Maria was my server on this day I came in. She was very welcoming and kind for my first time. I ended up having a half order of chicken wings. The first order of wings came out cold. But Maria was very kind enough to have the chefs remake a fresh batch for me. This time, they were HOT and CRISPY! I wish I took a photo of the wings but I ate them too fast. I give them a 4.5/5. We had a delicious takeout order from Mustard Café today! So very, very nice to eat eat healthy. Takeout order included grilled vegetables deliciously seasoned grilled chicken, And a wonderfully tasting flat iron steak! Maria, the waitress hostess she does it all! This location is in a slightly hidden strip mall. I stopped in for a late lunch, walking in at 2:25 and not realizing they close at 3. I immediately noticed how exceptionally clean the place is and that the interior has a welcoming, comfortable vibe. At the counter, I ordered a pastrami sandwich with chips, a drink, and a chocolate chip cookie. I thought the prices were a bit on the high side. I grabbed a bag of chips from a bin and poured a drink from the soda fountain. The amiable woman at the counter handed me a plate with my cookie and let me know she'd bring my sandwich to my table when it was ready. The sandwich was not a traditional deli pastrami sandwich but the Mustard Cafe version. Served on pillowy soft ciabatta, a satisfactory amount of warm, tender pastrami was covered with fresh, crunchy lettuce, juicy tomato, melted swiss cheese, mayo, and of course - mustard. It normally comes with onion but I asked not to include it. It was a delicious sandwich and, while the bread initially looked to be overwhelming, it actually was fine. The cookie was dry and the chocolate chips were sparse. To put it nicely, it wasn't my favorite chocolate chip cookie. I was the only customer in the place as they started to mop, turned off the television screens, scooched chairs under tables, turned off some lighting, and moved outdoor signs inside. I checked my yelp app and realized they were closing in 20 minutes. Their activity made me feel like I was being pushed to leave so I ate far too quickly and didn't enjoy my meal as much as I should have. I firmly believe businesses should clean and close after the doors are locked not when you still have customers. I know workers want to hop in their cars and go home right at closing time but this is one of my pet peeves so I knocked a star off. read more

I love finding places that aren't big chains, and even though I learned later there are a couple of other locations, this one still feels cozy. It's small, inviting, and has its own personality--plus theres the option for outdoor seating. I stopped in for brunch and tried the Shakshuka for the first time... and wow. I went out on a limb but every bite was amazing. The food here may look casual at first glance, but the flavors are not. My server was so friendly, helpful and attentive. This was our first time at Mustard Cafe, heard great things from others so we walked in excited to try. I'm not the type of person to write reviews but I want to share my experience so they can improve their customer service or you can think twice about coming here. First they ignored us waiting to order, then were rude taking our order and didn't direct us to water or a seat. It was not busy by any means, he just kept chatting with customers. I understand if low staffing was an issue, but the attitude is inexcusable. You pay at the front before getting your food and I still tipped 20% which I know now was a mistake. We waited so long for food that it came cold without an apology or acknowledgment of the wait. I've never asked for a new plate before but the bread was soggy and my eggs were cold. He was rude when we brought the food back and didn't even remake it, just put new eggs on top. Wasn't apologetic or trying to make it up to us. I worked in food service for years and it's common to apologize or offer some kind of compensation if the circumstance warrants it. I bet the food would have been delicious if it was hot. This was the second time ordering from Mustard. The first time I had a breakfast sandwich and wasn't super impressed. I had a meal catered by them a few weeks ago and it was pretty good so I have them another try for breakfast. They got really busy after I put in my order and they seemed short staffed. The young man taking orders was very flustered and it looked like they only had one cook in the kitchen. After waiting a while my to go order was ready. If I had still been in the restaurant, I would have complained. I ordered a salmon Benedict. The eggs were actually done perfectly but they're was no Benedict sauce at all! As far as cafe's go, Mustard Cafe & Grill was very average. The bread on the Avacado toast was lack luster and took away from the avocado itself. The French toast also seemed flavorless and burnt on the outside. However, where mustard cafe thrives is its variety and friendly service. So I finally ordered from here today through Grubhub. I was looking for some side dishes for a Italian sub I had ordered elsewhere. I got the $7 Pasta Salad and the $9 Cream of Tomato soup. The Pasta Salad was a huge letdown. First and foremost it was warm. There was no description on Grubhub, Yelp nor the Mustard website for it, so I am not sure if it was supposed to be that way or if they just cooked the penne pasta that was in it and its residual heat transferred to everything else. The dressing on it was like water. The tomatoes and zucchini in it were also warmed as a result. Such a shame, I just cant find a good pasta salad in this area. (Edit: I looked at the Grubhub menu again and it clearly states: "Chilled salad with a pasta base" so It was supposed to be cold. Im guessing they didnt have any ready and cooked the pasta to order which is why it was warm/hot and messed up the entire dish. Thats unprofessional. The Cream of Tomato soup was the best I have ever had. I will for sure be ordering it again in the future even at the $9 price tag. It was perfectly creamy and the acid level in it was just right as a result. I will have to order a grilled cheese to go with it next time but the only one I see on the menu is on the kids menu. read more

They had ran out of water cups so she gave me a soda cup and didn't charge extra. This seems trivial, but for a business, what stands out is the way she quickly problem solved without making it a big deal. I can tell their focus was on serving me, not tracking soda cups/money etc. My bill was also $20.48 and I had a twenty, and a one hundred dollar bill. She insisted on taking the $20 and wiping the .48 cents. Again, not a huge deal, but CUSTOMER focused problem solving. I was cared for. Will absolutely come here again, thank you! read more

I catered food from Mustard Cafe for two separate birthday parties (1st birthday and 40th birthday) and my guests loved the food. Maria was great to work with when placing my orders. My first order was their chicken and beef kabob trays. It comes with a tray of rice and salad as well. This was in addition with other types of food and was definitely a hit with our guests (60+). Be careful putting it on a warming tray because after a few hours it can overcook the meat and veggies. The second order was their sandwich and wrap platters (both large orders). The sandwiches and wraps are huge and they cut it in half. You can also request certain meats (or no meat for vegans). It was more than enough for our party of 30 guests! Customers who came after us (dine in and take out) got their food before us. If they were understaffed, that fact should have been relayed before we ordered so we could at least make a decision about possibly eating somewhere else.
