The food wasn't better than Olive Garden. I couldn't tell the pasta was freshly made. My husband said the chicken was dry in his dish. The service was slow. We sat a bit before the waitress came to take our drink order and it took her a bit to get our drinks out to us. The restaurant wasn't very crowded. It took a bit longer than I expected for our food, but we were a party of 7. The decor was nice; it did have an Italian restaurant vibe. With all the places to choose from to eat in Knoxville, this is not one I would revisit. I wish we had gone to Olive Garden instead. My dad had heart burn all night from what he ate. We hadn't been to Bravo in a while and we were looking forward to it, but we were all disappointed (6 of us). The service was OK (but not great) but first of all, our menus were filthy!!! Mine had red sauce on it and a very greasy corner with so much grease that you could see it. Another person's menu had so much food on it that it rubbed off on the table cloth. And another had one that was also covered in grease & sticky. That should never happen. Also, I ordered the "Pasta Woosie" and was very disappointed in it. It was just 'warm' and it had obviously been sitting for a while. The pasta was all stuck together in piles and I had trouble even pulling it apart. The ones who got salads said that they were just ok. I doubt if we will ever go back & if that type of thing keeps happening, they will lose even more customers. read more

Amazing food. Our server, McKinnly, was super Sweet and up beat. Took great care with our order and follow ups. Everything from the fabulous bread and dipping oil to entrée was fresh, hot, and oh so good. Went here for an early Christmas lunch celebration with some family that came into town. Service is top tear. We had John and never had such friendly service! He even learned and remembered our names. Very sweet and accommodating. The food was perfectly portioned for lunch and I even had left overs. The complimentary bread with the oil is amazing and you must try it. I got the spaghetti bolognese and it was full of flavor and on the creamy side. Everyone loved their food which included: blackened salmon, chicken compresa, chicken sandwich, and alfredo. Everything was 10/10! The first thing Yelp should do is change Bravo's the $$$. The prices are getting to ridiculous levels. We were there for Mother's Day around 2pm. We were seated promptly but that was as prompt as things got. We waited nearly 20 minutes for anyone to arrive to acknowledge us and that was a hostess stopping by with two glasses of water. I started my stopwatch on my phone to see how long it would take for the next person to appear. 14:53 later our waitress showed up saying there was confusion as to who should wait on us. Funny, she had been servicing the table right next to us for the whole time we were there. After that things improved somewhat. She did take our order and returned once to inquire if our meals were satisfactory, they were, and then disappeared for 20 minutes. Yes I actually time it! Restaurant prices all over have gotten to crazy levels and Bravo's keep pace with the crowd. The service was really disappointing even for a holiday. The restaurant seemed to be well staffed so I'm at a loss as to why the service was so poor. read more

Can't believe it's been 11 years since my last review here. Seems like yesterday, mostly because we visit often. I don't think we have ever had a bad experience over the past decade eating here. This visit was a fiasco. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and were told that we had been checked in for our reservation. I checked in with the hostess 25 minutes later and was told we had not been checked in and there were 7 people in front of us. They finally seated us. It took 10 minutes before the waitress came by and just dropped off the bread. No water or to ask for drinks. It was over 1 hour before our food was ready. One was a pasta dish. I ordered a glass of wine and it tasted like vinegar. Our waitress, Josie, was not visible and several people had to get up to go look for her to pay their check. The people seated next to us only got 2 of their 4 meals. It took another 20 minutes for them to all get their meals. Other wait staff were very attentive to their tables. read more

I have dined at Bravo Italian Kitchen twice before, and always found the food and service pretty good. However, a word of caution for diners that want to eat there on Christmas day. DO. NOT. GO! I am not placing blame on the servers or staff that was there on a major holiday, but on the management that way overbooked the client to server ratio. They had put very little and poor forethought into service Christmas day so that customer service or the food would be lacking as badly as it was. Arrived on time for our 4:00 pm reservation. (4:00 pm by no means was "rush hour" and we booked early to avoid the crowds) We waited 30 minutes and no one came to our table. No water, no waiter, nothing. Finally went up to the hostess stand and asked where our waiter was. 15 minutes later, someone from management served us bread and water and apologized. Apparently, they sat us at a table with no waiter assigned to us, and 5 of their waitstaff did not show up. Waited another 20 minutes for someone to show up to take our order. Gave us more bread and water to appease us. Three out of 4 drinks arrived because they didn't have the ingredients to make one of them. After an hour and 15 minutes, the waiter took our food order. At the same time he was taking our order, we noticed that the chef was actually serving trays of food instead of