This is my favorite Caribbean Restaurant on Cape Cod. Oxtail, Curried Goat, Jerk anything (I especially love the Chicken). Wings in all flavors, Escovitch fish, for Lunch, mmhmmm yummy! Festival, Dumplings aka Johnny Cakes, porridge and a Ackee n Salt fish dish, OH and the Branches eggs are to DIE for at breakfast . Oh the list goes on and on. By far the best Jamaican food! Also has great tradtional American dishes for the people in my party who were less adventurous. Pulled pork, burgers, salads and wraps at lunch, pancakes, omlettes, Chicken n waffles, French toast etc. I've tried them all and all had me wanting more. Definitely put this on your to go to list while on the Cape! You will fall in love. They also do take out. OH I almost forgot to add the beautiful caribbean decor with palm plants. This is a new addition to the Chatham restaurant array. We like it a LOT!! We had lunch here a couple of weeks ago, and went there for breakfast this past weekend. Food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. I am not usually excited about getting soup at a restaurant, but I tasted my wife's soup, and it was definitely a notch above; we got some to go! The owners and wait staff are welcoming, ready to have fun, and are very accommodating. We plan to make this a regular in our rotation...at least until the Summer crowds hit: I think the combination of the food, the environment, and the location assure that this place will be very busy during tourist season. read more

Edit: new 4% cc fee applied to all checks isn't mentioned anywhere on menus or in the business, they apply it even if you pay with cash or a debit card, and the manager did not offer to refund it even after I pointed out that I hadn't paid with credit. LOVE! I just picked up some lunch and dinner and the jerk wings are AMAZING! I have eaten in a couple of times pre-pandemic, and everything was delicious. I'm so happy to see that Branches is going strong, and I can't wait to try some more of their delicious food! Kudos, and BTW, I finally tried the Ting soda, and it is life changing. THANK YOU!!! Branches just opened weeks ago and I have visited just once -- so too early for me to give it 5 stars, but it may get there. For now, 4 stars for a great start. Attractive, colorful interior with pleasant lighting and a fireplace. Owners and staff could not be more friendly. Well prepared food -- I had the beef pumpkin soup and the jerk chicken wrap. The soup was clearly made from scratch, mildly spiced, with large chunks of beef, potatoes, and carrots in the pumpkin broth. The wrap had loads of chicken -- tender, juicy, with a creamy dressing -- and was seriously SPICY. (The finely chopped pepper was something far more potent than bell.) Unless you have an asbestos tongue developed from frequent exposure to Jamaican jerk, don't be shy about asking for a milder version. I understand the chef/owner worked years at the finest resort on the Cape. His experience shows in the food, which is casual but with balance, finesse, and quality ingredients. Good value. Apparently, in 2019 Branches will be serving beer and wine, and perhaps more. But even before it does, this is a worthwhile stop. I am sure the owners will be doubly pleased to see customers during the lean winter months leading to their first summer season. Great to have some more culinary diversity in Chatham. read more

We found this restaurant on a little excursion to Chatham to look and the seals and couldn't have been happier! We were encouraged to try the pumpkin soup, which two of our party of six ordered, however the owner brought us all sample of the amazingly delicious soup! Everything that we ordered was outstanding and we will be back on our next trip to the Cape! read more

The building is new because the place is new and this place is a huge addition to the local scene - they're is nothing like it - one word, amazing! This is a breakfast review. My wife had the branches breakfast, very common and very good, she really liked the potatoes, large eggs cooked perfectly. However the real star of this meal - and made branches stand out - the ackee & salt fish, like nothing was (in a great way) I've ever had. The ackee has the taste and texture of eggs - but it's a fruit!!!! The perfect balance of salted cod and cooked to a soft texture with onions and peppers - and although it says salt cod, it's not too salty it was perfect. Then on the side these rolled non sweet plain donut things called " festivals ". Take a bite of the fish scramble and a bite of the festival and you'll see what I mean. Great staff who are up beat and clearly enjoy sharing Caribbean food with their customers. I had the goat curry and it was excellent. They sent out some of their signature soup with the chef's compliments and it was delicious too. There's a wide menu if you are unsure or unfamiliar with Caribbean food but I'd recommend that you give it a go and ask for some recommendations. Real pride of ownership here. read more

