    Charred Octopus Tentacles (appetizer $27).
    Aiki J.

*The girl at the front desk wasn't cordial at all. *If you're not ordering dinner, you have to squeeze into the bar area or sit in the cold area by the windows on hard, metal seats. *You can only sit in the cushioned booths if you order dinner. The booths were empty. *The server was great, but it seemed like he could have used help. *The fries were good, but I couldn't taste the truffle or the parmesan. *The sodas tasted like tonic water. *The pizza was burned and thin as paper. *The risotto was greasy but good. *The $27 charred octopus appetizer had three, little, tentacles, about 2 inches long. *The atmosphere is very loud, so it's hard to talk when the front room has a lot of people. *Plenty of tight parking. *Dinners start at $34 for the cheapest entree.

Enjoyable dinner at Branca. Seated by emergency exit to new enclosed patio which was fine except hostesses kept using the door as a shortcut back to the host stand and we would get a blast of 15 degree air each time. Not going to ding them a star for that but could be avoided by walking back around. Both meals were delicious, well prepared, delivered in the right amount of time. Servers were attentive and friendly.

I like this Branca location best. It's a nice atmosphere but also not too elite fancy. For me I enjoyed the variety of appetizers better than my entree but it was all pretty good too. The pasta had a different texture from what I'm used to but I think it was the sauce. Also our server was very nice and attentive.

Branca is branc as hell! Yes i just made up the word "branc"' it means "bonza" which is Aussie for "dang as hell" which is slang American English for "this place rocks!" Yea, when u come into branca get yourself a bomb drink, a nice clean pie, maybe some frites or other mezza and of course the connolies! I can't wait to come back! Had a fantastic experience!

Burrata with roasted veggies, a meal on its own!

I am perplexed by some of the reviews...we're from out of state and visit during the summers. We've been a total of five times (last year and this year) and I've always been super impressed. Our service has always been perfect and the food is VERY good! During our last visit we had the Burrata with roasted veggies (SO much food! Could easily be a meal!), my husband had the linguine with lobster tails (so damn good!) and I had the Funghi pizza. I normally don't order pizza, but anything with mushrooms, goat cheese AND truffle oil? Done. It was freaking exquisite! Such an amazing balance of strong flavors...the proportions were perfect and I had a party in my mouth! We love sitting at the bar, but it was full when we got there, so we sat at a table. Our service was wonderful, but next time we'll try to get there early enough for a bar seat...it looked lively and fun! And for the person irked about people at the bar being near them and breathing on them? It's a bar area...crowded and fun, and we would have loved it!

Under new ownership. My friends were in town and wanted to grab dinner. There aren't many restaurants that are open on a Monday. It was easy to make a reservation, can be done online or over the phone. I left voicemail to change our reservations, I couldn't do it online since we had a big group. I called to confirm everything and no one had gotten the voicemail, it was eventually sorted. The menu is on a QR code. My friends and I ordered a bottle of wine and several appetizers. The frito misto was nice and light and the lightly flowered vegetables were done nicely. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce. We also ordered the margherita and funghi pizza. I like the magherita pizza over the funghi pizza, I personally do not like goat cheese. I love that its made in a brick oven. We did not get a a pizza spatula with either of our pizzas. Since Valentine's Day was the previous day, we were still allowed to order from the special menu. Half of my group ordered the steak and scallop Valentine's Day special. Two of the steaks were cooked wrong, it was suppose to be medium but it was cooked medium well. I ordered a shrimp scampi pasta, it was good, just a tad rich. Overall, my friends and I had a great time at Branca and enjoyed the atmosphere.

There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. My only critique is that the table arrangement is setup more like a restaurant than a lounge and the decor is a bit random. If they made it feel a bit more loungey, I think it would improve the overall vibe.

