The initial consult is awesome and informative, and the process is pretty quick to get started. Their are two locations Tierrasanta and Carmel Mountain. I've taken both my daughters to both locations. You can stick one preferred location for the majority of your visits, but for me, i notice They use Tierrasanta for an x-ray and bigger visits and Carmel mountain for upkeep (this is closer to me) The orthodontist is awesome. He's super patient and informative, and the kids like him. Billing is okay. The full cost for me personally was about $6k for each child. Of course, that's before insurance kicks in, and then it is adjusted. They have a pretty fair payment plan process that helps make it easy to do monthly payments, and it comes out automatically. It is all dependent on what works for you and what the total amount due is. Mine was about $150- $200 a month since they were going to have braces for two years. If your time is shorter, I'm sure your monthly will be higher. The monthly is after the initial payment, which is where it can be harder for some. The initial payment is high, and then the payment plan kicks in. Again. It's all dependent on each person. This was just my personal plan since I know I like reviews with details on costs and options. The staff are okay. Some friendlier than others but overall a good group and helpful when you have questions. Tierrasanta location lacks accessibility as it does not have an elevator, and you must take the stairs to get there. (My daughter broke her leg and had to hop up the stairs) a big deal if you are looking for accessibility. The Carmel Mountain location is downstairs and had parking pretty close to the front, so this location would be okay for accessibility. I've been really happy with this service. My kiddo is in the process of getting braces or Invisalign. They've explained the process really well, helped with insurance and the Dr is knowledgeable. I was born missing my right lateral incisor (the tooth next to you upper front big one), which has thrown off the center of my smile and my teeth all together. My parents offered me braces my Senior year in high school... yea, I said "pass." ‍ Over the years I've thought about doing something about it, but something always came up (mostly excuses). An then I had my daughter and told myself, she wasn't going to have had an option -- she WAS getting braces! (She had her first set at 9 and her teeth are stunning! To continue this, she will start her second set shortly; she is now 12) So at 40 years old, and DONE with the excuses, I started checking off my dream board one-by-one. This was the second item, of many, I got to check off in 2020, and it felt DAMN GOOD! I truly am LOVING this new version of me and really wish I would've found her earlier. The woman that knows she's worth it. Now to talk about the Team here at Brand Orthodontist- They are all Amazing! Amy is the one you meet to set up your cost/payment arrangements - she is super sweet, and extremely helpful in creating a monthly rate that I felt comfortable with. (This is big for a single mom). Daisy was typically the one I met with before Dr Brand, to get my X-rays, check ups, and such. Not only was she also going through the Invisalign process and could relate, but she is always so warm & friendly - I feel like I made a bestie that I get to see each visit, cheering each other on. Now onto Dr Brand. He is so knowledgeable and a perfectionist, that I knew I was in great hands with the new shaping of my teeth. And man am I happy with my new smile! I also never left an appointment with any unanswered questions or not feeling confident in the process. I started in Sept of 2020 and finished in Oct 2021. I am forever grateful to Dr. Brand and his staff for the amazing results they were able to achieve with my daughter. Dr. Brand had been recommended to us by local friends as well as her regular dentist back when our daughter was in third grade. Thankfully we started the orthodontic process early, because underneath those beautiful baby teeth was a disaster. After expanders, tooth extractions, phase 1 braces, her cuspids(canines) were still nowhere to be seen. Dr. Brand referred us to Dr. Chang at West Coast Oral Surgery to have brackets places on her impacted cuspids. Had our daughter been born in the pre-orthodontic era, her cuspids never would have come down on their own and would have killed the roots of her four top front teeth. But thanks to the surgery and the careful tracking done by Dr. Brand, our daughter now has a picture-perfect smile with healthy roots. Dr. Brand is a miracle worker!!! read more

