We can always count on Los Andes for amazing food. Today we were craving something healthy and stopped in for their delicious rotisserie chicken -- it never disappoints! I paired mine with rice and fries, and my husband chose rice and tostones. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is consistently outstanding. Highly recommend!

I first stopped by here a while ago to pick up some Aguadito de pollo when my daughter wasn't feeling well and it was absolutely delicious! The comfort and flavor of the soup really stuck with me but somehow I ended up forgetting about this gem until recently. I'm so glad I came back! I ordered to go again. This time I had the Steak Arroz Chaufa and wow, it did not disappoint! The portion was huge-to-go container was literally overflowing. The steak was tender, cooked to perfection and the fried rice was bursting with flavor. I also tried the Beef and Aji Gallina Empanada. Both of the fillings were incredible wrapped in golden flaky pastries. Couldn't resist trying the Lucuma Cheesecake. Did not disappoint. Creamy, not too sweet, subtle caramel like flavor. So glad I remembered this spot. The food is fantastic, the portions are generous and the service was friendly and fast.

We were car shopping and wanted something a little different! Los Andes was what we stumbled on and we were so delighted! Their menu is simple and doesn't overwhelm you with a million options. We have a family friend who is from Peru and has cooked some of the items that were on the menu before. I was so excited for the Lomo Soltado and my husband was super excited for the pesto that came with roast chicken. The owner was quick to greet us, seat us, and take our drink orders and then our food order. The food came out quickly. Lomo Soltado is a Peruvian steak stirfy over fresh cut potato fries served with white rice. Oh. My. Goodness was it delicious! My hisband loved the roasted chicken had flavor throughout and the pesto pasta was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend Los Andes enoug!

My husband and I actually found this place in the yelp app and decided to try it out for a lunch date. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. It's a quaint little restaurant not a lot of pizazz but perfect for the environment. The food was top notch j and came out quickly. If you are looking for a lunch spot this is it.

Another Peruvian gem in Jacksonville located on Atlantic Boulevard near the beach. Great tasting and fresh food served in a comfortable atmosphere. Always a pleasure to see Señor Joshua who is courteous, knowledgeable and professional. A wonderful dining experience was had and I look forward to many more!

Well wow wow wow! The empanadas, chimichurri was spot on. Home run. The chicken and rice was extremely tasty. Naturally you have to have an Alfajores and espresso. I make my own empanadas and chimmi. My standards are high. This place crushed it. I'll be back.

Those sauces are amazing! Spicy, but SO good! Top right - Churrasco Argentino (my other friend's meal)

Did a small dinner with some friends. One of them had never been here before. I was sooooooo excited for them to try it! I always always always get the Lomo Saltado. Soooooo good! And their rice that comes with it ... oh maaaaaaan. It's not plain. It looks like plain white rice, it is not! I don't know how to explain it, but when you try it ... oh, you'll understand! Sooooo goooood! That Chaufa was awesome! You better believe I took the leftovers to work for lunch the next day! Hahahaha SO. GOOD. And we celebrated my birthday by sharing a flan. We were all full, but the portion we shared was perfect. And she had a candle to make it official! Hahaha Thank yooooooou!!! Highly recommend this place. Food is awesome and the staff is super friendly.

There were so many bad things and honestly nothing good except the rainbow we saw going in for dinner. Our friend who lives in St. Augustine wanted to go there for her birthday dinner, so three of us drove down from Jacksonville in two different cars. From the beginning it was a hassle. A hassle to get a table six day ahead of the requested date so we had to go with a 5:45 spot, I called to preorder a vegetable dish as I am a vegetarian and they said the reservation that was so hard to get would have to be cancelled and the entire table would need to do preordered entrees so I passed on that and then I called to ask about the corkage fee to bring my own wine and that was a no. Despite Florida allowing that, I do understand that is at the individual restaurants' discretion, but it is short sighted as that is pure profit for the restaurant. I dine at only high end restaurants locally and when traveling and they all allow byob wine with a corkage fee. We waited for the lady who drove us over to the restaurant to park and once inside (after checking in while she parked and they said we all had to be there), we stood around for another 10 minutes and then asked about our table and the two ladies at the hostess stand did not even seem to know who we were. I did speak to the manager in that time regarding the wine policy and she was not very friendly as neither were the other two people I spoke to on the days prior. When we were seated we were basically told they do things "their way" not that wording but interpretation. You must order everything at once- appetizers, sides, entrees, etc. The exact wording was "it is easier for the kitchen". I am sorry, but who is paying the check here? We did have several special requests regarding no onions for me and a few questions from those of us who had not been there. I knew from the minute we ordered which took us a little time to decide, that there was no way things were going to come out as requested and I was spot on though I did not realize how bad it could get/be. The charcuterie board was a joke. They did seperate the meat from the cheese as asked but it was pathetic and they had the nerve to serve stale Pepperidge Farm assorted crackers with that. A few pieces of other things but primarily PF crackers. Who does that? We ordered two salads to split between the four of us and asked that be the second course along with some bread. Some of the ladies ordered the beef tip appetizer as their entree to follow the charcuterie board and salads. I ordered the vegetable plate and the other lady ordered a filet special. Charcuterie came out and again pathetic, bread came out and beef tips. Not at all what was requested. We watched people get their meals that were seated after us and one and a half hours later we still had no salads. We finally asked another server to help us out and got our salads. Two hours later, we still did not have the vegetable plate or the filet. Needless to say, we were over it and found the manager to cash out and leave. They did comp the food we didn't receive and the apps but not the beef tips, bread, or drinks so we still spent $180 plus tip. In my opinion, they should have comped it all as it was such a terrible experience. We left to meet friends at Pesca Rooftop and they generously offered us some of the pizzas they had ordered as they heard about our horrible experience. We should have just gone there from the start. This was a one and done for those of us from Jacksonville. From service to management to food it was a huge disappointment. I sure hope they have a better team with better attitudes and such when they open in Jacksonville as we have lots of great restaurants here and that will not work here.

I've been to Salento twice now, so I feel like I got a good sense of what they have to offer…read more I started with the carne empanadas, which came with complimentary chimichurri and hot sauce. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.