cooking, and the hostess was taking food orders, they were that short staffed. My heart just sank and the utter chaos that this place was becoming and how stressed the staff must have been. I'm sure they would have rather been home with their families on Christmas day rather than being there. One of the dishes we ordered was the chicken marsala, waiter told us no mashed potatoes, they were sold out. Do you want French fries with that instead? What? Chicken was so dry and cold, the whole dish went uneaten and had it taken off of our bill. My salmon salad was wilted and the salmon was stiff and cold because you could tell it had been sitting in the bowl for quite some time. Chicken parmesan, same thing. Cold and un appetizing. Second round of drinks came, no margarita for the hubs, bartender clocked out at 5:00 and no one is available to make drinks. Waiters can pour glasses of wine or serve beer. Do you want that instead? Sorry, hubs said he'll take a pass, thanks. Lastly, I've never, ever left a zero tip at a restaurant in my life, but I could not find one single reason why I should leave one. The food and service was bad. Really, really bad. Folks, as I said, I don't fault the staff for the horrible dining experience we had, they were working their tail ends off. It's a combination of staff not showing up and way overbooking a restaurant that could not handle the crowd. Lesson learned, next year I'm staying home and cooking Christmas dinner. We sat at around 6:30 pm on a Saturday night, we were a party of 12 and it was probably around 6:50 pm when the servers noticed we haven't been greeted yet and told us that they are looking for our server. We were finally greeted 30 minutes after we had sat down. We got our drinks and food orders in. It wasn't until an hour and 20 minutes of us being there that we finally got our food. My boyfriend and I got pizzas because it was a safe choice at an Italian restaurant. I kid you not we got the most sorry looking pizzas ever. The crust was soggy, and it was tasteless. The rest of the table wasn't very impressed with their food either. For the price that they're charging for their food, you'd be better off going to Olive Garden and the food would 100% be better than what they're serving here. The service we got from our server was very subpar too. Not a single manager had come up to us about not being greeted for 30 minutes. And all the around the service and the food is not worth it. Decent experience. Restaurant was about 60% capacity at 7pm. Host was running around like crazy (but had a great attitude) manager didn't seem to want to smile at all. We tried to reserve a booth for my husband's birthday and when we arrived we were told it would be a half hour for a booth. We agreed to get a regular table. I'm not sure why they didn't have one in less time than that. Our server was ok. Not really eager but not unpleasant. Fried ravioli tasted just like fried mozzarella. Couldn't taste the pasta, but wasn't bad. I liked the seasoned oil with the bread. My husband tried to order a specialty Arnold Palmer on their menu but they were totally out of lemonade. Crazy. Mom and hubby got the special which was a filet entree and unfortunately both were overcooked. The medium rare was medium well and the medium well was well. My Fra Diavlo was pretty good. My husband and I enjoyed the most delightful dining experience at this location. We arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation and was told there was an hour wait. Therefore, we decided to dine in the bar area where there was open seating and NO wait. We found the perfect high top table for us where we could get a good visual of the area. As we waited for our server to approach, we glanced at the decor that surrounded us. The place was quite lovely and well appointed. Upon entering the establishment, you get the sense of upscale dining, which was nice because we did not know what to expect and first impressions are lasting impressions. Bravo compensated us with a voucher for our previous, abysmal service experience outlined below. So today, in order to make use of the voucher, we booked a table on a Sunday afternoon when we expected the restaurant to be quiet, and it was. This time, it was a generally pleasant experience. The food was pretty good, the service a little slow, but acceptable, and yes, I did leave a tip this time. That said, the drinks are still *very* expensive, We grudge paying a lot of money for pasta, a very inexpensive product, that is the main ingredient in most of Bravo's dishes. We also grudge paying $16 for a small vodka martini, and paying the price of a whole bottle of wine, for a single glass of it ($20). Given the above, we will most definitely not be back to this restaurant. At least we leave not feeling totally aggrieved as we very much were after our previous visit. read more

