Chicken combo: Peruvian chicken, Peruvian beans and rice, French fries
    Kelly M.

Yum!!! The Peruvian chicken was delicious. I had dinner with my college attending grandson. We ordered the chicken combo which consisted of a whole chicken with two sides. We chose french fries and beans and rice as our sides. The chicken was so moist and flavorful. The beans and rice were delicious and plentiful. The fries were crispy and hot. The gentleman behind the counter spoke a little English but did his best to be helpful. The young lady that took over our order was super nice. Although this is a counter service restaurant, there are tables inside to eat. Looking forward to visiting again.

I was in the mood for Peruvian chicken and this was the perfect solution for my hungrr. The chicken is juicy and tasty. I would definitely recommend it.

The food was terrible, my fiancé is Peruvian and grew up eating Peruvian food and this isn't it. Everything was overpriced for what you get. We ordered the lomo, they had no steak and put chicken in it instead, still was charged full price. 48$ on lunch for a bunch of food that'll be in the trash. Don't eat here

Great food, fast and friendly service. Probably seating for 20 or less. Feels like more of a takeout place but regardless, the food they are serving up is excellent. 2:00 on a Saturday and every seat was full. Chicken was well seasoned, perfectly prepared, and juicy. We saw a couple of special orders come out - one was a fried rice type dish with octopus and shrimp - Arroz chaupa. Another was a steak with peppers and onions served with rice and fries. I'd definitely come back to try the fish as well.

Stopped in with the family because they wanted Peruvian roasted chicken. Not exactly a wide range of options in the area. We ordered the whole chicken combo with avocado salad and fries. We were doing to order chichi morado. The printed menu in front of us showed a price of $2.99 but showed up as $4.68 on the POS screen. I questioned why the difference and the woman pointed to the large menu screen above and said the price had increased. I said the beverages on the menu screen were actually the only items that didn't show a price. She said it was a mistake. Not sure why this is a common theme among Peruvian restaurants in Florida. I see the price on the Google Menu shows $4.16 but still not what they're charging. We opted for bottled water and was charged and were told $1.30 per bottle but were charged $4.68. Coincidence it was the same price as the chichi morado? Again no printed price for the water so who knows. The avocado salad was actually pretty fresh. The French fries which are sold as a side for $8 were pretty skimpy. I mean fries are cheap and most places will give a pile of them The chicken was OK (definitely had better) but the chicken was a bit on the anorexic side. The haucatay sauce was pretty good but the chinichuri was lacking for sure. Was disappointed based on the reviews versus the reality.

Had an itch for Peruvian food and decided to give Brazas Chicken a try. Located inside a shopping center, parking is plentiful. It's a small little restaurant that seats about 15-20 people. I was greeted once I got in with a list of what they didn't have. One of which was Rotisserie Chicken...?!?? They ran out and were 45 minutes away from having more chicken ready. Well luckily I wasn't in the mood for chicken but many people walked in and out while we waited due to no chicken. Wife and I ordered the Pollo Saltado, Jalea Mixta and Papa a la Huancaina. Wife enjoyed her Pollo Saltado and I noticed the potatoes were hand cut and they purposely separated them from the sauce so they don't get soggy and allow you to mix it yourself. My Jalea Mixta was a large portion. I knew immediately I was going to have leftovers. It came with Yuca Frita. All the fried seafood tasted fresh and it was lightly battered which was nice. The Papa a la Huancaina was also plentiful and delicious. Portions overall were a good amount. I will note that the prices were higher than noted on the menu which were a little off pudding but I felt better once I saw the portions. Staff was really nice and attentive. They came over several times to check on us. And I was also impressed at how clean and nice the bathrooms were. Overall it scratched my Peruvian itch. Them being out of their namesake food item and prices being off was a bummer but the quality of the food made up for some of those errors. I would come back when in St Augustine and recommend to others.

Tucked in a plaza near Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine is this small and quaint Peruvian owned joint. We were assisted by the owner had a good conversation on how they prepared their dishes. We got the whole red snapper, whole Peruvian chicken with sweet plaintains, yuca and fries. The fish was delicious and crunchy yet not greasy since it was fried. The chicken was flavorful and we got it piping hot. We enjoyed our food as well as the friendliness of the staff.

