Small location with no sitting options. Food is all takeaway but that's fine as long as you can find somewhere close to enough to enjoy the food without it getting cold. The jerk chicken had a little bbq taste to it and the rice & peas had a hint of coconut in it, which i had never had before. Overall, food was good and I'd recommend but wish there was sitting options or even beers available. The lady at the register was very nice tho and gave some back story on the history of the restaurant. Will be back and recommend to others.

The line here is long but worth it!! Best Jamaican beef patty I've had in a while. Really delicious with a great spice kick! Seating is two picnic tables by the side. And the employees there were just the kindest. You can tell they are loved by locals and visitors alike.

Vineyard Caribbean Cuisine is an authentic Jamaican restaurant that opened in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts in July 2017. It was founded by chefs Newton Waite and Anthony Foster. Waite was born and raised in Jamaica and has 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He worked at multiple resorts including the Chippewa Hotel, the Ritz Carlton and Boca Club and Resorts in Florida. Foster is originally from New Haven (CT) and is a classically trained chef. He worked in the hospitality industry all over the country before settling on Martha's Vineyard in 1990. Waite found himself on the island for work in 2006 and moved there full-time in 2012. After being introduced by mutual friends, Waite and Foster decided to open their own restaurant which focused on authentic Jamaican food. As of 2023, Waite is the sole owner. My family and I visited Vineyard Caribbean Cuisine this past summer while we were spending the day on Martha's Vineyard. Before heading back to the mainland, we decided to grab some dinner to bring back on the ferry with us. When we walked past Vineyard Caribbean, we noticed a small crowd and thought that Jamaican cuisine sounded great. We noticed that many people waiting in line were of Caribbean descent: a great sign! The establishment is takeout only. Their chalkboard menu is updated daily and if they run out of a menu item then that's it for the day. We decided to order two "Jamaican Patties" (one beef and one chicken) and a platter that consisted of "Oxtail", "Fried Plantains", "Tropical Salad", and "Festivals" (traditional Jamaican sweet fried dough). The staff who took our order were so friendly and helpful. We had quite the delicious dinner on the ferry back to Cape Cod! We would definitely stop here again the next time we're in Oak Bluffs!

Let me tell you all how disappointed I am....that this place is so freakin far away from my home! Can I get a plate shipped? I will meet half way if they deliver? Heck, I may take a flight! Okay, let me stop now. I just want to get it throigh to you all on just how darn AMAZING this food is to me! I didn't even have Jamaican food this good in JAMAICA! First of all, they were super friendly and answered all of my questions. If you eat Jamaican food on a regular, you already know that if the person taking your order doesn't have an attitude, it may not be the best. Lol. This place is far from being rude and they had the absolute best service that I've ever experienced at a Jamaican spot! On top of that, she asked ME if I wanted extra gravy on my food. I swear I had an out of body experience right then and there. Like, am I dreaming right now???? Let me stop rambling and get on to what has me feeling this way. I ordered the jerk pork and opted for rice & peas and pasta salad. I had never heard of a jamaican pasta salad before but she explained that it had coconut milk in it and some other items. Boy, oh, boy! I could hate ate a bowl of that alone! It was delicious! But that jerk pork tho! That first bit had me wanted to dive into a jerk pork pool and just drift away into a nice itis nap! It was juicy with just the right amount of heat! I also opted to try a beef pattie and beef & cheese pattie w/coco bread. Best patties I've ever had! Flaky and warm and tasted like someone's Auntie put a lot of elbow into making them. All of the food tasted like I was at someone's Jamaican Auntie's cookout! Look, if you're ever in Martha's Vineyard's Oak Bluffs area, please stop by and give this place a try! You wont be disappointed!

When we first arrived here, I blew this spot off by saying I want something I can't get in NY. After two days of totally under seasoned meals, we were craving the flavor. I was practically depressed by the idea of having another bland meal, so we went here for breakfast and ordered dinner and happily ate all of it. Finally, our tastes buds were resuscitated. My daughter ate her jerk chicken mini so fast, I didn't get a chance to take a picture. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned she said she could cry. My fried red snapper was outstanding. The rice and peas had a slight coconut taste while the cabbage and carrots were sautéed and seasoned perfectly. This spot is the Gem of the island. We may be eating here for the rest of our stay.

So happy they have a Caribbean spot on MV! It was much needed, I tried this restaurant back in 2019, and returned in 2023, and it was still delicious! Had the jerk chicken, rice, and plantains. They give large portions, and they are always kind and friendly!!

I've tried Jamaican foods many times including in montegobay This small take out place offers super flavorful , and tasty foods. My husband had a pork jerk, and goat curry (different day) , he said both dishes were great and spicy , he loved them. I tried my favorite ackee and codfish, and vegetable patty. akee and codfish was tad salty for me but it was awesome! it came with rice and beans, steam vegetables with hint of coconut flavor and plantains. patty was bit too sweet for my liking, and filling was bit too small as well. The counter lady was super friendly 10/10! if you haven't tried Jamaican food, this is it.

Quite a variety on hand that we don't have back home. Note: The accents are thick. If you have questions about what some of the foods are, good luck. But it's worth it. I was torn between jerk pork and stewed peas. With pig tails! and beef, that was the winner. I love how the server started to ladle in the rice and beans, and then stopped herself because they are so used to serving locals / Carribean natives, they are used to a certain homestyle way of serving things. No no, I made sure they served exactly the way they would make it for their own people. And grabbed some rum cake and sweet potato pudding (with raisins!) on the way out. How good are those? Well shut my mouth (if you get the reference). Brought it home, unpacked, demolished. What a delicious meal. I just got a medium and that was enough for my large appetite. A large would be for two people or to have leftovers for another day. The pig tails had bones so I had to pick those with my hands (whee!), and there were a couple of stewed white yams lurking in there as well. I also note that a majority of the building is a grocery store with all sorts of ethnic goods, if you want to try cooking for yourself or for a taste of the islands all the way up here on the Cape. I call this "cafe" a hidden local gem that deserves more attention from y'all.

Similar to the pork in Portuguese dishes like pork & little necks but with a crispy exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth flavor explosion on the inside. The brown rice with beans and the black beans in sauce are so good that it is my benchmark for a rice side going forward. In my last order I placed for 13 people the proprietor made a dish special for me to try on the house... basically all the elements of the pork plate but goat meat in place of the pork. I have had goat at game dinners in the past. You eat it and its pretty good and you're like "hmm, this ain't half bad!" This goat was absolutely phenomenal! Some of the most tender, not gamey meat I've ever had. I cannot recommend Sr. MARIES enough.