The restaurant rates really well so we thought we'd try it. We called ahead, guy who took our order was niceish, a bit curt. Got their early and waited, took order home (only a couple minutes drive). I had the surf and turf. Shrimp was okay, steak a bit over cooked and the cut was terrible...gristly etc. I ate it though. My wife's steak was far too overdone so she went back and got a whole new order. They were apologetic and it was cooked better the second time but still a junk cut. Again, the place seems to rate well on the jerk, maybe we'll try that next timex Don't waste your time on a steak though. read more

The food is incredible. Absolutely amazing! I ordered the lemon pepper shrimp, the jerk shrimp, pesto pasta. All three were delicious. We all but inhaled the food. The shrimp was grilled to protection and not dry at all. The sauces were delicious. The pasta was surprisingly good, with plenty of cheese and pesto sauce. The only negative was that we waited an hour for our order; however, the food was worth the wait, and it was only one chef cooking so we understood the delay. read more

Excellent dinner. Brought the family here while on vacation. The server brought us out a free sample of excellent beef with pumpkin based soup. For a town filled with rich folks, Chatham's food scene is decidedly predictable - and bland. Not anymore. Branches has a very fun vibe and the service is exceptional. Do not miss the pumpkin beef soup - seriously. And I can't help wondering how a turnip would do in this mix. On the summer weekend afternoon we were there, the steamed cod was perfection, dressed with okra, carrots and perfectly seasoned in a flavorful sautee. The fried plantain, house-made Asian slaw, and rice and beans complemented it perfectly. A companion raved about the pulled pork sandwich. A third said the grilled chicken and fries were the best she's had in Chatham. We also had some fun with a 'flight' of Jamaican beverages -- Ting (of course), kola, and ginger beer -- for a member of our group who hasn't been to Jamaica yet. Ting won. Even the decor is well done -- the Caribbean's relaxed textures and vibrant hues are all here in an elegant treatment the Chatham crowd should love. Branches earns its place alongside hangar b, Mom & Pop's burgers and Bluefins to be among the best in the new wave of Chatham restaurants. We plan to be regulars. read more

My husband and I decided to do a day trip down the cape and we saw Branches on here and decided let's try this.. Caribbean food yes! The lunch we had was so delish I had the Jerk chicken wrap and my husband had a salad with jerk chicken ( we also started off with some wings!) everything was so good! Service too! We have been in Chatham forever and just dont go to many different restaurants, but this one is really terrific! Food is great, Wait staff and Chef are just fabulous. We had Crab cakes and I had a caesar salad. Crab cakes were huge and extremely good. Hubby had Salmon with sesame seed crust, friend plantains and rice..just so good!! Highly recommend. read more

Had a great meal at this excellent cafe today! The Jerk chicken platter was excellent- spicy, but not overly. There was extra sauce on the side for those more adventurous. The pumpkin and beef soup was delicious. They just got their full liquor license and have a good selection of spirits. The staff is very friendly. You feel as if you're in someone's dining room. Sooooo yummy! We were in Chatham to see the seals and happened upon this place. The food took a bit to arrive after ordering but it was delicious! They serve a combination of American breakfast foods as well as local Jamaican dishes. My husband had the goat curry dish and said it was amazing. I enjoy the ackee and salt fish special and it was fresh, flavorful and perfect! The fried plantains side dish is sweet, caramelized and perfectly ripe! We spend most of the summer in Chatham and are always looking for new places to try. We ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and an eggplant panini. Both were flavorful, fresh and delicious. We ordered it takeout and was ready exactly when they said it would be. We tried this restaurant on a whim because one of our favorite breakfast places in Chatham was packed. We were pleasantly surprised! The decor is outstanding, the menu is intriguing, the waitress was very kind and helpful. Our food was phenomenal! I wish I had taken pictures, the pancake was a work of art. The Eggs Benedict, pretty good litmus test IMHO, was textbook; slightly runny poached egg, perfect hollandaise, executed flawlessly. Personally, I was feeling adventurous and after the waitress' description I decided to have the Ackee and Saltfish. It was delicious, and interesting! Definitely a dish I would have again. We really enjoyed our meal! We will certainly be going back in the future. I really hope this place gets a following, because a few very talented and hardworking people have clearly put their hearts and souls in to it! read more
