Casual, in the moment, natural lighting (love how she does lighting) and she doesn't use a bunch a cheesy filters. In the end we decided to use her for our engagement photos and we were really happy with the outcome! We were pretty happy with the first photo shoot and even decided to do a 2nd one in the end. First of all, Jacky is a Midwest gal and she's really easy to be round. Laid back and chill she felt just right to me since I'm from the Midwest too! There's something about us Midwesterners! Arrangements for the shoot were easy to make and Jacky is quick to communicate with. Mostly via email. She's open to pretty much any location we wanted and was flexible with timing. We didn't ask for anything crazy but I'm sure she would've been fine with it. My now husband and I had never done a photo shoot before and Jacky was the perfect photographer to start with. It's pretty uncomfortable being the sole focus of a big camera if you're not used to it! It was awkward at first of course but as we got used to it and with Jacky's easy manner we felt more at ease. Her photography personality is more relaxed where she lets the subject do their thing and then every now and then suggests. It makes the photos come out a lot less posed and more natural. Our 2nd shoot was even better since we were pretty used to it and we had a lot of fun doing silly things. We ended up using our photos for a save the date card and a bigger photo for our reception. And of course we changed our Facebook profile pics with shots Jacky took! I haven't needed a photographer for anything but in the future hopefully I can still call on Jacky! I've seen her family shots and they are pretty adorable and not cheesy too.

We had tried what felt like everything and his separation anxiety was so bad that it got to the point that my partner and I basically gave up our social lives, had to coordinate with one another one of us would be going to the market or if it would be a trip where we both can go but someone sits in the car with our dog. We met the team at K9 Logic Dog Training and they assessed our dog and determined what kind of training program would be best for him to address his separation anxiety and the other skills we wanted to work on. Within a week we noticed progress. We finally were able to leave the house for an hour and go to the market together. Week by week the time has gradually gotten longer where we have been able to leave him alone for longer periods of time to reclaim our social life back. I was skeptical at first, but after that first week I became a believer. We are so happy with the results that for the purpose of just giving him structure and routine we signed him up for more classes and he LOVES being at school. An exception I also noticed was different shades of punk as well. As a festival, I thought it was well organized and the location was good (next to the Rose Bowl). It wasn't too large and there were lots of great options for food and drink. Bathroom lines weren't crazy and there were water filling stations. For reference: I had a VIP ticket, which may have helped with bathroom lines and lines to some of the food/drink vendors. Great viewing locations for VIP, but the Clubhouse level gave you access really close to the stage. I personally believe there are two major camps (with all different types of shades in between) of folks who go to music fests - 1) people who just love going to fests love the experience and vibe regardless of the line up. 2) people who go to a fest specifically for a particular lineup that piques their interest. I would say I fall into more the second category. The 2025 lineup in particular was a dream lineup for me! My favorite band growing up was New Order. OMD's Sugar Tax spent countless hours in my walkman and I love music from The Go-Go's and Alison Moyet. And up until this point, I haven't been able to see any of them live except for New Order. Devo, Clan of Xymox (loved their music on 'The Guest' soundtrack), She Wants Revenge, Buzzcocks, and 'Til Tuesday were very nice bonuses. Only sad part really was that I wanted to see Nick Cave but had to choose between this and The Go-Go's. I chose The Go-Go's because I was going to try and watch them at The Roxy, but secondary market tix for that was like $500 : / Just a bunch of bands and musicians I wanted to see all wrapped up in one festival! I would definitely love to come back to a future fest and would even consider tix at the 'Clubhouse' level ($1,000 in 2025), but like I mentioned above, for me, it would really depend on the lineup during that given year.

Whether you are a Goth Princess, a Die Hard Gen X, a Dark Synth Fan, or an 80s music guru, this music festival has the best lineups for you. My husband and I went to the first Cruel World Fest, which had been postponed due to the pandemic, and since then, we have gone every year... with no plans to stop. Through the years I have seen so many music legends. And what I love is that they also showcase many younger bands that have similar styles. I have learned about several new favorite bands. This year we had some cooler weather and even a little rain, but it did not stop the party. In fact, It was appreciated after having been to the fest in the 100 degree heat a couple years back. Goldenvoice has gotten better and better at throwing the festival. There are more water stations (bring a refillable bottle) and more bathrooms set up. Getting in is a breeze, and lines are mostly short. We usually opt for GA+ for cleaner restrooms, but it is not really necessary. The merch line is usually ridiculously long, but we stopped by later in the day and got a couple of shirts after only about three minutes in line. This year for me was amazing. There was so much great music, I barely had time to eat anything... and we were there for about 11 hours. I was able to see Nick Cave for the first time. OMD put on an amazing show as always. Highlights for me were hearing Midge Ure sing Vienna and dancing to Stereo MCs in the rain. Can't wait to find out the lineup for next year!

Elly can be especially anxious and had a very hard time adjusting to a 3rd cat in our home. She not only was aggressive toward Edgy but also redirected her anxiety and attacked Todd and us. After a stressful 6 months of trying to introduce the cats on our own, watching YouTube videos, and enduring a lot of scratches, we decided to reach out to Hannah. We made more progress in our first month with Hannah than we did during all the time on our own. She helped us understand our cats' body language, explained to us what we needed to do to modify their behaviors, and most importantly, explained why. She was responsive, and she also checked in on us unprompted. We gained so much knowledge at such a tremendous value, and it showed with our cats. Elly is no longer anxious at all. She and Edgy eat together, hang out, and even kiss each other! We wouldn't have believed this was possible a year ago. We are still working with Hannah to acclimate Todd to Edgy. We started training Todd a few months after Elly because his hostility toward Edgy wasn't as severe. Todd is an active, playful cat, completely different than Elly, and because of this, his treatment sessions with Edgy are very different than Elly's. We are so impressed with Hannah's ability to create treatment plans tailored to each of our cats' personalities. We were so stressed a year ago and just hoped that our cats could coexist. With Hannah's help, we now think they can all become friends. We've thoroughly enjoyed working with Hannah. She's kind, personable, and just an awesome human.