We have had other consultations at different orthodontists for our older teens and never had to pay for x-rays. A bit disappointed about that. I was hopeful about this place, based on all of the positive reviews. However, I had a less than stellar experience from both Dr. Brand and his office assistant. I've had braces now for almost 5 years. My original orthodontist corrected my open bite - only to offset my midline by 4mm (which is a heck of a lot), which then migrated and misaligned my lower jaw. My original ortho denied there was a problem (because, why would she admit she made an error?), so this is where Dr. Brand comes in. I scheduled a consultation with him, ready to write a check over to him that very day to transfer my case over to him. He verified that I indeed had a misaligned lower jaw and a midline off by about 3-4mm. But instead of welcoming me as a new patient (as if I didn't have valid reason to want to switch - a gaslighting current ortho), he told me it was best to stay with her and try to work things out. So I said fine, I will do that. I asked if he would be give me paperwork that verified his findings, to which I could show my current ortho and prove that there was a problem to be fixed. He told me no problem, just check in with the girls at the front. The girls at the front told me they would email the paperwork. So I left with a smile and all was good. UNTIL I never received the email. So a few weeks later I called to check in about it, and the woman who answered the phone gave me MAJOR attitude. She told me if I wanted paperwork, I'd need to make another appointment where I'd have to PAY a consultation fee. I explained to her that I was just there and both Dr. Brand and the administrative office already approved it. She said she spoke with the doctor and he said I need to make another appointment. So let me get this straight: 1) I came in ready to hire you, 2) You told me not to hire you, 3) You told me to work things out with my original ortho 4) You told me you would give me your findings in writing which would help me try to work things out with my ortho 5) I try to get those findings and now I have to pay for another appointment Makes sense to me. *eye roll* Anyway, I ended up hiring a new ortho (NOT Dr. Brand, obvi) to fix the original ortho's mess up. It really boils my blood to be treated with such disrespect. To me, it appears that Dr. Brand is just another doctor whose ego is bigger than his desire to truly help patients. After my nightmare with my original ortho, I've realized it's wise to consider how doctors handle disagreements and conflict. My advice with this one: proceed with caution. read more

As an adult looking to invest in braces for myself, I carefully researched what orthodontist I would use for my treatment. After visiting 3 orthodontists in person for a consultation, I decided on Dr. Brand and I am extremely happy with that decision. I just got done with my 2 year treatment plan and my teeth look great. They provided great service and always were able to quickly get me what I needed- whether that was receipts for my FSA, communicating to my oral surgeon, or scheduling appointments. The other came across as old school and I worried that they wouldn't be up to date on the latest standards. With Dr. Brand, I felt 0% concern regarding either of these things. I went shopping for braces and was recommended here by the Tierrasanta Dental Group in the same plaza. I got in and they did the free assessment in a private room. You get in, sit in the chair and one of the assistants starts to take your info etc before the Dentist comes in. First it feels like an odd interrogation in there because you are sitting in a center chair with these people surrounding you...while they are all nice, I didn't like it. Second, some of the questions they asked, I fail to see how it relates to the treatment..."what don't I like about my teeth"? uhhh I'm here for braces right? how about I want them to be straight? Perhaps this is a self-esteem killer to get you to sign on the dotted line. Aside from that odd interview, the only offered me 1 treatment method which happened to be the most extreme of being surgery. Ran the estimated costs and then I left. I did not end up having my treatment there, I found another Dentist who gave me 3 options (top and bottom braces, top braces only since that is most visible, or surgery). My other dentist also said let's try the braces and if they don't work then surgery may be the last option; and I appreciated that honesty. Now the current day, my teeth are perfectly straight and bites are not perfect but close to it...without surgery! The facility seemed fine. Decent size waiting room, the area where they work on you is the open style where it's a bunch of chairs in the same room. Parking lot can be tight since it is small and shared with the other businesses in that plaza. Overall, this place may or may not be the place for you...It wasn't awful but it wasn't A-ok either. I think they should try a little harder at offering more options (maybe they just didn't want to work with me or wanted the fastest treatment) and work on their new patient assessment a bit more. read more

Was referred by another dental office since they specialize in children's ortho which is what I needed for my son. They were absolutely amazing with my 8 year old. Met with the assistant, and the dentist Dr. Brand, they did an exam, and explained what he needed done (which I already knew what services were needed since I had seen a few other dental offices that were not helpful).
