We met with Steven at The Farmhouse on 2/17, and were immediately impressed with his work. We fell…read morein love with one particular design, and immediately placed a deposit on what we thought was going to be the focal point of our dining room. Based on our conversations, we were to receive our table around 3/3 as we we were leaving for vacation the following weekend. We reached out to Steven on 2/23 and again on 3/1 with no response. A phone call finally prompted a response, and we discussed dimensions for a secondary table. We reached out to him before vacation on 3/9, and after vacation on 3/16. We were told finally on 3/16 that the table was done, and they were finishing the secondary small table. We made a followup inquiry on 3/16, with no response which by now I'm thinking is normal behavior. Inquiries again on 3/21 and 3/25 went unanswered until late in the afternoon on 3/25. We did receive a phone call from one of his workers, but no message was left. No further communication from Steven at this point. One final communication from his worker Trey was to schedule delivery on 4/1, but he said he needed to confirm with Steven. Of course a follow up message to Trey went unanswered. After this long nightmare, we were able to get our money back through our bank. Luckily we paid via credit card and not a check as the transaction was made at The Farmhouse. Steven will tell you about all of the famous people he makes furniture for, so maybe it was too small of a job to get his interest. It is really buyer beware when dealing with SDS Designs. Do you research ahead of time and you will see he has a history of poor communication with his customers. Of course there will be delays, or personal issues that arise as he indicated to us, but common business courtesy is to communicate this to your customer. The truly sad part about this is that it has ruined The Farmhouse for me. They truly do make amazing doughnuts.
