Enjoyed an 18 hole tournament with some friends from my community. It was a nice day for golf. The staff is efficient. Our 10am tee time started off early. The golf carts are nice for these old bones, less stress for us. The course is clean and well maintained. Parking is plentiful: there a nice putting green that is used by many. read more

If you want to play at a course you pay taxes to have maintained but feel like you're being judged every time you check-in for a tee time, get kicked off a course for playing through 8 holes during twilight with plenty of sunlight left to still see your balls, and then get threatening comments when you show up 10-15 min later than they tell you to finish in plenty of daylight left (ex. "I'll remember your faces!"), then this is the place for you... I've never in all my years of playing golf experienced such hostility and disrespect at a course. I originally drove back with the cart feeling a bit guilty for being a few minutes late, but the attitude I received quickly remedied that feeling. Here's a thought: if you don't want people to play until it's actually dark, then don't schedule tee times past a certain point! I've never had an issue playing until the visibility becomes an issue. I'll never play here again, so no problem with anyone "remembering our faces." I wish I gave attitude to justify the hostility I received... but it just came as a shock. read more

Surprised to see that there was a group of members/ golfers teeing off prior to the first available teetime on the member booking system. As it turns out this privileged member/ golfer does not have to book a teetime through the normal NOVA Parks golf member teetime reservation process. Instead the Brambleton GC staff creates a special teetime ahead of first teetime that is available through NOVA Parks member reservation teetime. I'll note that this was not an outing, or a league play, and it happens on a regular basis. If this is a NOVA Parks management endorsed booking process, it should be advertised and made available to all members and other prospective Brambleton GC golfers. Otherwise it is utterly an unfair situation. All other NOVA Parks golf members who are not afforded this privilege, and looking to get the first in the morning tee-times at Brambleton GC, have to get up at Midnight two weeks prior, and compete for the early teetimes. read more

Beautiful grounds golf course and driving range has preset tees so that's convenient! I was in the driving range today shooting 100s range and surprised to see there were deers just above 100 range! Beautiful day today and the staff was nice. The only thing I would change is getting a bigger bucket because the small is only 35 balls. It went quick! Still it's a 5 min drive so it is convenient to get to than my other fav golf course, 1757. read more

Solid course which is lush from tee to green. The best thing about it is how walkable the course is (but you will be walking through a ton of goose droppings). The greens are usually in good shape, but they're very slow. Regulars also call it "No Break Brambleton" because the greens are pretty flat, definitely the flattest I have seen in a very long time. One thing I liked is they grew out the rough, so it's pretty penalizing. Tree lined course, but the hitting areas are pretty generous (except a couple of holes including a beast of a par 5 on the front 9). One hint, don't cut the dogleg on 16. It won't work/isn't worth it. Lastly, one putting green and one chipping green which are nice, although the putting green's fringe leads to the first hole's blue tee box. The range, in terms of mats and balls, might be the worst I've seen in Virginia. The mats are thin slivers so it feels like you're hitting off of concrete. It's definitely not good for the joints and hands. And $5.50 for 30 golf balls? No thanks. Thankfully everyone I've met there has been extremely nice. They even have a marshal actually checking on the speed of play which was surprising for a muni. It's a course I'd play at least once a year. read more

As a relative newbie (5 years) golfer, I only play public courses. Brambleton is a wonderful course/club to play! Despite weather challenges in 2018, I played in a very competitive ladies league and found the course to be in the best condition of all the local public courses! 1. Finally some good weather to play golf and after 7 holes (having payed for 9) with still plenty of daylight marshal came around and kicked us off the course. Strange thing is just yesterday we played Brambleton's sister course, Algonkian, and they let us play until the sun went down. 2. Cart policy is a rip-off. If you want to rent a boat, car, camper, hotel room, etc. you just pay for what you are renting. However, golf cart rental at Brambleton is per person! read more

Do not play here!!! Not only is it extremely overpriced for a below average golf course, but the staff is incredibly rude. My foursome was teeing off on hole 8 when we were rudely told to pack it up and head in at 4:40. There were at least 30 minutes left of daylight and yet we were harassed and forced to go in even though we were walking! Not only that but the starter sent out the 3:10 PM tee time before our 3:00 PM tee time even though we went to check in at 2:55. There are far better golf courses in the nova area for the same price. it was 2nd time picking up my clubs this summer and I was very rusty, lucky for me course was not too long even from blue tee box, 6764 yards. Course didn't have too much vertical nor drops but few sharp bank turns and long par 3 holes. Greens Fees are Monday-Thursday - $30.00 Friday-Sunday & Holidays- $37.00 with cart rental $27.17 Although green fee is fair but cart rental is a bit high, good thing course is short enough to walk. Drink cart service was great, friendly, and beer was $3, it's not surprise to see $4 ~ 6 in other golf course so it's a great deal with green fee and beer as long you are ok with walking the course. how did I play? a par, a par save, bunker 10/18, longest drive (b/c only one on the fairway)... shot 107 - haha read more

