Room had queen bed w/curtained closet & iron/ironing board, 42" TV (w/screensaver set to welcome me by name), loveseat & ottoman (curtain divider to separate area from bed), ergonomic chair & built-in/mobile desk; MWO, apartment-size fridge/freezer combo, dishwasher, dishes/cups/cutlery, mini sink & coffee maker. Bathroom had pocket door w/large countertop, under sink storage w/extra towels, blow dryer, large shower & nightlight. Stay includes buffet breakfast. Now, to the few drawbacks: Coffeemaker was cheap & made weak, tasteless brew (partner w/Keurig already, Hilton). Towel quality was on thin side & not soft. Mattress was too soft. Breakfast was mostly premade (omelets made w/liquid eggs), thawed & MWO'd sausage & cheese biscuits kept in glass warmer shelves--dried out & on par w/gas station convenience stores--except for delish WAFFLES you made w/batter dispensed into cup & poured on mini heated griddle. BUT, batter dispenser kept jamming & it took 2 staff members to get it working again. (Hilton, pls employ 1 or 2 people to make omelets or even just scrambled eggs & to periodically heat sausage & bacon, put in chafing dishes as guests trickle in; also have some cut fresh fruit options. (Hiltons in Staten Island NY offered a much better breakfast for comparable stay). Lastly, I booked this hotel specifically for indoor pool & checked before arrival that it was operational (as 2 other area hotels had pools undergoing maintenance). I also checked pool hours on arrival & went to use it after dinner out only to be greeted by Pool Closed sign. Turns out boiler broke & water wasn't heated enough. I expressed my disappointment & said it might still work for me, so desk agent offered to let me feel water temp & then decide. Since I was set on using pool, I said I'd use it for short while. Well, it was quite a bit cooler going in full body than trailing your hand thru water, but I toughed it out for 15 mins...brrr. I'd definitely stay here again as the positives far outweighed the negatives. Hilton is always consistent quality-wise & affordable considering all the amenities.

It's conveniently located in Old Town Philadelphia right by Independence National Park. Signer's Park is directly across the street, and the Liberty Bell is next door. It's where you want to be! I came to Philadelphia for a milestone birthday celebration, and the Kimpton's staff made it an incredible experience. Not only was my room decorated, but they were incredibly generous and made my holiday memorable. Roshid was our Concierge and he was incredibly helpful and personable, he made sure every part of our experience was special. I can't say enough about the staff at this Kimpton. Everyone was friendly and helpful! The Red Owl Tavern is the on-site restaurant and it is a good place for breakfast, especially if you are a IHG Rewards member that receives complementary breakfast benefits. Their lunch and dinner options are also nice. There's a positive energy in the place when people are talking and enjoying a meal. The building itself is a historic structure, and has very interesting architecture. However, the interior has been updated with styling that is fresh and hip, just what you would expect from a Kimpton property! The local wildlife also enjoys the building, we were excited to see a hawk uses the building as a perch as it surveys the area. Look out pigeons!

The bed and pillows were reasonably comfortable. The storage for clothes was adequate. The noise level was generally good and the sound insulation from the street was adequate. The Red Owl food was mostly good and the staff are nearly all very friendly and helpful. The exercise room was adequate for a decent workout, though it is mostly dumbbells and a few treadmills, a couple of exercise bikes, and a couple of elliptical machines. Two yoga mats. The not good: The music that is played in the lobby and entrance is way too loud. The coffee served in the lobby each morning was terrible. Should have a coffee maker in the room. The bathroom lighting was insufficient. The oatmeal served on the breakfast menu desperately needs to be changed so that the apple crumble is gone and substituted with fresh fruit - the apple tastes of chemicals. The valet service is staffed by bored and uninterested young adults.

My schedule dictated that I arrive late. I entered my room and I noticed too things right away...dirty entry floor and a cool breeze. I took a wet tissue to the floor...it obviously was not mopped. But the worst part about this room was the cold breeze. The area around the was not properly sealed off and it was letting in cold air all night (14 degrees) I Took three bath towels and put them around the unit and floor. Then the air conditioning/heat had a loud loud fan and turned on every 15 minutes. I could not sleep. I asked the manager and she said it was typical because the ground floor was always colder than upstairs. She said that when the front door is open, the air cut sucked from the outside into the rooms, Well, if that's the case, it needs to be fixed. I Brought my son here for an important day in his life and had to suffer through the cold and noisy night. Oh, Then when I had breakfast, the decaf coffee was at room temperature. The young lady at the desk did very little to satisfying my issue. Please don't stay here. I may consider changing hotel chains.

