I canceled the other place and changed my uber route to there. I literally had my luggage with me so I was a little embarrassed but I needed this done immediately lol. I came in and it was the cutest decor upon entrance and everyone was friendly. I was greeted by Rose and she was nice. She looked and said " I'll do your stomach", um they don't do that in St. Louis at all. She also knew I shaved and mentioned the reason and what happens when you shave. I've been coming to Brazilian wax by Andrea for years in different locations. I've been going to this specific location for the past year. And typically I have a decent experience. This time I had made an appointment a week in advance and pick the things that the longest on the booking site but I always need one or two more areas that you can't select on the site since you can only select 3. I was about 5 minutes early for my 10:30 appointment. I ended up waiting until 10:50 to be taken for my appointment. People who had come in after me had been taken to their appointment before I had. They kept telling me that those clients had special requests. The appointment itself felt super rushed. The aesthetician came in before I had fully disrobed and then would attempt to do two areas at a time (Brazilian with arms). The entire time also felt like a sales pitch for a vajacial which I'm tired of hearing about. Anyway when we were done, I didn't even have the full time to put my clothes on in privacy. The aesthetician came in and was cleaning the room while I was putting on clothes. She kept saying the next client was here. After that I checked out and added a bit of gratuity since that's common courtesy. I wish I hadn't however because when I got home there were definitely spots missed that I wouldn't be able to see without a mirror. I guess there's no getting around it. However, I was like ready and the beau seemed to like it ‍ yes I wish I was clean. We all wore masks and the process was virtually quick. Got invited on a last minute (ie. next day) trip to Miami so I needed to get a wax after work, and fast. I chose this location because it stayed open later than the ones closest to my house. Even so, I called just to double check that they would be able to take me as a walk-in. The girl on the phone let me know that even though they close at 8pm, they take clients right up until 7:59pm. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked what service I needed. I asked for a French and the receptionist looked at me like I was an alien. Once I said "Brazilian, but leave a patch"- she got me. She warned me that there may be a bit of a wait (which I appreciated!) because the people who were already waiting had appointments and other guests had just gone back. The skating room was very cute and posh with comfy chairs and magazines. All in all, I ended up waiting less than 10 minutes before someone called my name. The woman who took me back ended up being very terse. From start to finish, she only spoke to me three times: Before: "Hi, how are you?" During: "Turn over." After: "I'll meet you out front." I am not sure if that's just her normal self or if maybe there was a language barrier, but as someone who used to get waxed very regularly, I remember the estheticians being a little more friendly. I remember them talking through the process, asking if I was okay, if I needed a break, etc. There was no guidance, just snatches. I've had plenty waxes in my day, and I know it hurts. I KNOW IT HURTS. But this time felt especially rough. Once I got home I noticed that I had quite a few patches where I was bleeding, which I've never experienced before. The icing on the cake was that my landing strip was HORRIBLY CROOKED. Like.. My down there is literally leaning back like Fat Joe. Spreading your legs for a stranger can definitely be a BIT nerve wracking, but it's a little more strange when the person waxes you like you're a cadaver. Way back in the day as a teen, I got my very first wax at Brazilian Wax by Andreia and I enjoyed the experience. My waxer was so kind and warm. I have been coming here for probably 4 or more years at this point. I go to Nivea she is sooo sweet and pleasant. I really enjoy going to see her! She is always really quick and so professional. She is very meticulous about her waxes and I am always pleased when I leave. At this point I can't imagine going to anyone else, ever! I came here maybe a year ago. I was a regular at sweet samba at those times... I felt that my waxer was just trying to get it done fast so that she can get more customers and left a ton of hair... so i stopped going here until today when I was in the area and decided to give this place a second shot. Today, Kayla was so great with me. She took her time to make sure that all the hair is removed (tweezing one by one all the leftovers). She was great, clean, professional and fast. In many waxing places that offer full body, they use some kind of roller (an din many places they use the same roller on everyone! Disgusting but I have seen it. Here it is disposable, so you are sure that the service you get is as clean as it can be. She was very personable and amicable too. I learned that it is possible to pick who you want to get waxed by if you call in advance and ask for that person specifically. I will be asking for her and recommend Kayla to everyone! I've been coming here for a year and a half to get a Brazilian wax. The first time I came was actually my first time getting a Brazilian wax ever. I think the service you get really depends on your wax technician. However, I will say that most of them do a good job. Scheduling online is made very easy and there is parking available. The only thing I do not like is it does seem like some of the rooms could use a thorough cleaning. Basically, I don't think the rooms are as clean as they should be. I always wear socks and try my hardest to not touch any surface other than the tissue paper on the bed. The price is also very convenient for the service you get. If I could give negative 15 stars, I would. Why, you ask? Read on friends . . . So today, I was supposed to hang out with a girlfriend by her pool but she had too much fun last night and didn't feel like it, and at about the same time I realized I wasn't totally "bikini ready." So, I decided that instead of lunch and cocktails, I'd go take care of aesthetics in that area. Woo isn't open on Sun and since Andreia's is about half the price (you'll see why when you read on) I thought I'd give them another shot. Oh. My. God. Never, ever, ever go here. I should've known after it was so painful last time. But this time?! Holy Crikeys, Batman! I was there right when they opened and greeted by Carla. She normally works in their Marietta office, so take note. Quickly helped, and knowing I have sensitive skin and have been shaving, I specifically said: "I want a Brazilian, but please don't take everything off." AKA, I want a landing strip or something "modest-ish" left. This should have been clear. I just thought I was a baby when I SCREAMED at what she did to me. Guys may not appreciate this but it's not like you watch what they're doing as it is going on . . . End result? I cried. I. Am. Bald. And I had a tantrum of sorts in the lobby when I tried to explain what I'd asked for and she tried to say that's what she did?! Sorry, I didn't want to look like a newborn. I even tried to pay - despite all that - and they told me that every other lady in the lobby was a regular, so I should just go. Seriously?????? This is the only place that I've found so far that's not trying to make you go broke from getting a regular "wax job". $35 is their price and it's not changing! In and out! That's been my experience so far and hopefully it will last. This is an in and out experience that I haven't made an appointment for, this is walk-ins I'm talking about. The staff is friendly and the technicians I've tried all seem to be patient (except for one) and know how to relax you. Listen, no matter how many times a women gets a Brazilian Wax, there is going to be some level of pain involved with each visit.