A great, woman friendly, super playable course! The course is in pretty great condition and the staff can't be nicer. It was the hottest day and they offered everyone free ice cream at the turn! If they could move it closer to DC, that would be better, but I will schlep there again! read more

Played there on Wednesday morning, 5/14/14. Hadn't played out there in well over a year. Noticed right away that they've spent some time on the course, at least in regards to my last visit. Tee boxes were great, fairways in excellent shape, and greens were very good. The green side bunkers though is where one will see the most improvement, very nice as compared to before. One thing I've always liked about this course is that they do let the rough grow -- if you don't hit it in the fairway, or miss a green, you could end up in the deep stuff -- which I like! Another big improvement I noticed was the service -- in the past I wouldn't say it was great, but today from check-in, dealing with the starter, to the marshals, it was A+! I'll be back! read more

I'm a NVRPA member and have only played this course once, think it was summer of '10. My home course is Algonkian and my league friends had decided it was a little too busy and wet to play at the "non-draining" GONK. Played Sunday 4/3/11 Surprised to see that Brambleton had already opened up the fairways to 90deg. Course seemed in great shape, but my friends were saying their lies were terrible. I'm roughly 50yards longer off the tee then them and never noticed any bad spots. Not one bad lie all day, never noticed any bare spots. To me the course was fantastic, except for the recently punched greens. Probably gave a couple of strokes away due to uneven putting lines and the occassional hop off punch holes. Landed in the bunker twice here and both times able to land it within 5ft of the hole (sand seemed very lose compared to The GONK). Can't wait til the greens recover from their spring punching. I'll definately be out here again and again this summer. read more

This course is in great shape and is generally a good bargain. However, golf course management requires attention to PACE OF PLAY. On Saturday, September 5th, we teed off at 12:10 and did not finish until 5:25!! The course had zero marshals. What a shame. read more

Probably the worst course I have ever played. Not so because the course was terrible but for varying reasons I will now list. 1: I felt the course was over priced $41 for twilight rate plus 15.50 a person for carts. For a total of $56.50 for 18 holes. 2: I arrived 20 minutes early as was requested by the course as I went out to collect my cart and speak to the starter. I was told that I had already missed my tee time even though I was 20 minutes early. Then the course added a walker into my group (even though it was just a friend and myself in a cart). 3: The tee times were spaced so close together that there was a huge pile up of players, had to constantly wait to tee off or get to the greens. 4: IMO I know this has been a very dry summer but for $56 for twilight I would have thought the greens would have been in a little better condition ( huge amounts of aeration on the greens). 5: Last call was at 4:30 even though the course doesn't close until dusk. The only 2 positives I can add for this course is the beverage cart girl was very nice and helpful ( beverages were reasonable) and Brambleton is a good course for beginners. read more

For the money, there is not a better course in the area. The round is inexpensive, while being challenging, well maintained, and providing plenty of risk -reward shots for all skill levels. On top of being a great course, Brambleton has a GREAT kitchen. I have been there several times and consistently Emmett, who has been running the kitchen every-time I've been there, has always provided the best food for value in the area. I have played private and public courses all over, and no one has made a burger or sandwich as good as Emmett. So if you include how nice the course is, plus the value Emmett provides, why would you pay anywhere else at twice the price? read more

If you have the time, money and ability to play a better course then go for it. This is a solid county run course that I have been playing for 10 years or more. Relatively flat with some ups and downs to give it character and all of the greens are approachable. It's not Amen Corner at the Masters but the pac of play is typically good, the caliber of the course lets just about any talent level play and the amenities are good for a local Muni. While I realize it feels a little steep to some people, its generally a much better deal than the other public courses. read more

Thanks to the Brambleton staff for putting on their Easter Egg Hunt yesterday despite the cold weather. The moon bounce was nice for the kids and the egg hunt was started just before noon so the kids didn't have to wait in the cold too long. Overall it was a very nice event and we would do it again! read more

I consider this my "home course". The course is usually always in great shape and very easy to walk. The price is right and the staff (who are mostly volunteer) are very friendly. It is a fairly challenging course and usually pretty open on the weekdays if you can work around the various leagues and high school teams that practice there. read more

The staff here are abysmal. Incompetent at best. They do nothing to accommodate golfers, not let tee times fall behind or maintain pace of play. Avoid at all costs. The course is fun but the staff makes it almost unplayable. To make it worse when something is not right they blame the customer. It could be much better if they just tried a bit. read more

The course looked good and I was interested in trying the driving range. I went there with my two kids. We were on the end of the driving range. Near the end of our visit a elderly woman "golf teacher" rudely forced us to move from our position so that her student could hit balls from where we were. We were almost finished. There was no reserved sign to indicate that the space was reserved for lessons. She bullied us off the range. Not a good way to promote golf. Probably won't go back. read more

I have to take my children to golf once a week, and this is convenience course since it is closer to my house. We signed up for the golf membership here for two years now, and seem to have a good experience most of time. The course is well played and on the weekends in the summer it gets a little busy. I tend to try going during the week to miss those weekend crowds. The potting greens are in good shape. read more