In a hospitality outfit like this with the in-room jacuzzis and libertarian approach to collective usage of the property - something I think enhances its nostalgic charm - there are certain aspects that require either appreciative tolerance or overlooking it entirely. The situation is what it is. We all find ways to adapt. For example in our room, the toilet seal was completely broken for our first 12 hours we were there. I got weirdly familiar with how to fix the toilet. But it did get fixed. I agree with whoever here said strange lighting choices. Very true. And the jets are weak in the jacuzzi but it does get super hot. Ceiling mirrors are what you're there for. I saw Puxatawney Phil in the yard. Breakfast sucks, but I don't eat breakfast anyway. Coffee available all day in the lobby. Worth it! Would go back!

Black mold on the tub, mysterious stains all over the carpet, appliances did not work, that old 80s smell, and torn curtains that surrounded our heart shaped bed. The service was okay but we ultimately decided to leave early and did not stay the night as intended due to the rooms condition. We were not offered a different room and were refused a refund. So ultimately, maybe find another location?

I stayed at the Microtel in West Chester, PA for one night while traveling to the PGA Championship. Lodging in the area was limited, and after a long drive we needed a place to stay. In hindsight, I would have gladly paid an extra $100 or more for a decent hotel. The room was severely outdated and poorly maintained. The bathroom shower had an approximately 2-inch hole around the tub spigot where it came through the wall. The GFI outlet in the bathroom was nonfunctional because the receptacle appeared melted and could not securely accept a plug. Housekeeping was essentially nonexistent. Trying to obtain fresh towels, soap, trash bags, or any basic room service was nearly impossible. When I requested a full cleaning of my room, the front desk employee looked at me as if I had made an unreasonable request. The cleanliness throughout the property was unacceptable. The floors felt dirty enough that I would strongly recommend bringing disposable slippers. The room and common areas had unpleasant odors, and the overall condition suggested a serious lack of attention to sanitation. The amenities advertised by the hotel were either unusable or misleading. The ice machines were not connected to plumbing. The fitness center contained three treadmills that could not be operated because they had no electrical service. There was a water fountain with no plumbing connected and not a single weight available in the gym. Security was also a major concern. I parked behind the hotel and noticed that the rear entry door was so badly dislodged from its frame that it would not close properly. Room doors also had noticeable gaps around the frames, creating little confidence in privacy or security. Guests staying on the first floor at the rear of the building are treated to the sight and smell of a large dumpster used for hotel trash disposal located directly behind the property. To make matters worse, television volume was so low that it was difficult to hear even at maximum settings, and I'm only 36 years old. After checking out, I disputed the charge with Capital One, which was surprisingly painless. I also contacted the West Chester Board of Health. On June 2, 2026, I received a return call and was informed that the hotel had been shut down due to numerous safety, security, and cleanliness violations. My advice is simple: save yourself the frustration and spend a little more money on a reputable hotel. This was one of the worst lodging experiences I have ever had, and I would not recommend this property to anyone.

I found the Adamstown Inn online, and it was reasonably priced, the photos didn't look like Great Aunt Gertrude's parlor, and every room had an en-suite fireplace (my one stipulation). We stayed 2 nights in the Topaz room at the Amethyst Inn. It was amazing. The Amethyst Inn is a big, old (but beautifully maintained) Victorian home, converted into the Inn. Our room was equal parts Victoriana (joie de vie wallpaper and a very ornate cast iron fireplace) and Country - beautiful antique oak furniture. The queen sized featherbed was luxurious and we slept like babies. The bathroom was updated, immaculate and the jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast was to die for. Four courses each morning of fantastic, unique home cooked goodness. Everything was so fresh and amazing. Their coffee was great (and endless) as well! The staff was wonderful and warm, but not intrusive. They were incredibly thoughtful. Every day there was a small gift waiting for us on the bed, and when we left they gave us snacks for the road! It snowed overnight the 2nd night, and they even cleaned our car off for us before we woke up. This place is first rate, gourmet, beautifully decorated and it is a wonderful respite away from Philadelphia. We, much like The Terminator, will be back.
