    Royal Soft Shell Crab
    JiMmy P.

My wife and I kicked off our day with a satisfying lunch. We started off with Thai wings which were sweet and came with a little kick. I selected the royal soft shell crab for my Main with flavorful crab and curry sauce. It came with a side of rice. My wife chose the house special noodle soup loaded with chicken, shrimp, pork, and wonton. We enjoyed our substantial lunch and appreciated the great service. We're already planning our return. All Alcoholic beverages are 50% off on Wednesdays. Great deal!

I come back every year. Things have changed, but it's still good. This time I tried their curry, and I LOVE how even though it was so flavorful, it wasn't overpowering. Color me impressed. I also ordered their special combination soup. They really knock it out of the part with the wonton dumpling noodles. Their soup is on point as usual. WOW I wish this place could be here forever, if I can get one closer to Jax, I would be so happy. They did cross out a lot of their sushi offerings, I'm not sure why, but this place shines in their Thai and southeast Asian dishes. The staff is always attentive. I came here at noon on a Saturday, and there went too many people. I wish they could get more press because they definitely deserve it. it's a mom and pop shop and I always get the same lady serving me, and she's wonderful as usual. What a sweet lady. Ambience here has changed. I think they're trying to hear their restaurant more towards a dinner place than lunch. The fresh flowers are beautiful, but they deliberately dim the lighting to made it cozy. Instead of kpop playing in the back on the screen they have small cooking shows moved forward and the decorate the side with different alcoholic beverage bottles. Overall, this place has never disappointed me. I love it and people truly should check this place out. please support this mom and pop shop!

Took my kids here to eat for lunch. They have a good selection for their lunch menu for Thai entrees, I recommend the PANANG ! I ordered the pad prik chicken and rice. Their pho is okay, the broth is amazing but there wasn't much options for the toppings ! They are currently out of sushi right now as they don't have a sushi chief, I hope that returns soon!! The service is quick and there is usually no wait and a lot of space to eat and bring family.

*vegan review* My in-laws, husband, and I stopped here for lunch on a day trip to St. Augustine and really enjoyed our food! Hubby and I split two orders of pad see ew (easily modified to be vegan) and an order of the pad kra-pow basil. In-laws got the shrimp red curry and basil fried rice with chicken and they really enjoyed their food. Would recommend this place if you're in the area!

Absolutely amazing Thai, Sushi and Pho! We had the Sushi rolls with no rice! Absolutely terrific! They are so much better without rice! The flavors really punch through! We got the Thai soups-Tom Kha with Shrimp! So packed with Thai Spices. The Pad Thai w/ Shrimp is the best Ive had. Beautiful presentation! Amazing Pho-House with Tofu instead of noodles was perfect! The meats were plentiful! Service is always amazing!

Was in the mood for Thai food. Walked into restaurant and 2 men in front said sit anywhere. My wife wanted a booth but it wasn't clean. We sat at a table. Waited about 10 minutes as employees of the restaurant walked by with no acknowledgment. That's okay wasn't in a hurry. Finally ordered water and beer. 3/4 of the beers they were out of. Again no drinks for another 10 minutes until my wife said something to one of the men. They brought one right away. Asked for hot sauce and waitress forgot. Got the food and hot sauce. I asked for another beer. No beer had to take off bill. Food was okay nothing special. Had a few Shrimp with tails on them. I'm disappointed I wish the experience was better.

    Chicken Pad Thai Noodles

Crab Rangoon appetizer very good. Chicken Pad Thai main entree, medium spice was just right. Very good flavor. I appreciated the chili sauce variety. Thai ice tea for beverage spot on.

Feb 28, '24 Back again! Just a sucker for delicious food; what can I say! Drunken noodles w/ Tofu 5/5 spicy did the trick Though the portion size seems less from last time.

    Excellent food,exceptional service! Panang curry

The Pho tonight was really tasty. Our only criticism is that the portion of meat was small. Next time we will pay for extra meat.

We started with the crab Rangoon and fried shumai, both perfectly crisp, fresh, and full of flavor without being greasy or heavy. Every bite was well-balanced and clearly made to order. The highlight of the meal was the Baitong Lobster. It was beautifully cooked, tender, and infused with rich flavor that made it the standout dish of the night. Easily one of the best seafood dishes we had during our trip. Overall, the quality, presentation, and execution across every dish were excellent. This is a place that delivers consistently strong food and is well worth a visit when in St. Augustine.

If you're into Thai food, this place is worth finding. The atmosphere was chill and comfortable, nothing over the top but it felt welcoming the moment you walked in. Our waiter was genuinely helpful -- not in a rehearsed way, just actually attentive and knew the menu well. That alone goes a long way. We ordered the thai fried rice and pad see ew, both were really good. The flavors were on point and the portions were solid for the price. Nothing on the menu felt overpriced, which is refreshing. We also grabbed a few appetizers and they held their own, but the rock shrimp absolutely stole the show. That was probably the highlight of the whole meal -- really well done. If you're passing through or live in the area and haven't been, it's worth checking out. Not flashy, just good food at a fair price with people who actually seem to care. That's all you really need.

The hummus plate was insanely good. The burrata sandwich with prosciutto was a perfect summertime lunch, and the steak sandwich was also great even though my boyfriend only let me have one bite. The highlight was the Caesar salad because it was PERFECTLY briny and satisfying, and they're not skimpy with the anchovies. 10/10!

Here's the revised review with your additional comments incorporated naturally:…read more I wanted to love Forgotten Tonic because the menu looked unique, but unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in St. Augustine. First, the seating. The tables are unusually tall, making us feel like little kids trying to sit at the adults' table. It wasn't comfortable for anyone in our group. Then there were the lights. They continuously blinked above our table, and it was so distracting that we asked to move. Unfortunately, the second table had the same issue. I know St. Augustine is famous for its ghosts, but I wasn't expecting them to be playing with the lights at 7:00 p.m. while the sun was still shining! The biggest frustration was ordering. We were told menu items could be modified, but after placing our order the server kept returning one item at a time to tell us they actually couldn't make the requested changes. It would have been much better to know that before ordering. The pickle appetizer was another disappointment. Based on the description, I expected a pickle-forward appetizer. Instead, it was mostly kimchi, pickled onions, and other pickled vegetables with only five slices of actual pickles. I honestly don't have the words to describe how disappointing that dish was. I was also excited to try the tzatziki green beans, but the crisp pickled green beans tasted more like fermented green sticks than an enjoyable side dish. The baked Brie arrived with what I initially thought was melted cheese inside the croissant, but it turned out to be undercooked raw dough. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had just taken a bite of raw dough. I actually started feeling sick before we even left the restaurant. My younger son ordered the house root beer, which tasted extremely watered down. He also had the pasta with added grilled chicken, but the chicken was dark meat, overly shiny, and completely unappetizing to him. I ordered the non-alcoholic Velvet Slippers mocktail. One sip was enough--I honestly can't find the words to describe how unpleasant it tasted. My friend ordered the steak sandwich and requested the peppers be left off. After ordering, she was told they couldn't accommodate that request, so she had to pick the peppers off herself and still didn't enjoy the sandwich. My older son ordered the lamb sirloin. Even though lamb is often served medium-rare, this was so rare it looked like it was still bleating. We paid our bill before dessert because my stomach was already upset. I ended up making one last stop in the restroom before catching up with my family, who were already halfway down the street, ready to forget Forgotten Tonic. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. Between the uncomfortable seating, blinking lights, inability to accommodate simple modifications, disappointing food, and getting sick before leaving the restaurant, we won't be returning.