One thing my family and I sorely miss from home is good Peruvian chicken & sweet plantains. So after finding out my son's Sensei was Peruvian, I quickly asked him if he had any recommendations for good Peruvian chicken. I could not be more thankful for his recommendation. The juicy chicken was packed with flavor all the way down to the bone and their sweet plantains was a delicious way to cap off the meal. We also had their sweet potato fries, but sadly that did not survive the ride home as we were famished, but they too were amazing. =) Thanks Brazas Chicken & we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Delicious Pollo a la braza, fries, avocado salad, and salsas! Yummy! Thank you.

Awesome Peruvian food, great service and love the ambiance. They always go the extra mile to make you feel like home. Thank you for keeping the Peruvian Tradition alive!

They are permanently closed. Their chicken was the best in St. Augustine. Sorry to see them go.

We had a reservation and they sat us right away. Reservations are usually required since they get full real quick. The server was kind and explained the menu and meal service to us. We started with specialty cocktails. Everything is hand made and fresh. You can taste the difference. We got some appetizers. Personally, my favorite was the yucca with the trio of dipping sauces. Each sauce was better than the last, and I wanted to continue eating each one long after it was done. The octopus was delicate and melted in your mouth. The flavor combos in the volcano dish were so wonderful. It was like chips and dip. I was most excited for my meal. The pesto pasta with the hanger steak. EVERY.THING.WAS.AMAZING in this dish. I was savoring each bite. Getting sad when I was reaching the end. The pesto was packed with flavor. Creamy and aromatic. The hanger steak?! Oh boy... perfectly cooked. Juicy. Melted in your mouth. I wanted a lot more of that. What a great piece of meat. I was reallllly looking forward to dessert. And it did not disappoint! I got the s'mores dessert. I love s'mores everything. And this was an elevated s'mores like I never had before. The presentation was WOW. The smore was in a bag that they lit on fire at the table. The fire charred the marshmallow on top perfectly. The Carmel on top of the delegate shortbeard was melt in your mouth. Those shortbeard cookies were incredible. Buttery and crumbly. Perfect. The strawberry compote to mix with it was fresh and bursting with flavor. All the flavors melding together to light your taste buds on fire! I would LOVE to return and try some more items. We had a wonderful experience!

My husband had the Parihuela and the Seco de Res, and he loved every bite as well. What made our experience truly special was the attention and care from the chef and manager. What an unbelievably disappointing experience…read more We chose Sabor Mix because of its impressive 4.6-star rating and a menu filled with dishes that looked absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, we never got to taste a single bite because of what has to be one of the most absurd customer service experiences we've had at a restaurant. We arrived around 6:30 PM for dinner and were only the second customers in the restaurant. It was so empty that we weren't even sure they were open. We made what we thought was the simplest request imaginable--a plate of spaghetti with olive oil and garlic for our child. The waitress returned and informed us that the chef could not make it. Read that again. Plain spaghetti with olive oil and garlic. We honestly thought she was joking. Instead, we were left standing there feeling embarrassed, almost as if we had made some outrageous request. It's pasta, olive oil, and garlic--ingredients found in virtually every kitchen serving Italian-inspired dishes. The idea that a chef couldn't--or wouldn't--prepare something so basic was mind-blowing. If the restaurant has a rigid policy that absolutely nothing outside the printed menu can be prepared, no matter how simple the request, then customers should be told that upfront. Instead, we were made to feel like our request was unreasonable, when in reality it couldn't have been more basic. We were genuinely looking forward to trying the food, but after that interaction, we simply walked out and took our business elsewhere. A restaurant can have a beautiful menu, but if it lacks the willingness to provide even the most basic level of customer accommodation, the dining experience begins and ends with poor customer service. We can't rate the food because we never had the opportunity to try it. We can, however, rate how we were treated, and based on that experience, this visit was incredibly disappointing. This version emphasizes how the interaction made you feel while focusing criticism on the restaurant's service and policy rather than making assumptions about the chef's abilities. It tends to be more persuasive and less likely to be dismissed by readers.
