Brakes Plus since 1998. The only time I stopped was when location manager Donn left and I had a hard time trusting my repairs to anyone else. Boy am I glad he is back! Car repairs are never good-They always come at the worst times and are rarely inexpensive but knowing my family's safety is in good hands and my pocket book won't be completely wiped out is why I've stayed with Donn. My repairs have always been done right and at a fair price. Every business, even Walmart and Amazon have to make money. There are no exceptions if you plan to stick around . But I've never felt taken advantage of here. My concerns about repair and price have always been taken into consideration. Repairs explained and broke down before and afterwards. Donn has always treated me and my family like family and I couldn't appreciate him more. Hello, I went to brake's plus at 5715 Palmer park Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915. I made an appointment for 11:00 am to get my brake's serviced. The reason I went to them was because they are the ones that replaced my brake's in the first place. Mind you they are still under the warranty that they gave me. Well when I left my car the young man said he will call me when it is ready for pick up. Well when he called me, it was around 1:15 pm, then he said that they would not be able to replace the Brake Pads because they needed new rotors. then he went on to tell me that it would be a $300.00 charge. I could not believe what he was saying to me. I'm so unhappy with this place, and the way they try and charge women extra money. Now 3 days before this I went and got 4 new tires for my car at a different Tire location, this place showed me my pads and rotors, they said I only needed the pads. I spoke with the General Manager Mr. JR Taylor. He repeated to me that they(Brake's Plus) cant do them. Being the wife of a Military person, I don't think any woman should take there car to this place. FRAUD PRACTICES!! Does not even deserve 1 star!!! Tried to charge me $789 for repairs to my vehicle but I couldn't afford them. Got a print out from Brakes Plus of recommended services and took my car to the dealership in hopes some of the repairs would be covered by my warranty. Turns out I didn't need ANYTHING that was "recommended" by Brakes Plus and what it really needed, an alignment and a seal fixed on the axel, only cost $264. Brakes Plus said I needed new brakes all the way around and a new tie rod. The lead technician at the dealership said my brakes were still new and were not even at the yellow warning mark yet and there was nothing wrong with my tie rod. The person at Brakes Plus started by quoting me the highest price possible on the phone then kept lowering it by removing things "I could do without" and adding coupons when I said I couldn't afford it. Brakes plus is horrible, when I dropped my car off they asked for a spare key, I go in to my glove box wich was perfectally fine to get my valet key.. the next week I pick up mycar and on my way to work that night i go to put my spare key in my glove box... When I proceeded to open my glove box one side of it completely fell to the ground one of the hinges was completely snapped off.. I called to explain to brakes plus that my glove box was broken in their facility and they need to fix it..but all the owner could say is we weren't in your glove box... Yet the handle had greese on it.. and on top of my owners manual in my glove boxe lay a peice of paper with calorbrations on it.. on a note pad with the company name right on top.. after going backand fouth they told me they would pay for half of the price to fix it.. being as they broke it that's completely unethical. I called corporate where coustomer service said I'm not looking in to it Im going to go with my manager on this. I am uunbelievably livid, this is the most scamming company and since it happened I've been telling everyone I know, most people come back with of they broke so and so on my car.. oh they tried to take my lugnuts off with the wrong tool and charged me 400$ for it... All they want is their money. They are careless with your car and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. I will never go there again and I suggest no one else does either. read more
