Dog Red + margarita on the rocks
    Catherine N.

Quiet Monday afternoon on the patio! We opted for their house beer (dog red) and a margarita on the rocks (since they don't carry gluten free beer which might I suggest would be a GREAT idea for bars to carry -- even if just having a few cans on hand to see if they move) Service was great and the food was good. Mussels were awesome and the ahi tuna club was good (could totally use more seasoning tho!) Overall, great local pub and the service would bring us back again without question!

What a treat! The interior of this restaurant feels like an upscale pub and the food and service were top notch. We ordered the baked brie which was to die for. I ended up skipping dessert and just finishing that instead. For main course we had the steak & shrimp which was cooked to perfection, and the pulled pork which melted in your mouth! Definitely coming back here to try the rest of the menu!

Extremely nice place and great service. I have ben here for the office XMas party. The twinfish and new york style chessecake was amazing, but the double lion lamp chop was big disappointment.

A local favourite in Port union. They have a cute rooftop patio and back garden patio. The food was good, big portions. Would come back to try the nachos, which seemed to be a very popular item!

We booked the private room for our work party. We knew we were in for something good when we arrived; it was packed and lively. The room was festively decorated and spacious; far too large for our crowd, it could easily host 30 people. We were taken care of my 1 wonderful server and given the regular menu and the specials and they both looked delicious. We started with appetizers...many of them. Bacon Wrapped Scallops(pictured), Nachos, Platter for Two(pictured..mmmm), Coconut Tiger Shrimp(AMAZING), Calamari and Veggie Spring Rolls. I didn't get to sample everything, but considering how fast they went, I assume they were good. The nachos were fantastic as were the sweet potato fries and calamari. I ordered the Stuffed Chicken from the specials. It was bursting with goat cheese, asparagus and peppers. Loved it. A few people ordered the Prime Rib Special but, none of them left a morsel on their plates. Another popular choice was the Halibut and Chips. The piece of fish was huge and the fries were plentiful. The service was fantastic. She handled our crazy little group very well. She kept the drinks and our tummies full. It was a great venue for our party! Everyone loved it!

I've been here a few times and I always have a good time. I actually really like coming in the summer because of the patio. The inside dining is cute, but kinda dark. Staff are always so friendly and on top of it, and it's one of those place that the staff will start to recognize you after a few visits. In terms of the food; I've managed to try a few things on the menu. Most of their food has that pub vibe (still good though)... the things that I love are below and I have included pictures too! 1. Tropical Grilled Chicken Salad - Probably one of my favorite salads! It has grilled chicken (always juicy), mango salsa, avocado, walnuts, and goat cheese. Very Filling and love the colors and presentation. 2. Baked Bruschetta Flatbread - Fresh Tomatoes, Onions, basil, and feta cheese (SO GOOD) 3. Sweet Potato Fries - Ask for extra crispy, they are a great side! Really enjoy the atmosphere & food! Keep Eating, Angela

This little pub so more than it meets the eye. They have a cozy feel that makes you think your eating at home and they have a good selection of dishes to choose from along with features of the day. Portions are good and good is tasty and they have a live band at night. Winner!

This place is truly a hidden gem burried all the way east down in the Rogue Valley area. Lucky for me I live in the area so my only regret is Why I never checked this place out sooner! As we pull up to the packed parking lot (always a good sign) we are lucky to snag a spot as someone was pulling out otherwise be prepared to park on the boardering streets. Definitely make reservations!! (learned this the hard way on a previous attempt) The pub was packeddd! As we entered I didn't see a hostess but the bartender was kind enough to point us in the right direction, telling us to head to the main dining room which was just off to the left. There I saw the hostess desk. Our table for our party of four was waiting for us with a reserved sign placed in the centre. The dining room itself is rather small but cozy equipped with a wood burning fire place. Dim lighting, wall papered walls with framed paintings mostly of Black Dogs and aged wooden tables complete the decor. The menu contains a good selection of traditional pub fare, a creative sandwich line up, health conscious options and hearty quality mains. The also have daily specials and desserts to keep things lively. To start we decide to order a Pizza (changes daily) from the specials menu. Smoked Chicken Pizza - Golden crisp crust, with a smokey bbq base, ample amounts of gooey melty cheese, carmelized onions and tender strips of smoked chicken totally knocked our socks off. A great start to a fab meal! I'm a definite sandwich lover and after seeing there impressive line up I knew a wanted to try one! But there was one winner that definitely drew me in! Smokehouse Pulled Pork Sandwich + sweet potato fries -Smoked In House for 16 hours tossed with carmelized onions and guiness bbq sauce on a toasted 9 grain ciabatta bun First off this was a massive a sandwich and no skimping on meat they definitely piled it on. The meat was soo tender and juicy and you could definitely taste depth of smokiness with a good coating of that delicious guiness bbq sauce and those yummy carmelized onions. I was in heaven! Sweet potato fries were also pretty good! Other orders at the table included Shepherd's pie + fresh cut fries - Huge pie, quality ingredients with rich filling topped with creamy whipped potatoes. And those fresh cut fries are a must try also! Bangers and Mash - Grilled English sausages, house made mashed potatoes and gravy, served with rustic baked beans Needless to say this plate was left spotless. Crunchy Spinach Salad + Grilled Steak -Baby spinach, housemade sunflower raspberry vinaigrette, toasted walnuts, crispy bacon, craisins, mandarin oranges, bermuda onions, goat cheese and oven roasted portbello mushrooms Hearty salad with fresh quality ingredients and perfectly cooked medium steak For Desserts we ordered the Carmel Crunch Cake and Chocolate Banana Cake. Again both cakes were Hugeee slices. We loved both the cakes moist delicious gorgous just yummmm! Overall Fantastic Food, Hugee portions, and Top notch friendly service! Far passed our expectations, I can definitely see why this place is always packed! If there was ever a reason to treck all the way to the East end I believe this is it! But definitely make reservations first! FYI Live entertainment every Thursday & Saturday @ 9:00pm A full out band was performing oldies and country music on the bar side and few people even broke out into dance.

