What a neat little gem in the outskirts of Wilmington. Cozy, lodge-y feeling historic space…read morecomplete with wall-to-wall wood planks and a fireplace feels more like a church basement than a concert venue--in a cute way. A small selection of local beers and basic wines were available at the folding table in the back for $2-$4 each, (hooray for tax-free Delaware!), as were free handfuls of chips, nuts and crackers, served up by friendly gild members. The seating/dancefloor layout struck me as odd, with 6-10 rows of folding chairs starting halfway back from the elevated stage. This did provide a generously sized standing/dancing area in front of the stage, however, with everyone seated during the more subdued opener, there was quite an awkward distance between performer and audience. This took away from the potential intimacy of the venue, and the performers commented on it. "Hello, everyone... out there. You're so far away." On to sound. The mix for the opening band was spot-on, vocals and acoustics were full and clear, with great balance between drums, keyboard, and acoustic guitar/vox. The headlining band seemed to pose more of a challenge for the sound guy. Vocals were barely audible over the drums, bass, synths, guitars and sampling. When vocals were bumped up, the mics squealed. This well-versed and well-traveled Brooklyn band usually flaunts lush, layered vocal arrangements, so the imbalance between lost vocals vs. harsh feedback was particularly frustrating. Later in the set sound improved some, but still lacked complete clarity and eq balance. Sound can be affected by a multitude of factors, of course. Faulty equipment, borrowed equipment, the space, house limitations, sound guy limitations. I can't say whether the problem was internal or external, especially after the opener's pristine sound, so I'm only deducting one star. Perhaps the effects-laden, shoegazey headliners were just too heavy for the venue. Still, I will be back when another great show skips Philly and lands in Arden. In the interest of improving atmosphere, I will avoid taking a seat.

Had lunch after a pickleball morning session. First time at DE.CO. Went for Angelo's cheese steak…read more Service was fast. Seating was ample and very comfortable. Cheesesteak was excellent. Very heavy sandwich. Tender meat. Lots of cooper sharp cheese. Onions and long hots. I'll be back for sure. Also had an Expresso and half a gourmet donut. Wow.

This is a review for Angelo's Pizza. Personally I preferred Pizzeria Bardea. I'm honestly not sure…read morewhat was going on at Angelo's. From the start, things were weird. The person taking my order didn't seem familiar with the menu, which was surprising for a place focused on something as straightforward as pizza. It took quite a while for the pizza to be assembled before making it to the oven. After ordering, I waited nearly 40 minutes, which I had buyer's remorse, considering I could have just ordered two pre-made slices and heated them up. Bardea was able to get an order in and out in like 10 minutes. Even weirder, comes the confusing part after Angelo's takes the pizza out of the oven. Twice, the pizza made it to a box, where employees stood over it, seemingly unsure of what to do. They appeared to be discussing it and even taking photos while the pizza just sat there getting cold, for several minutes. Is this an Instagram moment? I genuinely had no clue what was happening. By the time I finally received my order, the pizza was luke warm and the whole experience was frustrating. I have no interest dealing with whatever was happening here. I hope they work out the kinks of whatever the heck was going on at this place.

We came here for Christmas even dinner before Longwood Gardens…read more My family and were greeted warmly by the staff and felt right at home. There was so many good food items we couldn't wait to eat! For appetizer we got the calamari. While we were waiting for our appetizer we got some bread and oil. My husband made a comment about how he wished the bread coming out was warm like other restaurants. The calamari breading was light and well seasoned. Very crispy and came with a green cilantro sauces drizzled on top. I thought it was excellent! I got the veal parm which was HUGE. There was atleast 2 big pieces of veal that was breaded and seasoned well. It came on top of marinara sauce noodles. My husband got the Veal Saltimboca which was veal medallions topped with proscuitto and mozzarella with a Marsala demi glaze sauce. This was also fantastic even though my husband wasnt a fan of the truffle taste. From the service, ambiance and food. This place is great for a catch up and/or special occasion. Would love to come back and try other items on the menu :)

This is a 2.75 star if I could give one…read more The absolute worst thing about this place is the valet parking. It made eating at the restaurant more difficult. Upon leaving the car w Valet, we walked across the (empty) parking lot to the restaurant, only to have the valet follow us to park in a spot. Upon leaving, we had to walk across the parking lot (in the rain) to get to the valet stand... Only to watch the kid run back towards the restaurant to get the car and drive it to us. After that, the drinks are okay. I ordered a gin sour with egg whites... What I got was ... I'm not sure. Not sour and sweet with a slight pink tone. Food was okay. Okay for not being too expensive. Someone at the table ordered a whole fish and, while the tableside service to de-bone it should be nice, it reached our table looking completely maulled apart and de-skinned (despite us wanting the skin on it). Calamari was good ..the strange green drizzle initially threw me off but was fine in the end. The "white fish" francaise was the best thing on the table. Service was okay. Attentive without being pleasant.
