These people are the best. We had a situation yesterday leaving Santa Cruz headed for Gavilan College, Gilroy. We had a special package to deliver by 3:00pm. Oue back tire blew out just past the Rio Del Mar exit. Across the freeway was the Branciforte Auto Repair. Our only hope was to have them put the spare tire on. At first they were hesitant because of the work they had in progress already. Thye were busy beyond. They decided to take the time and help us out. The tire was put on on we made the delivery 2 minutes before 3:00pm. we would've been lost without their help. These are truely good people doing great work. We can't thank them enough. I brought my car to Branciforte Auto repair for a standard oil change. They checked and repaired a leak that Aptos garage had caused. The work they did seemed competent and within the limits of normal charges for the work. However without my permission they replaced the air filter and charged me for it. This is one thing that I think no garage should do and in this case the service interval did not call for it. This is the reason for the three star rating. read more

Took my old ford expedition for the first time to this shop based on all the good reviews, and was still floored by the standard of service this shop is offering. Completely transparent, thorough, diagnosed a nasty intermittent engine shut off problem and fixed it, then spent time on intermittent oil pressure issue and diagnosed that. No BS, no overpriced unnecessary service, I am absolutely impressed. In the end paid half of what i expected at a very fair price. Got a yelp account just for this. Called about smog and oil change. I asked how much and he told me 60 for the oil change. I laughed. It's for a 99 civic. I paid 45 for a rip off oil change at jiffy lube for my f150. It takes 7 quarts. He told me, hey we are not some cheap oil place paying some guy 5 bucks an hour to do oil. I was asking for multiple services. My gf jut got hers done for 8.99 at jeep. I will not pay more than 30 for a 3 quart change. 60 really. Must be the aptos clientele. What a joke. read more

Great, honest service. On more than one occasion I have gone there expecting a larger repair only to have them call back and tell me it was something more trivial. My only complaint is that too many people have found out how good they are, so you have to bool them a few days in advance. Still, I'd prefer to wait two days to have them look at my car than take my car to some other places around town that could see me immediately. read more

Family is right. Nadine, Lou, their staff and mechanics have been providing honest, friendly and conscientious service for me, my company and my family for many, many years. They are the best! Recently, they personally warrantied an expensive fuel pump replacement in my work truck. It was a Ford fuel pump that B40 replaced in my truck 13 months ago. Unfortunately, it failed again. However, Ford would not cover the replacement pump and labor because it was only warrantied for 12 months. Ford wouldn't cover it , but Nadine and Lou did! They didn't have to, and it cost them time and money out of their own pocket. Wow....they're incredible~! read more

Refreshing to know there are still places around that care about their business and customers! I stumbled upon this place last year when I needed a smog. I'm so glad that I did! First time there I was greeted warmly by name. My husband now brings his truck there too. They were able to fix problems that our old mechanic could not. They are thorough and trustworthy. It's great to have a mechanic that doesn't miss things that are wrong, and doesn't make up things that are not. The ONLY downside (which is true for many of the mechanics in town) is there are very few parking spots. I would recommend making an early morning appointment so you can snag a spot. read more

What can I say....I took my car to the local dealer and was told it would be $3,100 for a new transmission, no other options...when I called to pick up my car there, the car dealer was making a pitch for a new car. Enter my good friend Desma, she said try Branciforte Auto Repair. She said Lou and Nadine are the best and I said, let's give it a try. I picked up my car from the Dealer at 7 am, drove it to Branciforte left a message and my keys. I was able to speak to Nadine who informed me that they had a cancelation, and would be able to look at my car today. They called and said we can try flushing the fluid first and see where that leaves us, as opposed to going straight to surgery. I got the call from Lou and will be picking my car up tonight. I am recommending everyone use Branciforte. Great people and great service. read more

Branciforte overfilled my Infiniti M35 engine with excessive oil on Friday. On Saturday, the excess oil came out of the dipstick, splattered all over the engine, and caused smoke and a strong burning smell to emanate from under my hood. As you might imagine, this was very disconcerting. Because Branciforte was closed, I took the car to Skip's Tire in Scott's Valley. Even though Skip's discovered that Branciforte had overfilled the engine (by draining the excess, which I witnessed), Lou Branciforte refused to take responsibility for the Branciforte error. As a result, I had to take the car to San Jose to steam clean the engine at a cost of $180, which Branciforte would not pay. From now on, I am taking all three of my cars to Skip's Tire for everything I need. I will never go to Branciforte again, for sure. read more

I live nearby, so I decided to give Branciforte Auto a try with my F250 Diesel pickup. The truck needed its coolant changed, and I threw a wrench into the mix by wanting to use my own Extended Life Coolant - this meant they had to mix it to the right ratio, then add, etc. etc. Well they passed the test with flying colors! Dallas was courteous and detailed from the moment I entered the office door, and I spoke to Lou (owner) at length about what was required for the job. I liked Lou immediately; he just struck as the type one could trust immediately, and my feelings were right. The truck came home happy after just a few hours, and I received a follow-up call a week later. The prices were reasonable, the work top-notch, and most importantly, they made me feel like I'd been going there for years. What a great shop! My '05 Subaru's next on the list; they had two there on the racks when I was there. read more