Service from the bartender was great. He offered up some suggestions, which I needed because they have a large menu loaded with so many appetizing and amazing looking options. I started with their potstickers... They came out with a hard, fried shell and the dipping sauce went nicely with them. Enough to share, or even enough to enjoy and still have room for an entrée. My main dish was their Chicken & Waffle. This isn't some ordinary chicken and waffle, it's definitely an amped up version, made with unique and interesting ingredients, culminating in great flavors! The chicken was so large and very tender - it was amazing! The bacon and sauce on top went with it nicely, and the chive waffle was great with it! Each bite was definitely amazing! This was a great experience, I can see why they have so many reviews and such high stars, those are well-deserved stars!! Definitely recommend stopping in here!

I like that you don't have to go through the sports complex to get to this restaurant. I parked in the parking lot in front of this eatery. There are steps to go up to get to the restaurant. It's also wheelchair-accessible with a ramp. Bar down is a hockey term. When a hockey player shoots the puck and it hits the bottom of the crossbar first, followed by going straight into the net, it's bar down. Some folks also call it bar south. We were a group of four. It was a thrill for me to get to check out the kitchen. Jody and Chris were kind to give us a tour and were delightful hosts. We also got to meet the chef, John Charles, who is the mastermind behind the dishes. We ordered way too much food. We wanted to sample lots of it. We did! Our order consisted of these items: - BarDown smash burger with fries - Truly Canadian Detroit-style pizza - Jerk chicken penne - Buttermilk chicken tenders - Cajun roasted red pepper and garlic parm wings, with fries - Ahi tuna poke - BarDown nachos - Street fish tacos I got multiple refills on Diet Pepsi. Each glass of it was crisp and delightful. This restaurant is on City of Whitby property. The city has a contract with Pepsi, so it's Pepsi products here. It was nice seeing customers watching the Blue Jays spring training. This eatery houses the largest screen in the city. Wow! The BarDown smash burger was excellent. It has two beef patties that were juicy with crispy edges. The bun was yummy and held everything together, including the pickles. It was excellent! The truly Canadian Detroit-style pizza has an odd name, but it is Canadian. It had mushrooms, which made me happy. It also had pepperoni, bacon, and peppers, with a side of ranch. I liked the crispy edges and yummy toppings. The herbed tomato sauce was awesome! If you like a spicy kick, get the jerk chicken penne. The penne was al dente. The jerk chicken was tender. The heat kicks in slowly after your first bite and builds. The flavours were perfect. So good! This place is known for its buttermilk chicken tenders. I was in heaven enjoying one. It was juicy and had the best crunch. I dipped it in the plum sauce. Yum! I also loved the coleslaw that accompanied the tenders. It was crunchy and delicious. The fries were excellent. We got generous portions. I loved them. The ridges were perfect to get more ketchup or whatever condiment you like. I love wings. This eatery makes fabulous wings. Each one was huge. Both the cajun roasted red pepper and garlic parm wings were meaty and yummy. I loved the veggies, which made me feel like I was eating something healthy-ish. My favourite item was the ahi tuna poke. Think nachos, but with wonton crisps. The tuna was crusted in white and black sesame. It had avocado, pico, pineapple salsa, pickled chili, ginger soy, sriracha aioli, and cilantro crema. Fabulous! It was incredible. I am still dreaming about it. You get a generous portion of BarDown nachos. The spicy beef chili was amazing with the melted cheese, pico, and nachos chips. The street tacos were so bright and scrumptious. We got beer-battered fish, with shredded lettuce, pineapple salsa, slaw, and cilantro lime crema. The fish was flaky and yummy. This place makes such a great pineapple salsa. I loved how light and bright these tacos were. It's a family-friendly establishment. I saw a group of young hockey boys with their parents eating at a long table after their game. The hockey arena has a concession stand that sells your usual hot dogs, chips, pop, pizza, and more. It runs independently from this eatery. I used the washroom a couple of times during the three hours that were were here. The women's washroom was exceptionally clean. No issues. This eatery is on Skip the Dishes. I had a wonderful experience having lunch with friends. The food is excellent. I'd return in a heartbeat. (74)

This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!

The duck confit was unexpected large in portion for $19 which was a nice surprise. It was also good, but could have used a starch to soak up the sauce as the dish tasted pretty salty without a starch. I guess if they added a starch it would have become an entree not an app so it could be tweaked better for an app. Finally the wings were very disappointing. There wasn't much meat and they were way overfried. It was so dry and not tossed in enough sauce. The ranch sauce was the best part of that plate. I ordered a cappuccino at the end and it was way too milky. I expected better since they have the whole espresso machine get up. Overall it was decent. If I'm in the area again I'd give it another shot.
