Fantastic LatinX food! It's owned by Columbians so offers some amazing exotic dishes from across the region! Like chicken curry! De-lish! Everything full of flavor and delicious!!! I added pollo asado (grilled chicken) to my delicious and savory Brasitas salad and they practically put the entire bird on, two large breasts so juicy and tender! They offer organic chicken and wild seafoods! This tiny 'hole in the wall' strip mall restaurant was an amazing surprise! Darling servers, authentic and rich flavors! I give them an enthusiastic 5 stars and I know great food and flavor, from Michelin Star restaurants to mom and pop shops! Stopped by last night as I was travelling though CT and so glad I did. Fantastic service, great food and a very moderate price. The sangria was delicious. I had the Churrasco Gaucho, a plate of sirloin, asparagus, and potatoes. Just phenomenal! I was just too stuffed to have desert, but so wanted to. Parking is easy and abundant. So nothing was bad here so please come by. The snapper and the mahi were VERY fresh. The crunch on the snapper was just right. The mahi was pan seared perfectly. The sides were well prepared. So why only 3? Seasoning can be whatever you'd like. Fresh or dried herbs, salt and pepper, touch of tarragon ... whatever you wish. But it's got to have something. Otherwise I could find a great market and cook it myself. I do love light seasoning but it's gotta have a thoughtfully crafted dish that makes me more excited with each bite. Co worker and I ordered lunch, lomo saltado and cubano sándwich. Food has no flavor the cubano sandwich was did not have the pickle cheese or the arrúgala salad that was on the menu description. Was super greasy as well. We won't be going back. read more

Went here for lunch with my wife. We work right down the street but have never come by. The lunch hour was pretty busy and instead of waiting we just sat at the bar. I don't really have words to describe how delicious everything was. First you get plantain chips which were delicious, especially with the salsa. I'm not sure I've ever had better salsa. You only get one bowl for free; the next bowl is $4. Probably good because you don't want to overfill on plantain chips. I ordered the Bistec a Caballo and my wife ordered the Shrimp Salad. Incredible. The steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty. It melted in my mouth. White rice and black beans come with it, as well as potatoes. I didn't leave a single speck of food on my plate. My wife loved her meal as well. So good, and I'm not sure what that reviewer was talking about when they said they left hungry. I was stuffed. Yes, it was a bit pricey, especially for a lunch. So we won't make it a weekly thing. But when we're planning a nice dinner for us or with friends, we'll definitely think Brasitas! read more

I looked at their menu in advance on the internet and although it looked interesting and exciting, I had some serious doubts. First of all, being from south Florida, I wondered how could a Latin meal in Norwalk, CT even compare. Secondly, I am pessimistic of restaurants that try to cover too many different cuisines. For example, it just feels odd to find Thai restaurants that serve sushi. And Brasitas was this with Latin cuisines from Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, and more. As it turns out, this was a fantastic restaurant from start to finish. It began with complimentary plantain chips and a homemade salsa. For appetizers I tried the empanadas with three different fillings such as chicken, pork and sirloin. They were all delicious. The arepas had a great upscale presentation being topped with shredded chicken, sofrito, guacamole and crèma fresca. Choosing a main course was quite a dilemma with so many unique Latin fusion possibilities. The paella special was calling to me, but ultimately I chose a dish that I was more unlikely to find elsewhere, and I couldn't have made a better decision. The presentation alone was fabulous. My meal came with duck that was cooked to perfection, a generous portion and lacking the fat usually associated with this meal. It was accompanied with a delectably flavorful Peruvian rice topped with two quail eggs. The run off of the eggs mixed with the rice was a highlight I will crave to go back to for more one day. read more

Honestly, I wasn't going to bother but I was taught to treat others the way you want to be treated. I was here around 1pm today to pick up an order for Uber eats, I have eaten here before and never had any issue with staff. I guess when you are a customer you are treated differently than when you are delivering their food to customers. I walked into the restaurant to pick up an order and one employee told me to wait and so I did. Next this ignorant guy wearing white comes in (I'm assuming bartender.) Anyways the guy gets angry I did not know where the order was. We the drivers are not mind readers and your establishment had no signs, plus employee told me to wait, there is no need to harass the Uber Eats driver. Long story short you have lost me as a customer and also as your possible delivery driver aka never accepting a request if it involves your establishment. Learn to talk to people I can only imagine how the employees here must be treated. Smh! read more

Colombian friends brought us to Brasitas for a late lunch. We were blown away! Food, service, atmosphere were terrific. Our waiter could not have been more helpful or pleasant. I wasn't super hungry when we arrived, but then the appetizers appeared and I found my appetite. I ordered arroz con pollo and it was not only artfully presented but by far the best I've ever tasted. My dessert was flan. The taste as well as the consistency was perfect. My only complaint: I wish Brasitas was closer to my home but I'm planning to make the drive on a regular basis. read more

I was finally able to try this restaurant out! We haven't had the best luck with restaurants these days so I didn't have high hopes for Brasitas. To my surprise everything was delicious. Even the check cheese quesadilla they threw together for my daughter. "Best cheese sandwich ever," said the 3 year old. For appetizers we had the empanadas which were fricken great. They were cooked to perfection and were served with sweet dipping sauce. We ordered the Lomo saltado, in which I was concerned about the portion size. I was starving to death and was just being greedy. To my surprise the amount given was just right. I considered getting more just to bring home! Everything was great, the service was awesome. Norwalk location has plenty of parking spots right in front of the restaurant, unlike Stamford location which can be pretty tight and inconvenient to do side street parking. Food here is just as delicious. I always love munching on complimentary plantains with salsa while waiting for my food. My lunch entree was Pollo Caribeno al Curry, sauteed chicken with celery hearts, raisins in coconut curry sauce served with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. My partner ordered Lomo Saltado. Both dishes were very flavorful. Rice was so soft (which is my preference). Portion size was generous. Beef in Lomo Saltado was so tender and juicy. Bad service experience. After we sat down on a table, we wait a really long time and no one came to take our order. Our waiter was not even around during all this time. There were less than 10 customers in the restaurant, so they were not busy at all. Finally I got up and went to the bar, found our waiter hung around there and chatting with the bartender. There was no customer on the bar. I kindly asked him that we were ready to order. You know what happened? He told me he will be with us in 10 minuets. Our drink be filled by another waiter, and our waiter never around. We were a party of three, and we had separate checks. They put a 21% gratuity on my check. If I had a good service, I am more than happy to pay more than 20% as tips. I had a terrible service and they put a automatic gratuity. I am not happy for this. read more

The food tasted okay, the service was a little slow, but the main reason I am typing this was because some of us ordered the Chicken Arepas appetizer. I was traveling through the state with my kids. Stopping here for lunch was as a mistake. I had a sandwich and drink and my two kids had a soda and cheese quesadilla. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. Once we received it our server never checked back on us. I got my bill and couldn't believe $36 of the bill was just the two kids. My hubby had the rib and I had the duck. Both were good, I can't say fantastic but I can't say bad as well. Maybe I would enjoy mine better if the rice isn't greasy. Not sure if it should be done that way. Now onto to the dessert, my hubby loves chocolate so we ordered the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. I was thinking what's taking so long to serve it. None that I know that they bake it fresh....and omg. It was great....am not a chocolate person but I enjoyed it. So that means, my honey devoured it. So I have to bumped up my rating to 4.
