The ambience was good though we were seated in the first room behind the main dining room which has less flair and ambience than the main room, but understood because it was a busy 5:30pm seating on Valentines. The fish and chips were overdone, I have never had fish a much deeper dark brown than the fries, which were golden. The fries were way-oversized potato wedges, which don't work well as fries. The tartar sauce and pickled cabbage were delicious along with the mushy peas. My girlfriend had the Cobb salad with chicken which was passable but not special. Beer - only 3 on tap and the lager I had was very poor. Left half of it. The Sunday roast was disgusting - beef was tough and barely edible, the veg was either overcooked or raw. The Yorkshire wasn't too bad though. Service was ok, though the waitress chased me down the street telling me her machine hadn't accepted payment. I had to show her my Amex receipt. Definitely won't go there again. There were more staff than customers in there. read more

After a quick visit to a nearby pub, we were on the hunt for another joint to check out. Walking through the rain, we stumbled upon the Bramble Gastropub and noticed they had plenty of spots at the bar. Success! I was immediately impressed when I walked inside, as the place has plenty of cool decor and boasts a dimly-lit feel that I find irresistible. As I scanned the menu, I was eventually drawn to the Bramble Burger ("House ground, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Bramble berry relish"), which comes with fries. And I feel like I made the right choice because it's one tasty hamburger. I wouldn't rank it with the best in the city, but all the components were right on target and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The fries were great, too. I don't know why it took us so long to check out Bramble Gastropub, but I think it's safe to say we'll be returning sometime very soon. read more

This was one of our favorite restaurants while visiting the Toronto area and dined there twice while visiting because we enjoyed it so much! Bramble is a local mom & pop bistro nestled among the various shops on Blood Street W. They offer upscale pub food that is incredibly delicious! We had the fish and chips, burger, steak frites and the beet salad, which was our collective favorite. The gooseberries they add to the salad are a delightful treat! The service is friendly, they remembered us when we came back to dine again (which we found to be remarkable) and the eclectic and elegant interior design creates a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere! read more

Bramble Gastropub - Dining room and bar - Gastropubs Near Me - Etobicoke, Ontario

Have been walking by here for years and finally tried Bramble last night. It's an English inspired gastropub that has an amazing bar with a wide selection of wines to cocktails. The food menu is pretty good as well with something for every palette. Our reservation was for 8:30 and Bramble was packed. The decor here is unique with accent walls along with wallpaper. Do check out the washroom on the first floor as well; it has a unique homey look to it. As for the food, we were happy with everything that we ordered. The risotto was delicious; it is, however, only part of their Valentine's Menu (too bad). We also enjoyed the Chai Creme Brûlée as it was unique. Service was excellent and quite attentive. I'm a fan and can't wait to return to try other menu items. Bramble is certainly a gem in the Kingsway. Good for: lunch, dinner, drinks read more

What an amazing accident brought us to Bramble today. We had a reservation, for brunch, further west that was ignored. The place didn't open at our reserve time & no one inside. So, we had passed Bramble Gatropub on our way to this other establishment. We looked in, liked what we initially saw & stayed. What a delight. The decor is delightful & the lifesize portrait of the Queen Mom was the cherry on top. Now, sad to say, inside was not so busy & this is a puzzler. This is the best restaurant we have "stumbled upon" in ages. The waitstaff are delightful. The British accent was lovely. The attention to all the customers flawless & most importantly, nonintrusive! We were made to feel welcome. We were looked after in the best fashion. It was hot out & water was on the table before everyone set down. Two of us had the full English breakfast, thank goodness we had not eaten breakfast. Full English Sunny eggs, bangers, peameal bacon, black pudding, vine tomato, sauteed mushroom, maple beans, tater tots, toastIt was terrific. One of our companions had Bramble Banh, Black pudding, pork belly, peameal, pickled carrot & daikon, chilli butter, garlic aioli. Our other companion had Beef Burger, House ground, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mac sauce. We were all really happy with our meals plus this restaurant does something we have not seen in other restaurants, Half & Half - half salad half fries! Bloody Ceasars were excellent as well! My wife and I tried Bramble for the first time this evening, as it was recommended by some good friends. The restaurant is not that spacious, so reservations are recommended - we were lucky to find seats for 2 on a Tues. night. Because the place is small, the din is pretty loud, although we soon figured out that may have been a table beside us, as things quieted down after they left! The food was very good and servings ample, so very good value for money. The service was very attentive. What really stood out for my wife and i was the doorman/roaming server and Mennonite-bearded Colin who always seemed to be Johnny-on-the-spot. Colin was omni-present every time we needed something. We really thought he was the owner. Colin is the reason we will return with friends!! read more
