I bought a top-of-the-line GE refrigerator from Bray and Scarff -- what sold me, I'm embarrassed to admit, was the Keurig coffee maker attachment that slides into the door (next to the ice and water dispenser). It is so cool to be able to press a button and get hot coffee, tea, or hot chocolate out of your fridge! Unfortunately, the Keurig dispenser didn't work on the first fridge that was delivered. A GE repairman came out and was unable to fix it -- what a disappointment. But Tom Mamas, the Bray and Scarff salesman, was there for me. He arranged to have the fridge replaced with the minimum of fuss, and he never stopped following up on all the parties involved (repairmen, the folks at Bray and Scarff headquarters who had to approve the replacement, and so on.) Unfortunately, again, the SECOND fridge's Keurig brewer didn't work, either! Again, Tom Mamas was there helping to arrange for a repairman, and when the repairman wasn't able to help, Tom ordered us a new fridge AGAIN. The third time was the charm and that the new fridge is working as it should. I want to thank Tom for staying in touch during the whole process and facilitating communication with those responsible for repairing/replacing the non functioning fridges. I really appreciate his help, friendliness, frequent communication and professionalism. This was not a case of, oh, the sale is complete, my job here is done. Tom stayed with me to the bitter end, advocating for me and making sure the whole replacement process came off smoothly and as expeditiously as possible (even when I started to get cranky about the whole thing). Bottom line -- GE's product was defective, twice, but Bray and Scarff stood behind their sale and made things right. I will certainly contact Tom again when I need new appliances. read more

We purchased 4 appliances for the kitchen less than 3 years ago. They were all GE Profile and the stove has an induction top. Within 2 years the stove top went out and fortunateIy we had purchased the extended warranty, so we got it repaired. One year later it stopped working again, this time including the oven. This time we waited almost a month for the parts and when the service technician came, he spend 4 hours (!) and still the oven wasn't working, which I didn't realize until after he'd left. Called again and a different tech came out only to discover that the other one 'crossed wires' and burned out the electrical panel replacement part for the oven. So he orders it again. And we wait another 3-4 weeks for the part to get in. The oven still didn't work properly even though the technician tested it before he left (the same guy who crossed the wires, BTW) and it appeared to be working. I leave town for 2 weeks and when I come back I try to bake a pie. Discovered that even though the oven appeared to be heating up, it never reached it's appointed temperature. Big Fail! Back to calling for a repairman, who came a week later and has ordered another part. Problem now? It's been 3-4 weeks, I called and was told the service department for Bray and Scarff is not "essential" and I must wait until mid-April before I can expect to see a technician. This morning I call again and am assured that stoves, refrigerators and washing machines are essential and they will do a "status check" on the ordered part. read more

When I needed to replace my washer, dryer, and stove, the lockdown in place in Maryland made shopping for the replacements difficult. Visits to the Annapolis store were permitted by appointment only. Although I made an appointment for the next day, the salesman, Bob, was kind enough to call me a short time later saying that he would stay past the normal closing time in order to help me that very afternoon. We discussed several equipment options, I made decisions, and the orders were placed. I was particularly grateful that the chosen appliances were In stock and that delivery could be arranged in only a few days. Delivery was accomplished on schedule, the old appliances were removed, and the new appliances installed quickly. The two young men who installed the items (Ben and Shane) could not have been better: knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and polite. Tom my salesman was great and helped me qualify for four different rebates that covered a good portion of installation charges, delivery charge, as well as both B&S and Kitchenaid rebates for purchases multiple appliances. Installation was flexible and they worked around my kitchen renovation schedule, dropping all the appliances, but only installing the fridge and double wall oven, as the countertops and plumbing were still underway so the cooktop and dishwasher install had to come at a later date. DJ, Mike and Shane were a great install team. They were courteous, fast, and did a good job. They cleaned up afterwards and hauled away everything. Even put my wall oven in a self clean mode to start to burn off the coatings on the elements and racks (bad smell), but better do it once and not have to do it when cooking food, right? They even enjoyed playing with my dog. read more

Needed a new compact washing machine quickly and wanted a Bosch or GE. Looked at the usual places (Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes) and found limited availability and installation dates that were much later that I needed. A friend recommended Bray and Scarff and I took a chance. My representative Ian greeted me as I walked into the store, was very friendly and I had his complete attention as we looked at the different models and discussed pros and cons. Their prices matched the big box stores. They had the one I want in stock, offered 1 year interest free financing and could deliver and install in 4 days, which fit my window perfectly. The previous owner installed a range top purchased a couple years ago from Bray and Scarff and it was -installed by someone else. The shims gave way and the range top dropped a little bit the other day. I called Bray and Scarff and got an immediate call back. Even though they hadn't installed it, manager Brian Wright found someone who could fix it for me though it wasn't their responsibility. Miguel arrived on time and spent two hours making sure it was properly shimmed and wouldn't fall again. He even adjusted a drawer in my cabinet below the unit so it would close properly as it hadn't before. Miguel and Bray and Scharff went way above and beyond and they even called the next day to make sure it was right. I strongly recommend buying your next appliances there and having them install them. read more

We purchased a full suite of GE kitchen appliances from the Annapolis store. Our experience from start to finish has been wonderful. Bill Lins worked with us to make the best selections for our needs. Ruben and Nester came to make the initial delivery and installation. The refrigerator, oven and dishwasher were installed in no time. These polite young men were extremely quick, efficient, and clean. We appreciated their work so much that we requested their team return for the second installation (cooktop, downdraft and hub) after our carpenter had completed the cabinet changes. We had an excellent experience with Bray & Scarff. We purchased four new appliances and so far have been pleased with each. The saleswoman in the store was knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices compared to area dealers, plus we took advantage of Labor Day sales. The delivery crew were excellent, particularly the crew supervisor, Cliff. He was professional, efficient, and took care to install every appliance correctly. Many vendors now use third-party delivery services which turn out to be less than ideal because there's little accountability. It was great to deal directly with Bray & Scarff delivery. read more

My past KitchenAid built-in refrigerator lasted 18 years, but started to fail and needed several repair visits. One day it gave up completely just before I was leaving on a trip. I called Bray & Scarff; they sent someone out for site inspection in 2 days and had the new refrigerator installed in under a week. Absolute peace of mind and great service. Yes, I wish SubZero was less expensive, but I know they're more serviceable and reliable that KitchenAid and I expect this one to outlive me. After the installation of our new Subzero refrigerator a week ago left it not level and not plumb, Bray and Scarff sent three excellent technicians today to make it right.
