My daughter and I are in town for a University of Tennessee event and this was a great stop in a nice area! The service was good and the food was delicious.

    Oysters

My wife and I recently visited The Brass Pearl for dinner. I love a good raw oyster bar that features different types of oysters from around the country. However, I think this is the first time I've seen Oysters from Gulf states (Florida and Alabama) on the menu from an oyster bar like this. Oysters from the Gulf doesn't really scream "high quality" to me and maybe could be considered a red flag in this type of establishment. I skipped those and ordered the options from the New England area. The oysters were fresh and had varying flavor profiles from the salty and briny to citrusy and tangy but these were some of the smallest oysters I have tried so I was left wanting a little more from the experience. I also ordered the Fisherman's Stew. This was delicious with rich tomato sauce with a hint of spiciness, tender shrimp, smokey lobster, flakey fish, briny tender mussels and a cheese al dente risotto. The toasted bread was nice for dipping. Overall worth a visit.

I stumbled into the brass pearl when looking for a place to pass a little time since the other bars in the surrounding area were closed. I came right at 4 which is when happy hour starts. The happy hr menu is limited, just a few cocktails (and they didn't have the ingredients for most of them) so I just got a glass of sparkling wine (it was only like $5). The bartender (Hope) was very sweet and helpful, she gave me some recs for the future when coming back to Gatlinburg/the smokies. The vibe in this bar was also good, I'm sure it's a very nice place to have dinner in the evenings. Overall I wouldn't seek this place out again but it was a very nice place to spend 30 mins while waiting for the rain to pass!

Visited Knoxville with a friend and chose to come for dinner. It was a fun and friendly vibe! I was shocked to find oysters this great in the mountains. They were so good! Each dish was just amazing. The lobster dip with shrimp chips...come on. It was delicious. The tacos I got were so delicious and then my friend and I split a salad as well. I loved every bite and the service was great too! I can't wait to visit again when I come back to Knoxville.

Chilled shrimp and a dozen oysters

We stopped in for lunch after the farmers market and it was so great!! Fernie was such a fabulous waitress and the food was perfect! I had the chilled shrimp and a caesar salad and my mom had the oysters. All of it was exceptional! The atmosphere is so fun! Great food, great service, great place!!

Excellent seafood stew; fish of the day is a white fish, also perfectly prepared. Nice ambiance with unique decor such as the octopus chandelier. Warm and intuitive service. Perfect location on the square in downtown Knoxville.

    Swordfish and Fisherman's stew

Came here for dinner and had an absolutely amazing experience! The server was super nice and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. We started with oysters on the rocks and the calamari- both were absolutely delicious!! The calamari had a nice bite and the sauce was a perfect pairing, my boyfriend loved his oysters, the taste was great. For our mains we got the fisherman's stew and the swordfish- again, absolutely delish! The stew was, quote, "the best seafood I've ever had" (per the boyfriend) and my swordfish was fresh and cooked perfectly. We could not have asked for a better dinner- we highly recommend you try this spot!

It was a gorgeous day and we had the pup so decided to eat outside on their cozy patio. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming to us and our Buddy. Our server, Mya, came right out with a friendly welcoming smile. She brought our pup a water bowl and brought us a bottle of regular water. (They also have sparkling). I ordered the crab cake sandwich and my husband ordered the Pearl Burger. Both sandwiches were HUGE and came with a plentiful helping of fries. They had a tasty seasoning on the fries. Their tea was delicious! The atmosphere was perfect and the chairs were very comfy. We would definitely recommend this place.

First of all Henry was amazing! For first timers he had our party WELL taken care of! The fisherman's stew was absolutely the best meal I had in Knoxville. Everything was so well put together and the artichoke toast was such a great paring. Oyster Rockefeller was amazing as well. As you see, there was not a crumb left. This has become my new favorite spot to dine in market square and I will be returning every time I come to Knox. If you're reading this request Henry. He's awesome.

    The perfect oysters!

The Brass Pearl is an unparalleled seafood experience! The raw oysters were perfect... no grit and so tasty. We both had fisherman's stew that contained rock lobster, shrimp, mussels and fish atop lobster risotto with a tangy tomato stew. There was a toasted large piece of sourdough bread that was great for soaking up the stew. And here is a shout out and thanks to our attentive, knowledgeable, abd fun server Mya! Thank you, Brass Pearl, for a really enjoyable dinner.

    The seafood tower! 130$!

I just know the person I was with had it. We sat at the bar and the ambiance is really intimate. I have read now after being home that I guess they hide drink recipes in some of the books? I am not sure if that is true or not. If you can get a seat at the bar, it's so fun. Trey was great, as were the ladies! Trey puts on a little show with each drink he crafts. The drinks are ridiculously good. I would not be able to choose a favorite. I have no clue what the bill damage was, but I can say that between the both of us, we had every drink on the menu. Now I need to find reasons to go back to Knoxville just to go to the Peter Kern Library!

When we walked in, she glared at us as if we had interrupted something. She didn't greet us, didn't ask what we'd like to try, only gave us one word answers to any question that we asked. Never once smiled or tried to engage us. My friend was so frustrated with trying to get information from her that he stood up and almost walked out. I kept trying to engage her and even complemented her cute dress. Nothing. Stone face. I wanted to try the amaro flight and asked for it. She prepared it, set it in front of me, and said "so you'll want to close out now?" I told her "yes, that would be great, when I'm finished with my tasting". She proceeded to lean up against the bar with her back to us and didn't say another word. I had to get up and walk to the register, and when she finally turned around, I asked her "have we done something to upset you?" She said "no, why?" I said "because you seem REALLY annoyed that we're here". Her only response was to turn the register screen around and tell me the total. I'm so sad about this because I really wanted to taste other items and get a cocktail, but she was SO unpleasant and we felt SO unwelcome., Seeing all of the other great reviews, I can only imagine that they were with other people. We ordered slushies to enjoy on the patio and a flight with Hi Rye Whiskey, Ginferous Gin (favorite!), Uproot Gin, and Barrel Rested Cacoa Liqueur. I can't believe the differing flavors they can produce within the same type of booze. Masterful! The bartenders are friendly and so dang knowledgable. We purchased a bottle of Ginferous Gin and have kept the party going at home. Can't wait to go back! What a cool spot.

I wasn't blown away and felt like the flavors were lackluster. The pasta was an alright red sauce, flavors could've been a bit more complex and boldly fresh. Service itself was good and the drinks were just okay. I like that they have many cocktail options to choose from, but my drink was honestly straight juice. As someone who's lightweight, I was shocked to find that the portions for drinks for the little amount of alcohol for $15 is a bit absurd (I got the st Richard ride).
