Wow! What a great meal my mom, sister and I had here. We ordered the Mixed Mezze Plate (good for two) and the Adana Kebab (ground beef skewer with rice and salad). First, the Mezze Plate. 5 dips and stuffed grape leaves beautifully plated. (Take a look at the photos.) And the portions were substantial. Just delicious! Humus, stuffed grape leaves, carrot tarama, babaganoush, tzatziki, and acuka. We couldn't finish it all so I took home food for dinner too. The Adana Kebab was great too! Beautifully grilled ground beef skewer with light, fluffy, well-seasoned rice and fresh salad with a grilled pepper. Those two dishes filled us to bursting. (And the price was very reasonable --- a big plus these days.) The gentleman behind the counter who took our order, prepared our food and served us was welcoming, warm and very friendly. Friendly service. Homemade lemonade was tasty. Given in paper cups, not plastic or styrofoam - extra points. Beef sheesh kebab wrap took 10 min to make fresh for takeout. Unfortunately when we got home the wraps were about 1.5 cups of chopped lettuce and 4 standard cubes of sheesh kebab (1inch or less). My kids couldn't eat much as all they were getting was mouthfulls of salad that was spilling out. We ended up opening the wraps and taking out the 4 cubes of sheesh kebab so they could eat it. Had to make dinner at home as they were still hungry, of course. Lahmacun not flavourful, very little meat. Wraps listed as $11.99 but charged $15. Definitely not worth it for 4 pieces of meat and 1.5 cups of salad. First time here. Won't be back. Give 5 stars for lemonade and 5 stars for friendly service. read more

Drove 22 minutes here because this place markets itself as German-style döner, and unfortunately it was nowhere close. I asked for bread and received a wrap that ate more like a bad gyro burrito. The meat was dry, overcooked, and had an unpleasant flavor. The sauce was not the creamy white garlic sauce you expect from German döner; it was served on the side and tasted heavily of dill. Fries were poor, and for around $25 with a can of Coke, it was a major disappointment. If you are looking for anything close to döner in Germany, this is not it. read more

Honestly really disappointed in this place and I wanted to like it. From the moment I walked inside, the entire place smelled like cigarettes. Customer service was great and I won't knock them for being polite and respectful. The food was far from desirable. The pizza was literally inedible - and I don't want to sound rude, but I've had better frozen pizza, and this was also partially frozen as I saw the worker remove it from the freezer. The cheese was so packed on and it just tasted like cardboard. The chicken kebab sandwich was OK. I'd give it a 3/5. Flavor wasn't bad, but it was just not appetizing. I believe this place needs to be a bit more on top of sanitation and also not keeping the doors wide open when the owner & his friends are smoking right outside the door constantly. In the span of 30m that I was there, I can't tell you how many cigarettes were being smoked back to back and for the draft to just be sucked into the place. It's not the best experience for a customer. I just wanted to enjoy a really good halal kebab from here, especially since the other reviews were so positive. But I sadly won't see myself coming back. From the pizza to the kebab, it's just not worth it. Perhaps on a different day and time it would've been better, idk. But it just wasn't it this time. Again, customer service was wonderful. Owner seemed very nice and respectful, I know he did his best - but the rest of the experience was a shame. I ordered from Kebab Planet on Doordash since they had a buy one get one free deal, and this review will be about the kebab planet wrap with beef. I was so excited to have food from here because I absolutely love döner kebab. I regularly travel to Germany for work and am always so excited to have döner whenever I visit, and I recently visited Turkiye where I enjoyed the dish in the country it originates from. Unfortunately, I was left very disappointed with the kebab wrap here. I generally leave photos of my food on Yelp, but my kebab wrap was so incredibly soggy that the wrap opened up and fell apart when I opened it -- so, I didn't think it would be helpful to leave a photo. I recognize that the sogginess could have been due to the 15 minute drive time it took to get to me, so I want to disclose that my low rating is not due to the sogginess. The kebab wrap being soggy was already disappointing, but truthfully the main issue I had with my meal was the salt level. I generally tolerate a very high level of salt and enjoy my meals on the saltier side -- however, the beef gyros were WAY too salty. It was to the point where it was inedible for me... It's quite possible that whoever prepared my order made a mistake, but all in all my experience was unfortunately negative. I hate wasting food, but I had to throw both of the beef wraps away because the salt level made them inedible to both me and my partner. I do hope that this was a one time mistake for Kebab Planet, but with the plethora of fast Greek and Turkish options in the area I will likely be visiting other restaurants when I'm in the mood for kebab. read more

A charming little hole on the wall Mediterranean sandwich and pizza shop in the strip mall at Lake forest. Being a resident of the city, I did not even know they were around until I accidentally came into the center. It was a great surprise, they have some really good doner sandwiches, plates, wraps and doner pizza (which is the first time seen or heard of). It is owned by a very nice family that runs and operates the place. I'm always supportive of places like this, I got their original doner combo with fries and a drink. They make them fresh there on a skewer and serve it to you. The portion was huge and filling, so you really get the bang for your buck. Flavor wise, it was on point, they really take care of you and make sure you have all the sauces and add-ons you want on your meal. Truly hope this place does well.
