No wannabes, no hipsters, No "starving" artists. Real people with real talent. Let's get things straight. All galleries on La Cienega Blvd. are Los Angeles galleries. All galleries on Washington Blvd. are Culver City galleries. All galleries are apart of the Culver City Art walk. Culver City galleries offer free wine and snacks. I didn't see any of that at the Los Angeles ones. Each gallery had a number in the window so you knew you were at the right place. It was so much fun to gallery "hop" to all the galleries because they were so close to each other. I felt like I was going door to door like on Halloween. Lol. My favorite galleries were George Billis Gallery, JK Gallery, and Bradford Steward gallery. Others were good, but they didn't have the wow factor. The gallery hoppers at this Art Walk were older and lots of families brought their kids. In other words, it's an all ages event. There were a couple of food trucks. I stopped by Coolhaus and there were a few bars and cafes nearby for a quick bite to eat. I didn't see any parking structures. The entrance ticket includes a short tour showing part of the downstairs house and after guests can walk around the meditation garden with the Labyrinth. I thought it was peaceful and calm, it was like a very small version of Self-Realization as there were grassy areas and benches to sit and relax and meditate. I appreciated the fountains because the sound of running water is so calming.

The famous "Murder House" from American Horror Story is located in Los Angeles and is great fun to…read moresee. The Murder is really the Rosenheim Mansion. Rosenheim built the mansion in 1908 to live in his wife. In around 1930 Edward Everett Horton lived there. The Sisters of Social Service then took over the mansion in 1930, using it as a convent and adding a chapel to the building in 1932. Around 1999/2000 the site was declared a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. It was beautiful and still is in its own right. It was later sold in 2015 for about 3 million, which was a huge price cut from its initial offering. There was a lawsuit against the sellers agent for never disclosing that the property was featured on American Horror Story. Fans of the TV show stated going to it and this made the owners just a tad upset. It is now Murder House. You can now up to walk Murder House and take photos of the beautiful mansion and the area greenery. It is about an hour of fun. I had read that some can walk though it, but I did not see anyway to do that.

They were right on both counts, but I'll try to do better for you. It's very dark inside, with small, maze-like rooms. In fact, it's so dark that some of the exhibit descriptions are hard to read. I wish I'd taken the guy at the front desk up on his offer to borrow a penlight. Some of the audio exhibits didn't work, but that didn't matter a lot, since most of the exhibits were meant to be read. Here are some of the exhibits that stood out to me: - I loved learning about the geometry of Islamic architecture. - The dioramas depicting trailers and RV's were pretty cool, as were the historical description. - Those poor but heroic Soviet space dogs! - Historical superstitions. Perhaps that's why I have a picture of my grandfather as a toddler in a dress! - The bell wheel. Wow. I told my husband we need to make one. - Too bad no photos are allowed in the museum. I would have loved to take some pics of the doves in the tea room so I could paint them at home. - Look through the microscopes and try to figure out how they did that!
