I'm not going to lie, I got a bit concerned when I saw the reviews on Google and almost wanted to cancel. I'm so glad I didn't. I was really excited because I've never had hard gel done before and honestly... I don't think I can go back to anything else. The staff greeted me and my friend when we walked in and we were seated. They were super accommodating. (I was actually late because I got lost and didn't realize that there was a parking lot behind the salon and they had called me to ask if I was still showing up) I showed Jeli an inspo pic and she helped me with picking a color/base for a French ombre and she got to work. She took off my old gel and shaped and buffed my nails and an hour and a half later I'm honestly so obsessed with my mani. She really took the time to make sure it looked good. Definitely would come back to see Jeli when I come back to visit Atlanta. I think it was pretty expensive though. (Honestly no idea how much since my friend paid for me but I think I heard $155 for the both of us?) She got the bomb Mani with gel and also a gel removal. It's definitely a luxury nail salon. And you do pay for that luxury bit they do an excellent job so I don't mind so much. I'm not a regular manicure girl. I work with my hands so there's not much of a point. I only invest in a manicure when I am traveling or before an event. That being said this has been my go to salon for a few years now and have worked with a few different techs and all have been excellent. They take their time & get it right, are willing to make changes until Your happy. So while being expensive, you are getting every bit of what you pay for. I have complicated hands-3 different nail bed shapes so it's pretty normal to never get it the same for all my nails creating a uniform look, but that's never been an issue here. Another reason why I'm willing to pay for this salon over others that may cost less. I will say, I took a star away because on my last 2 visits, I called ahead to make my appointment and told them what I was planning to do (in detail) so I could have a clear idea of the price. Both times I was told something drastically different than what I ended up paying. This time it was a difference of $65 which was a little shocking honestly. I also requested a specific tech and then did not end up working with her and it was never addressed. It was okay because in this same appointment, I also think I might have gotten the best manicure of my life so I swallowed bit of you are on a tighter budget then you should know that going in. Because it has happens multiple times I do think their pricing isn't very clear to anyone there either. But again nails are a test for me not a necessity and because my hands are difficult I'm not totally bothered by it. If I got regular manicures I'm not sure I could afford to go here regularly but I'll continue to go here every time, and recommend it to everyone. read more

NEVER GO HERE. Was convinced to do Gel X for the first time here and within 20 min of leaving one popped off. I came in to get it fixed and all seemed fine. The next day I get a text from the tech "I reviewed your nail "pop-off" closely. Upon zooming in, I can see where the nail was tampered with after you left the salon. The bubbling on the polish and the dent on the side were not present before your service was completed. Your set was clean and sealed with a top coat, which confirms the work was intact when you left. Moving forward, I will no longer be able to service you personally. However, you are more than welcome to continue your nail services at Gloss Buckhead with another technician. Thank you for your understanding." I cannot believe this. I am being punished and accused? I never "tampered" with my nail. That doesn't even make sense. What would I have to gain from doing that? I am disgusted and disappointed in this service. I told her I would never bash her because of this faulty nail. One off and random things go wrong. But now that she has questioned my integrity and character, I am so upset. And after all that the next day my left index finger nail started coming loose. I tried to secure it back with nail glue I have. I love this nail salon. It's a super cute boutique style salon. Located in Buckhead 5 minutes from 400 and Lenox. It's a converted old home that offers tons of light so the place is filled with natural light and has a clean charming look. The vibes here is out of this world. From the music to the personalities. Usually the nail salon feels like a chore but here I feel like I'm hanging with friends. **And it doesn't smell like acrylic when you come in.** The owner is lovely, she's in the shop with her girls every day, supporting them in every way even doing nails herself. I love to see it! The ladies here are super sweet. I would definitely recommend scheduling an appointment this place is sought after so they can get a little busy. All the ladies do good nails so it really wouldn't matter who you schedule with. They have 3 ladies that's specialize in the more over the top nails. So, you can literally come to get whatever it is you are looking for. They are reasonably priced. The SNS price already include a manicure. They also have a variety of techniques that they offer SNS, Gel X (didn't hear about this until coming here) and acrylics. Compared to most places nearby they are in my top 3 for sure and are for sure the most reasonably priced. The parking is in the back of the building or you can park on the side of the road out front. First off I'm an out of towner. One of my fingernails and toenail chipped prior to getting on the plane. Alicia did an amazing job on both! She fixed my toenail with an overlay and it looks better than my regular toenails lol. Her massage was super relaxing and her attention to detail is outstanding. