Plaintains were a big portion, so I took half home. The wrap was very tropical with fruit and sushi grade tuna. I ate it all, which was greedy of me, but I enjoyed it and felt overfull (my bad). Hubby had the clam and shrimp chowder and 2 apps. Very tender clams, thick texture and more shrimp flavor than clam, tasty for sure. Conch fritters good and in our top 5 (we get them everywhere and have been disappointed but now here). The wings were cooked perfectly, not heavy and crispy. Quite enjoyable little beachside restaurant! Service was friendly and welcomed questions. We got the mahi mahi fish sliders which had pretty good flavor and the fish pieces were quite big, falling out of the bread. Some bites were less flavorful than others but there is a wide array of sauces on the table to season with. We also got the corn cake entree with the shrimp which is essentially an arepa. The shrimp is quite well flavored and overall this is a delicious dish and quite filling. The mango slaw is literally just coleslaw with mango pieces but there are mango chunks throughout the slaw so it has an overall sweet flavor. The sweet potato waffle fries are about what one can expect and it comes with this cinnamon butter dip. read more

It was our first time here and it was kinda of late and not much was open late so we decided to give this place a try. We were seated right away and our waitress was friendly. We started with the jerk chicken nachos, the Caribbean hush puppies and wings! Well the apps were delicious! Full of flavor and portions were just right. We stopped by after a bike ride for a quick bite before riding back downtown. The place is cute and bright with plenty of booths and tables. Our server was helpful in pointing out health options on the menu. I went with a Avocado Mango Salad topped with mango, red peppers, red onions and avocado. Served with Caribbean vinaigrette on the side and topped with blackened chicken. The chicken is not spicy just flavorful. My husband had the jerk tuna tacos. He was a bit disappointed in the lack of flavor in the dish. I didn't try it so I can't comment. With so many other restaurants around I would probably go to a taco shop instead if that's what you are craving. Loved loved loved the food here. I was in town for work, and this place had good reviews. It was close to our hotel, so my colleague and I checked it out on the day we arrived. We were greeted and seated quickly. There were a ton of items on the menu that sounded so good that I had a hard time narrowing it down..when in doubt..ask your server. Lol. She recommended anything with the fish so I chose the fried fish tacos. The fish was sooo crispy. They lightly toast the tortilla shells which helped to hold everything in while you eat it. I had the chipotle shrimp tacos which were marked as their specialty. The tacos arrived with a great sauce but the were tiny, tiny, shrimp like in a can. My goodness that was a shock!! The texture and bite were seriously off. They were about 17.00 so I expected medium, plump, seasoned gulf shrimp. These were bagged Chinese shrimp. I was a bit disgusted so I didn't finish them. The corn cake and fried coconut shrimp were both good. The rum cake was very good too. But this restaurant sits near the beach, is in Florida and I was served Chinese, worm like shrimp? Inexcusable. I'm a New Yorker living in North Carolina, but while in St. Augustine for a family reunion, my wife suggested we find a local spot to try. After scanning the high ratings, Mango Mango caught my eye, an interesting, creative menu, reasonable prices, and clearly a local favorite. We went as a family, my wife, two of our three kids, and me. Now, my kids are extremely picky eaters (and I can be too), but not a single dish we had was anything short of spectacular. Every plate was a masterpiece, perfectly balanced, inventive, and bursting with flavor. You can tell there's a chef in that kitchen with a phenomenal palate and genuine creativity. We started with appetizers that blew us away, moved on to four different entrées (each one better than the last), and couldn't resist dessert, which turned out to be mind-blowing. The kind of flavors that make you stop mid-bite just to appreciate them. The next day, we went to a much pricier, highly sought-after restaurant that requires booking weeks in advance. It wasn't even close to Mango Mango's in flavor, creativity, or execution. This little place outshined it completely. The restaurant itself is modest in appearance, but it filled up quickly, clearly the locals know what they have here. We ended up spending more than planned, but only because we couldn't stop ordering more dishes, each time thinking, Maybe this will be the one that's just okay. It never happened. If we lived nearby, I'm convinced we'd work our way through the entire menu, just to prove to ourselves that there's something less than perfect, though I doubt we'd find it. To start, we had the Jalapeño Poppers stuffed with shrimp and crab, drizzled in a delicious Caribbean cheese sauce. For our mains, we tried Trevor's Chipotle Shrimp Tacos, which came with seasoned shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onions, a two-cheese blend, and a Santa Fe sauce. We also had The Ultimate Island Burger, which was grilled to perfection and topped with apricot honey mustard, pepper jack cheese, beer-battered onion rings, brown sugar jerk rubbed bacon, lettuce, and tomato. PLEASE READ!!!!! We have NEVER EVER waited this long for anything at a restaurant. We had 32 minute wait outside, then we ordered soup, crab cakes and a quesadilla. 40 minutes later, nothing. We had to ask the waitress to at least give us a bowl of soup. It came within 2 minutes. We ended up taking things to go. They gave us a15% discount which we appreciated. They are a local restaurant and we understand, but the table after us got all their food when they were seated 10 minutes after us. Obviously after walking back to our hotel the food died so I won't comment on the food quality. The soup was good so far. They said it's never like this but how do I know read more

But, the one area was so hot you couldn't even enjoy your food. If you are sensitive to that, just a heads up. Now on to the food. Their French fries are top notch. Truly some of the best. The mahi tacos are absolutely delicious and filled to the brim. We got the crab cakes as well and they were huge. Yes there is some filler but they are huge so it works out. I don't care for tartar so I got another sauce. The Santa Fe is close to a remoulade sauce and was delish with a little spice. Honestly, id request that. The food CAN be good. I LOVE the coconut shrimp and truffle fries. The pineapple dipping sauce is literally so good. Tonight, I ordered the mango burger while sitting at the bar with my husband. They must've been busy because my burger came out with two bottom buns and both were stale. The burger itself was really good and it had avocado on it so that made it OK. I still ask our bartender Maya for a top bun. She seemed annoyed with me, which wasn't cool. Made a pit stop to Mango Mango's before a concert at The Amp and I was super pleased with my visit! My husband and I were quickly seated and serviced during our visit. As a starter, I knew we had to try their highly recommended corn cakes and they did not disappoint. They were cheesy and delicious, I would recommend these to anyone visiting. For our main course I got the tacos and they were very good and flavorful. The ahi tuna was good but I think the taco was very tasty because of the toppings they add. My husband also really enjoyed his burger and the fries were really crispy and tasty (I kept stealing his fries lol). This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back.