We actually stumbled upon Bravo on our way to Olive Garden, we passed by and decided to do a quick turn around and check them out instead since neither of us had been here before. The first time we came it looked pretty busy so we opted to sit at the bar. The service was not the best and she forgot to ring in the Insalta Della Casa salad I ordered. Didn't realize until after we ate, she took it off the bill so no harm no foul. The second time we came here I was celebrating a special occasion, it was a Monday night so not busy at all and got seated right away in their beautiful dinning area. I wish I could remember our waitresses name because she was awesome. Very attentive and always made sure we were well taken care of but not to the point of being annoying checking on us too much. Both times we've ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, it's a definitely go to must if you're stopping in! The bread it comes with is so tasty and the artichoke dip is chefs kisses. They do serve you a bread basket and oil all ready but I sure do love my carbs so extra bread for me! The Chicken Parmesan is so delicious, I could go there once a week just for that. It could feed two people easily, we always share and still have left overs. This past visit I ordered the Fra Diavolo pasta and I really enjoyed that as well just wish it had a little more spice to it. Where to begin? This place is fake fine dining. The only thing above expectation are the insane prices. The only reason my wife and I went here was something called the Mamma Mia Deal - $25 for a 3 course meal. We looked the details up online. Absolutely ZERO mention the deal does not apply on weekends. I brought this up to our waiter when he informed us the deal only applies on weekdays and even showed him the online menu details (pictured). He spoke to a manager. After some deliberation he basically stated that, "yea, it doesn't say the deal applies only on weekdays. Sorry." Ok, zero service recovery or explanation. No apology offered. So, we order the $10.99 bowl of Italian Wedding soup. Normally, a fan favorite. Salty, paltry portion in a rather small bowl, ate more like a meatball beef stew. Definitely not Italian Wedding soup. So, what's next? We ordered the near $20 Calamari - aioli mayo and marinara simply slopped in the dish - no ramekins. Classy....oh, they also try and pad the dish by frying up little ass banana peppers and throwing those in so there are fewer actual pieces of calamari...awesome. What a shitshow. Take a look at the pic I snapped. Is this a $20 plate of calamari in your opinion? We left furious without ordering mains. Terribly disappointing. There were almost no customers in the place and it was 6pm on a Saturday. Should've been my clue this place is no good. Most surprisingly our server offered no form of contrition whatsoever. "Have a wonderful night" as if everything had been perfect. Well, in fairness he never inquired if we enjoyed anything. So, maybe ignorance is his bliss. My wife and I were driving to one of our favorite dining location when we spotted Bravo. We turned around and drove into their parking lot. Once we determined they had a bar we decided to have a drink, review the menu and decide on staying or going. The drinks were excellent and our waiter (Elianna) was the best! Because of her we decided to order and have dinner at the bar. The food was wonderful! Finally, after 4 years living in TN we found Italian food that was prepared "Northern Italy" style. I hadn't eaten at Bravo in quite some time, but a friend and I met here for dinner last week. We were seated quickly, and our server stopped by to get our drink orders. For dinner, my friend had an Insalada de la Casa and the ravioli appetizer. I had the salmon entree with grilled vegetables. One of my favorite parts of Bravo is their great bread, with olive oil and Italian spices! Everything was very good. Bravo was one of my daughter's favorite restaurants through the years. It's been in Knoxville for many years, and although many restaurants tend to go downhill over time, Bravo has remained solid. I started with a drink, a peach Bellini which reminded me of sun drenched peaches sold from hand made Gullah baskets on the SC coast. Fresh bread and seasoned dipping oil, calamari fried to perfection, and the main course of grilled chicken pasta. The service was attentive without being overbearing. I would refrain from ordering delivery from this restaurant. I got an order delivered via Uber eats. Unfortunately Uber doesn't let you rate the delivery driver and restaurant separately so leaving the review here. I ordered the chocolate cake dessert and it comes with ice cream. Normally restaurants separate the ice cream from the warm dessert since obviously it will melt and ruin the cake. That didn't happen here unfortunately so I had soggy cake sitting in a bowl of melted ice cream. I also requested utensils as I'm in a hotel and they left that out as well. I called to let them know in hopes they would want to fix these issues for the next customer, but they didn't give a flip. Didn't even apologize just said okay. My boyfriend and I came for date night and were honesty blown away by the food, and the white sangria? To die for. We had the shrimp scampi and the veal parmesan. The past was cooked perfectly and the sauce for each had a nice balance that didn't have you searching for more or swimming in sauce. The scampi sauce had a nice kick to it, not too much heat but the right amount of spice, and the shrimp was cook nicely. The veal was probably some of the best I've had in a while, nice crisp but not too thin where you couldn't taste the veal. I just wish there was more sauce on the veal. I did find it interesting that there was marinara with the veal but it was a light alfredo sauce on the pasta. The service was average, it didn't blow me away but I've definitely had worse at other places. I did find it interesting, we had a reservation for 6:30, however we were sat away from the rest of the dining room in the corner right next to a family with no one else in that area. To the family's benefit, their little one, not more than 2 or 3 years old, was able to run up and down the long booth, but I found it odd to be sat more isolated away from the rest of the dining room. Overall we will return, the food came out quick and there lots more on the menu I'd love to try. read more
