We continue enjoying dining at Brandl. Restaurant Week gave us good reason to go again though the choices for RW are limited. We ordered both from the specials and from the a la carte menus. Lobster bisque and Oyster Rockefeller a perfect start. Both the Thai Shrimp, on the RW menu and the Everything Bagel crusted Salmon were delicious. Midweek on a cold night the service was very attentive. It is a little pricey but BYOB sure helps.

This is offensive. Wawa makes a better steak. Do not come here save your money.

I make better steaks at home with grocery store steaks. For the price I paid it almost $100 a person. This is so underwhelming and so overpriced. I'm literally upset. I paid almost $430 for five guests and the best things were the sides. Here's a picture

Shocked to see the three star reviews for this place. Stopped in last night and can happily say, this is my new go to local spot. I'm actually surprised I haven't been here yet. To start, I love that this place is BYOB. There is a liquor store in walking distance from it as well. Staff was super friendly and thorough in explaining the menu and providing recommendations. Kept checking in and making sure everything was okay. We decided to grab the prefixed menus. My boyfriend and I shared the appetizers. We got potstickers and Cesar salad. Both were amazing. The salad had a good garlic kick to it and the pot stickers were filled with flavor. We then shared the two entrees. We got the lazy lobster and the Thai shrimp. Holy cow. They were delicious!! I think the Thai shrimp will be a definite reorder for me. It was so dang good! The pineapple pared so well with the shrimp and purple rice. Lobster was very good too. Lastly, dessert. I'm a big sweets girl. We got the apple tart and the chocolate brownie. The apple tart was very good. Came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The chocolate brownie also had a vanilla scoop. I was so excited for the brownie, as they are my favorite - sadly it was a little too rich and sweet for me. But aside from that, everything else was perfect. The menu is designed very cute. The cups on the table are very unique and the interior and outdoor seating is very tastefully designed. Loved it and will be back!

First time dining at Brandyl. We had the salmon and the NY strip. Salmon was extremely salty and overcooked. Steak was decent but certainly not worth the money. On a positive note, the service was good and byob is a plus.

I would imagine reservations are a must during summer months. Was able to be seated without one at 5pm. Wonderful healthy options. Ordered the Vegetable Curry Bowl- 23 with Pasture Raised Chicken- 30. Was amazing. My wife had the Cavé Classic Chicken Veggie Soup- 10. Also very very good. All organic, farm picked & raised & all gluten free. Prices were very reasonable. Was able to park right in front of establishment. It seems menus constantly change. With amazing options throughout the year. Can't wait to try something on the lunch menu. Kudos to the chef.

Visited Cave Bistro off the recommendation of a friend, and also DDD (iykyk)…read more I've frequented many DDD Restaurant's in the past, and they always seem to be very crowded. So just to be safe, I did make a reservation right when the restaurant opened. Seems to say I played it a bit too safe, I was the only one i there for the first 20-min.! In any case, then dining area was very bright and open, and I was seated near the window, which I enjoyed. I tried three foods, appetizer-entree-dessert, here's the breakdown: 1) Appetizer: Pan Roasted Achiote Octopus ($22) which has Shaved Pickled Carrots & Onions, Chermoula. For 1 person, this was quite substantial and a delicious start to the meal. The octopus wasn't tough, it was cooked perfectly, with a nice char-grilled flavour. Paired up with the accoutrements, it was a 10/10 way to begin my meal! 2) Entree: Grass-Fed Beef-Roasted Marrow Burger ($26) which has Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onion-Tomato Jam, Fresh Baked Gluten Free Brioche Bun, & Beef Tallow Fries. Why 4-stars? Because of this item. The day I arrived the restaurant was trying their new "Baked Gluten-Free Brioche" on me, apparently I was one of the first --- the bread was dry AF, lol! I loved the burger --- the marrow taste, the raclette cheese --- I sing their praises, but wrong day to test out the "test bread"! It ended up on a Yelp Review. Hopefully the bread-recipe has been improved on after this review. PS: The onion-tomato jam perfectly pairs with the richness of the marrow burger. 3) Lastly, I ordered for dessert the bread pudding. They don't put their desserts on the menu, but if you ask the server they will let you know what the restaurant has for the day. I believe it's seasonal as well. It was average at best, good ---- but didn't stand-out. Overall, I'd totally recommend a stop-by if you're in the area! It's always awesome visiting these sites features on DDD, and tasting for yourself the hype behind their food!

I'm in a mood so I'm gonna go on one today…read more The Grand Tavern is hands down the best restaurant in the area. My husband and I have been going here for years. We don't come as often as we used to because yes it is pricey but I would much rather come here and have a special night with incredible service, food, and drinks than still spend over $100 at another restaurant and get average food. The Grand Tavern is unpretentious, welcoming, entrees offer sizable portions. I have NEVER left hungry. Main complaints I see are price - again, yes it's expensive but it's worth it. Also you can see the menu before you go, how do you not know what you're walking into?? Complaints about the burger. First of all the menu changes seasonally. There's no way their patty is frozen. Everything is FRESH AF. And yeah, American cheese is king on a burger. Again, it's on the menu what did you expect? This is a restaurant that has literally never disappointed. I will always save my pennies for a great night out here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion obviously but entitlement is a hell of a drug. Check out the menu and have a great night.

The other 5 in my group enjoyed their drinks. Our server took our orders verbally, and all apps and mains came out without a hitch. No menus handed (they ask you to look at their website to choose!) and the menu is small, with specials limited to cocktails. It is dark and quite noisy (they did dial back the loudness after we asked) so keep that in mind.)

We ordered the Meat Flight with numerous sides in an effort to sample as much of the menu as possible. Among the many highlights was the wagyu sausage that had cheese in the middle!, the smoked turkey, the shredded brisket, bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, baked beans, collared greens, corn bread, etc. Long story short, we wanted all the Local Smoke and they sure delivered! Please patronize this establishment when really hungry, you won't regret it. No pics as we dove right in after arriving back home.

We grabbed our takeout and took it home. Upon opening each item, I grew more and more concerned with how it looked. Everything we was either overcooked or dried out. The pulled pork was stringy and dried out and lacked taste. Thank goodness they gave us some sort of vinegar sauce to put on it to resurrect it a tiny bit. The ribs were also dry. There was no helping that. The mac & cheese seemed like they made a roux, let it sit there and dry out, then added mushy pasta to it. It also didn't even have a cheesy flavor. Got the green beans, definitely skip those. It's basically steamed green beans with paprika sprinkled on it. The cornbread was decent. I'll give them that. The one thing I will say that was good were the sweet potato fries. Somehow, those made it through OK. The food just lacks heart and soul, and doesn't really excite barbecue enthusiast. It's not even good for just regular food. I really wish whoever the management or owner is would take a moment to sample all of the food and see how it can be approved, we really could use you in the area. So sorry to be so harsh, but it is what it is and twice in a row it was like this for me.
