We've given this place two different tries, with both being terrible. We ordered this a few years ago and the spanakopita was dry and tasteless. I should've known better, but I remember the soup being pretty good and since it's in our neighborhood, thought we'd give it one more try. We did a togo for $60 and we were basically given garbage, so old and past its prime, everything should have be in the trash. The pita that was served was all stale, hard and tasted like dirty oil. The falafel was overcooked, dry and tasteless. The rice was overcooked mushy with no flavor. Grape leaves taste tasted like canned and bitter. My finance picked up the online order and we have an email receipt and order number for 4.17. We both did reviews and he was so upset he paid for food he could not eat. I was sick and wanted soup, I stayed in the car when he went in to pick it up so that's why I'm not on his "camera". My review is legit, regardless of what the owner is stating. Rather than dispute my review, the owner should try and apologize not make claims against my integrity. I will not have someone antagonize me to try to get me to remove my authentic review as an Elite. Be aware that if you go here, the food might not only be bad but you'll be treated like a criminal for having honest feedback and have to be harassed for weeks after all because you wanted some soup. read more

This place is bomb. Yesterday I got the lamb kabob special plate and it was so good that I came back today and got the gyro wrap. Equally as good. After an incredible first taste with the yelp elites, I knew i had to bring my family to Bravo Avo, and they did not disappoint. This second gisit confirmed that this spot is a true local gem. We dove into the Fire Feta Cheese, which had the perfect lick, served with warm pita bread. We had the seven hour roasted lamb and the lamb chops. I love Greek food. This, however, was not Greek food. Ordered kabob plate, doulma, falafel - standard stuff. Tasteless doulma. Falfalel was fried beyond recognition. Pita was stale. Really disappointing. Won't return. In reply to the owner's doubting the integrity of the review: 1) there are two similar reviews because two people ate this horrible food. Each of us rated you a one individually. We did so because there is no option for a zero rating. 2) don't you think it might have been more constructive to actually figure out what the problem was and maybe try and correct it as opposed to try and dispute that it's a real review. It is a real review by a real customer. It's just the food that wasn't real Greek. There are so many better ways to deal with a customers complaint other than to deny the circumstances that led up to it. It's not my intent to hurt your family business, but it is an honest review of an honest encounter at your business. Came here on a Friday at 12:30. It took over 30 minutes to receive my take-out order. I am not that surprised because I saw a review on Yelp complaining about forgotten orders, and also someone complaining about prioritizing takeout orders. How about do the customer tickets in the same order received? We saw three people being seated and having their meals served, who came after us, in the 30+ minutes it took for them to get our to go order done. The food is fresh, but in no place in Orange County is it reasonable to wait 30 minutes for take out, at least not without a heads up (most people are on their lunch break and have to get back to work). The night we went, there was a gentleman playing the violin and space made you feel like you were in Greece or some other Mediterranean country. Been here a handful of times and there are hits and misses each time. I have been ordering the trio plate, which comes with a chicken kebab, a beef kebab and gyro meat. The gyro meat is very good as is the beef kebab. The chicken kebab is ok but not much flavor to it. I also have been getting the calamari appetizer along with the roasted garlic potatoes but I am no longer going to order them. The calamari is too small a portion for the price. The potatoes have yet to be what they claim they are. Each time they have been boiled instead of roasted. They are also never cooked all the way thru, with some being soft and some being very undercooked and hard. They also lack garlic in any sense, with the flavor being lemony instead. I tried their gyro sandwich a few months ago when I was having an insatiable hankering for a gyro, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich is generously filled with flavorful gyro meat, fresh and crisp veggies, and comes with a side of tzatziki. It's the perfect portion size that fills you up without feeling like you need a nap afterwards. I recently tried their Combo Bravo, which includes a generous portion of sliced gyro meat, seasoned chicken breast, and tender zucchini on top of a bed of rice, a side salad with dressing, a warm pita, and a side of tzatziki. It was a well-rounded meal with a little bit of everything. I also really enjoy those little "thank you" stickers that they put onto their to-go containers. So far, we have celebrated my son's 20th birthday, my husband, my mom & my very own 60th birthday with around 20 guests and they all enjoyed their orders. We had our 3 year anniversary here on a Saturday evening and WOW! There were starry lights on the windows, folded napkins, candlelights, and even a sweet man playing the violin for the tables. Then they brought out the food, and it was the best most juicy and flavorful chicken kabob I have ever had. It melted in my mouth. I would love to try their beef kabob, garlic sauce, and hummus next time, and hopefully we can make it an annual tradition! I also ordered another chicken salad on the side. Everything was just so fresh, seasoned perfectly, meat was tender. My favorite item was the signature salad dressing (which they sell by the bottle btw). It's a balsamic base, but just the right amount of tart + sweetness. We had a urge for some Mediterranean food while in the neighborhood and decide to give Bravo Avo a try. Once inside the restaurant, we noticed that the decor was a bit dated, but comfortable. We ordered the gyro sandwich, the chicken a la avo sandwich, and a baklava. The gyro sandwich was massive and delicious! The meat was juicy, the vegetables fresh, the pita tender, and the yogurt dip was tangy and creamy. The chicken a la avo also did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and flavor was great. We ended our meal with the baklava and it hit the spot. It had the right amount of sweetness and the filo was crispy and tender.