At $117 for the two of us, including tax and tip, we expected a lot more than we got. Let's start with the positives. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The building itself is a converted bank, and the old vault is a striking architectural feature, though we didn't dine in it. The restaurant also deserves credit for offering some vegan options, including one vegan entrée. That said, the issues outweighed the highlights considerably. The noise level was genuinely awful. We were at a table of eight and had trouble hearing each other. The space felt sparse and cold, not in a minimalist-chic way, but in an unfinished way. The whole "Bonnie and Clyde" theme has such strong possibilities it's a shame they didn't pursue them. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I ordered two vegan sides instead of an entrée: French fries and a roasted beet salad. I asked the waiter to prepare the fries vegan-style with just ketchup, but they arrived with two sides of non-vegan aioli anyway. The fries themselves were average. The beet salad was fine but small and forgettable. My wife ordered the king trumpet mushrooms, the only vegan entrée on the menu. The mushrooms were decent, nothing more. Her cocktail special, a kiwi and vodka drink, was watery and bland. A few other frustrations: the vegan items are not labeled as such on the menu, which is an easy fix that would doubtless help many diners. There is only one vegan entrée, which feels thin. And Lagunitas non-alcoholic beer is available, but you would never know it, since it does not appear on the drinks menu. We will not be returning.

First off, it's adorable. Whoever decorated definitely has an eye, it's like eating in a beautiful little indoor garden. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the sauce was rich and garlicky, and the beef was tender and marinated well. I could happily eat two bowlfuls. The service was great, everyone was so nice. The owner was stopping by each table to greet guests, which I thought was very thoughtful, and not something you see everyday. I already bookmarked Pho King the night before and so I recommended that we come here. So glad we did! It is a cozy yet beautifully designed interior that is trendy and welcoming, but what truly sets this place apart is the phenomenal hospitality. The entire staff was attentive and excellent. Special shout-out goes to the Chef-owner's husband, whose warm and attentive service made our meal unforgettable. The food is absolutely spectacular! Every single dish we ordered (2 visits) were exceptional. Our first visit was for early lunch on a Saturday. We came right when they just opened around 11:30. We just wanted something light to share and "test" if we like it. The perfectly crispy fried pork egg rolls were perfectly complemented by the refreshing pickled cucumbers and nuoc mam dipping sauce. The BBQ Pork Bánh Mì, served alongside perfectly golden house-made fries was phenomenal. Per my hubs, this was the best Bánh Mì he's had, and I agree. We enjoyed our first visit so much and we decided to come back on a rainy Sunday for early dinner. We started with the calamari - lightly-breaded and was also fried to perfection--light, crispy, and delicious served with sweet chili sauce. My hubs ordered ribs - tender, beautifully charred, paired with a papaya salad and traditional sticky rice container. My dish was a standout - the Bò Lúc Lắc (Vietnamese Shaking Beef). The meat was incredibly tender, wok-tossed with onions and peppers. Dessert was unforgettable: we finished our meal with homemade Ube Tiramisu with a side of ube ice cream which was the perfect, mildly sweet end to a magnificent dinner. Pho King has instantly become one of our absolute favorite spots in Rochester. Exceptional food, beautiful atmosphere, and some of the best service you will ever find!

Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Reservations can be hard to come by and go quickly. I found information on reservations from The DeLand House on Main Facebook page. When you arrive the entrance is tucked away on the side. There was an employee at the door who greeted us and asked for our reservation name. He then asked us for the password which I did not remember. Thankfully he gave us a hint. The experience of getting to the bar area is very fun. As this is a speakeasy the entrance is hidden in plain sight. You must go up a flight of stairs, down a hallway, and from there you'll need to find a certain button to reveal an additional flight of stairs. We really enjoyed the spectacle of this part. We got to the bar area and were surprised by how packed it was. We had a table with a view next to a lovely window seat (great photo opportunity) The decor is fun and inviting. We also enjoyed the beautiful plates and silverware. Service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was engaging and we felt they made effort to make the experience special. Food and drinks were enjoyable. The signature cocktails are 15 dollars a piece. Beer (canned) and wine is also available. I ordered the corpse reviver no 2. Cocktail. Lightly sweet and fruity. The menu offers a variety of small plates. We tried the chicken meatballs, whipped mozzarella & balsamic tomatoes, and lemon creme profiteroles. Everything was tasty but nothing mind blowing. My favorite were the lemon creme profiteroles which featured a triple berry coulis. The flavors were refreshing and summery. The seating area did have some cool air flow through from time to time but after being up there for a bit we started to feel warm. Overall, The Blind Pig is a very fun and unique experience.
