I came in when the store was extremely busy, so I looked around while waiting to be helped. I found the shoes I wanted on the wall, and surprisingly they were my size. I tried them on, and an employee brought the pair tome. When it was time to check out, an older gentleman was helping customers. As soon as it was my turn, a couple of people walked in that he seemed to know, and he completely shifted his attention to them, ignoring me. I waited patiently for a bit but eventually left without purchasing anything. I understand the store was busy and that family or friends may stop by, but customers who are ready to buy shouldn't be ignored. A wonderful place to get fitted properly for sneakers. I have had different sized and different arch height feet on top of foot injuries and I am very particular with shoes especially for running. I was looking for hoka running shoes, since I had a friend that raved about them. The service I received was outstanding & I did purchase a pair of Hoka's that are fabulous. Since quarantine began, I've started walking about an hour a day, which left me with achy joints due to the cheap department store tennis shoes I was wearing. I knew that if I wanted to continue my fitness routine that I would need to invest in some better shoes. After getting overwhelmed trying to do my own research online, I decided to turn to the pros and shop local. And I am SO GLAD I did! The staff here was knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The young man who helped me (I wish I had caught his name) provided excellent service, even going so far as to lace up and tie my shoes for me; and helped me pick out the perfect pair of Brooks Adrenalines for walking. The in-store selection isn't the largest, but it feels very curated, and the staff is very accommodating in offering to order other color variations. I went in to Brazos Running Co. today and had an absolutely fantastic experience. I'm not a big runner, but I wanted a pair of shoes for social running. The staff was extremely attentive and knowledgable. I was helped by Hillary, who first watched me walk in my normal shoes and had me squat and twist a little to see how I put pressure on my feet. She then talked to me about what type of shoe might be best based on how I put my weight down. I tried on some shoes and took them for a short test drive on a treadmill in their store. Then I tried a different one and actually took it out front to run in the parking lot a little. I had multiple staff members check to make sure I was doing ok and give their thoughts on some of the shoes. At no time did I feel that anybody was trying to push the products or make me commit to a sale. For people who are big runners, the store also has a list of lots of marathons / fun runs that are going on around town. If I need anything else, I will definitely be back. read more

They stock the latest of everything and are diligent about their research in what to have on hand. The service I received here today is some of the best I've ever seen. I took up running within the past year or so and decided it was time to invest in some good shoes. Because it's a relatively new hobby I still don't know exactly what to look for. The staff sized me, observed me walking to see my support needs, and brought out a multitude of options for me to try on and compare. I went to Brazos Running after a friend recommended them. I was having a problem with shin splints and my knees are definitely and issue. Chris had me walk away and towards him so he could analyze me. Then he measured my feet and got out 5 or 6 pairs of shoes of 3 different makes. He laced me into them and I jogged around the store. The brand and model I was interested in immediately got rejected because of knee pain. I finally decided on a shoe that really works for me. I have been wearing them for a month and no splints and no knee pain. Don't be disappointed if you don't leave with the shoes of your dreams because you will leave with the shoes that really are perfect for you. You won't get this service from big box places. I like this place! If you wear shoes, this is the place to buy them. they really have it all. They seem to always have a great discount deal on several shoes that you would actually want to wear. The staff are runners, shoe enthusiast, and good solid people. I buy my shoes there because they have what I want, often for a better price than I can find online, and I have searched! but I digress. In my personal experience Brazos Running Co. has a unique finger on the pulse of the running community in the region. The knowledge of the staff is a big resources. I inquired about training programs or local running clubs and they pointed me towards a local group with a discount that I joined and have been very impressed with. I also go there because they offer free workouts and yoga from time to time at their store along with frequent group runs on the weekends. I have twice found flyers for races with discount codes I was able to redeem for $10 off of regular registration. They have the best price on "GU" gels in B/CS too. These folks treat people right and give great deals that are of value. I'm a fan and I will continue to tell people to avoid the chain stores in the mall where some kid who has no vested interest in your sport/shoe/comfort will give you bad advise on ugly, underperforming shoes. I told the salesman exactly what my problem was which was shin splints. He watched me walk and went and got me 4 pairs from the back. He had me try all of them on and asked my opinion of each as he explained the benefits of each shoe. There was no hard sell. I left the store with a pair of hoka one ones. Ok on Thursday I called about a pair of mizuno shoes that I saw on zappos and I wanted them. They are the only store in town that I knew had mizunos tennis shoes. A very comfortable shoe for my big flat feet. They held the shoe for me and my husband picked them up Saturday. Well when I tried them on they were too big. So I went back today around 2 and exchanged them. The customer service was superb. I told the guy(wish I knew his name) about my feet issues and he suggested another brand called Brooks. I LOVED THEM!!! I probably tried 6 pairs on. and he sat their and worked with me and was very polite and patient. Then he told me the best news ever. They were having a sale that if you bought a regular price pair of shoes you could get a clearance pair for $40!!! So I got my hubs a pair also. Although I really wanted my own pair too. But mizunos and Brooks brands are not cheap, but to get a clearance pair that was originally $114 for $40 is awesome! Oh and I got a free pair of socks! Go there to get your new kicks! Plus shopping local is always a benefit! read more