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and my nails look better than the picture. I'm a simple girl when it comes to my nails, so this was the perfect amount of glam for me. Expectations exceeded!!! Such a relaxing visit. I booked an appointment for noon on a Sunday. I got a gel manicure with the sugar scrub which included a massage up to the elbows. This was my first mani in a year because of covid. I'm so glad I chose this place to go to first! I wasn't sure if I'd get gel or acrylic. I said as much when I booked. A+ ! I'm new to Atlanta and have been shopping for a nail salon. Having been disappointed at other establishments, the great yelp reviews brought me to SwatchBox. The reviews weren't lying, this is a terrific place! The first time I walked in, the receptionist was welcoming, and I noticed that the salon was immaculate. The interior is bright, clean, comfortable, with a boutique style vibe. I think they sell a few little things a well such a flip-flops & scarves, etc. They have a HUGE selection of polishes and gels; the regular OPI as well as Dior, Chanel, and Louboutin. The ambience is very comforting, unlike the stressed out assembly line appearance of a more "traditional" nail salon. There are about 4 stations for manicures and pedicures. Sue Ellen took care of me - she gave me an excellent SNS manicure, which still looked perfect after almost 3 weeks. I wash my hands a million times a day (medical student life!) so that's saying a lot! I only went back because my nails were getting too long for my liking. The shellac pedicure was perfect as well (that's been on for 3 weeks and still going strong!). She's meticulous, takes her time, and doesn't miss a beat. I have since returned to her, and will continue to do so. SNS manicure + Shellac pedicure came to around $80 - very reasonably priced in my opinion! I haven't tried any other services other than the SNS manicure and Shellac pedicure, but am open to doing so in the near future. They don't have as large of an SNS dip selection as a few other salons, but I'm happy with what they have; especially since I always come out perfectly manicured. Had a great night and the standard beauty event hosted at swatch box! Swatch Box is a beauty center designed to pamper with facials, makeup, nails, and more. Located in a carriage house right off of Easy Paces Ferry it's conveniently in Buckhead and parking is easy right on the street outside. I attended on a Thursday evening for a night hosted by Dior beauty to learn more about the stores services as well as meet great makeup artists and aestheticians. 3.5 stars but I rounded up. I came to Gloss for the first time yesterday to get an SNS manicure with a design. I got there a few minutes before my scheduled 1:15 appointment and was greeted warmly when I arrived and told my service would start shortly. It's a smaller nail salon with the pedicure stations in the front and the manicure stations in the back. My manicurist ended up recommending I try Gel X. I typically get SNS but I'd been curious about Gel-X so I gave it a shot. The manicurist was sweet and checked in regularly throughout the manicure to see if I was comfortable or if anything hurt, which it didn't. It seemed like this was second nature for her and I really appreciated it. The process for a Gel-X mani was more streamlined than my SNS manis have been. At the end, I liked how the Gel-X nails looked and felt. I would have given them five stars but I had two issues with my manicure that I didn't notice until after I left the salon. First, I asked for black as one of my colors. The section of the salon they do the manicures in isn't super bright so while I was in the salon getting the manicure the color looked black but as soon as I stepped outside of the salon the color was very clearly a darker blue. I understand the mistake if you're just eyeballing the polishes but they really should have checked the actual label/name of the polish to ensure that it was black. My advice would be to confirm your polish color, especially if it's a darker colored polish and you didn't personally get to pick it out. I also noticed a decent sized and central spot on my middle finger nail where the polish wasn't applied evenly. The manicure was quite expensive so I'd expect more attention to these details so you leave feeling good about the money you spent. Apart from that, I like how the actual design I got looks. I wouldn't be opposed to trying them out again but it will likely be a while before I consider going back. There is a parking lot available in the back. If you're coming down E Shadowlawn the salon is at the end of the street on the corner (with the pink door). You'll make a left turn onto East Paces Ferry and then make the first left to get to their lot. read more

I'm not sure if I would come here again. The place is very cute on the inside and they have a variety of colors. My total for the fancy pedicure with gel polish and SNS with gel top and chrome was $170 without tip which I think is a little higher than normal. During my pedicure, my nail tech forgot to do the sugar scrub, lotion, hot towel etc etc and didn't realize until the very end after my gel polish had already been done. So AFTER my gel polish was done, then she put my feet back in and did the scrub and whatever. No one offered me water or a soda or anything which was pretty disappointing since the other girls were offered things. I have mixed feelings about this place. I don't mind paying for good service but the fact that my nail tech put my feet back in after the gel polish and then did everything and I wasn't offered anything to drink like the other girls was just kinda a turn off. I came in for an SNS manicure, which the website lists as $40. This is false advertising. When checking out - I was charged $50 (without the soak off - with soak off, this would have been $55). The reason being - "oh, we didn't update the website." I have been to high end salons that charge this price, and would be okay paying it if this was one of them. This salon is very small, has food in the back right next to where you're meant to wash your hands, and not what I would classify as a luxurious or clean experience. There was not even an armrest for your forearms on the manicure table - which is quite basic. While the manicure was decent - the price is outrageous, and the woman at the front desk did not seem to care at all. Very disappointing. read more

I've only had my nails done here and they are worth every last star for this review. I've tried all of their combo services for nails except SNS/acrylic and the little princesses services. The Fast ($40) is a to-the-point option for a mani/pedi. No frills, but still includes bath salts and moisturizing lotion. The basics. There are also limitations to which polishes you can choose from, but there's such a wide variety, you can't go wrong! The Fancy ($60) is an upgraded experience, starting with added polish options including Chanel, Dior, NARS, and Tom Ford. Go for this middle-of-the-road option if you want an exfoliant. My personal fave is the Bomb ($80). Take the Fast and the Fancy, add hot towels, Christian Louboutin polish options, and -- the best part -- warm lotion candle massages into your skin and thank me later. Worth the splurge! I can't say full access to all of the polishes makes a huge difference, but the bottles are pretty and they truly give you the option of more colors. From OPI to Christian Louboutin, they're personally all fine with me. I always request Virginia - super experienced and doesn't mind making tweaks at my request - but when she isn't available, I've been happy with my nails. In addition to the usual maintenance mani/pedis, I've trusted Swatch Box with my nails for my babymoon, all 4 of my baby showers, my maternity shoot, and newborn shoot! No regrets and I regularly get tons of compliments from my color choices to the quality of work. I never do gel, simply out of personal preference, and I'm ALWAYS offered water, tea, or some kind of beverage which is much appreciated. This establishment is next to Sweet Peach and is owned by the same individual. If you've ever been there, you know to expect quality, cleanliness (no jets in the bowls + extra sanitized tools), and top-notch service. I love that so much of their skincare products are handmade, as well. At checkout, I've left with a gifted handmade candle, beautiful nails, and sincere concern for my satisfaction. The space is chic (love the red and white color scheme) and gets tons of natural light which is inviting and all the more fitting for relaxation and pampering. They do a very good job keeping up with social distancing while taking as many bookings as possible. I recommend making your appointment a day or more in advance due to Gloss's popularity and their covid precautions making it more difficult to get in spur of the moment. I love this nail boutique in the buckhead area. It's decorated supercute, they provide great service, have an amazing selection of designer polish and they have wine. This was my second time receiving a pedicure at swatchbox and my toes look magnificent. The polish also lasts a long time with no chipping. I love the designer polish that they offer: Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Dior, NARS, and Tom Ford just to name a few. For the quality of service you receive, the prices are very affordable, my fancy pedicure was $38. The fancy pedicure includes an upgraded experience that includes cut and shape of nails, a soak in hand made bath salts, along with their signature exfoliating sugar scrub, application of their handmade moisturizing lotion and a choice of one of their designer polishes. They also have combo packages. Both visits to the nail salon were fantastic; my sister and 6 year old niece thoroughly enjoyed themselves when we went in November. They offer a little princess package for kids and my niece definitely felt like royalty; she received a crown, wand and bath bomb. I waited awhile to redo my review after visiting another time or 2. I wasn't as pleased with the fill-in's that I got. The old acrylic wasn't taken down very far making my nails much thicker in the end. I ended up filing them down on my own over a few days to make them thinner. I then ended up just removing them and going back to someone else to have a full set. I'm sure if I gave it a few more chances all would be well. I've been to Gloss a handful of times and the quality of the work is fantastic. I've gotten gel as well as sns and they have always lasted at least 3 weeks. The sns didnt chip for over a month (couldn't make it to the salon to get it removed, so it grew out). Same with gel: once the polish at the nail bed started to open up after 2 weeks and it was snagging my hair, but otherwise no chips. The last time I got gel, I had no issues after 3 weeks. The staff are super friendly and greet you with smiles. Genae (the owner) is usually there and she does a great job to. The only reason I gave gloss 4 stars is sometimes you have to wait for a while. Not every time, but they get pretty busy. I think they may be under staffed...like everywhere else. I'll change my rating later if they are able to improve this. Otherwise definitely the best salon in buckhead, highly recommend. read more

So...I called in today and spoke to AMANI to book my appointment. Her positive energy comes thru the phone and you can hear the smile on her face. She was, of course, amazing! And even though I had to call right back and move my appointment I'd just made for personal reasons, she was so happy to assist. Then, when I got there, I saw TANYA for a Lash and Brow Tint. Again, her positive energy and flawless accent knock you over the moment you meet her. The brows and lashes are perfect!
