I'm sorry, but after driving an incredibly long distance, only to wade through throngs upon throngs of people walking between the long line of cars where we were stuck, it just wasn't worth it AT ALL. Between all those people completely blocking the views of the homes, parked cars blocking our views, AND the homes having "decent" decorations but NOTHING making me go "wowwwww" or "ooooooohhhhhh," it will NOT be a neighborhood we will ever return to. Just NOT worth it... and I've never seen so many people walking in a given area... with the exception of 5th Avenue in New York during Christmas time. read more

Little late but boy, this is definitely one of the best light displays in southern california. Would absolutely come back. Good for families to enjoy the holiday spirit and light shows. Be prepared for car and foot traffic. In my opinion, it's better to walk the streets and get a better view of each house. read more

We've been coming to Brea for the Christmas lights for a few years and we've always enjoyed the creativity. From the joy of the neighbors passing out candy canes or singing Christmas carols, you and your kids will enjoy the Christmas Light neighborhood. 5/5 parking. Park and walk. Biggest tip is to stretch out the old legs and walk around the neighborhood. You can drive which most people do but I feel rushed with so many cars, the police do a great job of funneling traffic. There were some in my local neighborhood but decided to take the offer from my family to spend time and see what Brea had to offer. Such a fun and beautiful neighborhood! This is my second year walking through the neighborhood and it was just as fun to see all the decorations. Everyone is pretty nice and also enjoying the holiday spirit. It can get pretty crowded at nighttime. I recommend going earlier in the evening if you want to avoid crowds. Also, bundle up as it can get pretty cold at night! You can park at the Olinda Elementary School area or honestly, any street parking nearby and walk over. The most beautiful neighborhood to visit during Christmas time!! You can also walk around, but since they've been blocking off places to park, it's a lot easier to drive through the neighborhood. Have you ever been here? This is the best Christmas lights neighborhood in Brea the entire neighborhood most of them decorate their house and people either drive through or walk it with hot chocolate it's wonderful. It's beautiful you can see all the beautiful lights and decorations that people took their time to do it. I love this neighborhood. We have come here for so many years and baby girl loves it so much too. I hope you get to check it out if you haven't, I saw my Yelp Friend in Orange County have been here as well. That's awesome. This year they had bands and music and people singing and playing which was amazing. People sit outside with their fire pits watching the cars and people walk by we see kids and laughter. It's a place you can make memories every year for Christmas. They have set ups so you can take pictures. Its really magical here, I hope you get to check it out if you haven't yet. What a great find thanks to Yelp! I never knew this neighborhood was so close given my 8 years in the OC! I'm not certain we got to all the houses, but we definitely saw a good amount of them! We started out in the car but my toddler couldn't see much due to his height so we ended up parking across the street and going at it by foot! Kudos to these people because they really went all out and understood the assignment. From Star Wars themed houses, Dodgers Santas, beachy christmases and traditional lights, this neighborhood had it all-- and for free for gazers! Someone was going around in a golf cart wearing a Grinch outfit and they stopped to take photos with kids, one house even had a whole nativity scene with LIVE GOATS. Was not expecting that, but their whole family was dressed and ready to play the part! All in all, this was a great time for the fam! As others mentioned, there are no public restrooms so just keep that in mind for your kids! read more

We always come here every year to look at Christmas lights, and my girls love it. Parking was rough this year. We normally park at an open lot right across the street from the neighborhood, but there was a security guard that said we can't park there because we aren't an employee.. really?? At 6:45 pm at night? We ended up parking half a mile away.. it wasn't too bad.. Christmas lights are always so wonderful to look at. I love how the whole neighborhood gets involved. Super fun. Some advice, there's no bathrooms, so go before. Also, make sure to wear some good walking shoes and possibly snacks if you have kids. We'll be back, but I hope that lot is open next time.. read more

This never gets old. Drove around during the week with hardly any crowds. Beautiful as always.

Prepare to be blown away... This has to be one of the best Christmas things you can do in Orange County. Sure there's a line to drive in and finding parking can be a little challenging, but where else can you see about half the houses in a neighborhood all lit up? There have to be at least 50 houses elaborately decorated. It feels like 100 but it's probably 50. And all of this is free! If you have people in your group that can do long walks, then the drive through is the way to go, but if you are able to walk it, I say, "Walk it!" There is no parking in the neighborhood. Of course you can tune your radio to the provided local radio station number to hear Christmas tunes in your car, but you can also walk around with Spotify on and do the same nowadays. Everything is very orderly here. Cars all move in one direction. people walk on the curbs and not the streets. Nobody is stopping, jumping out of their car to pictures or trying to make three point turns and holding up traffic. Almost every imaginable holiday theme is here... Old school, Star Wars, Disney, Minions, Biblical, Elf on the Shelf, etc. Houses with big lights, houses with small lights, and a few with no lights. Lights on the roof. Crystal balls on hanging from the roof. Projections. Lights that flicker in sync with music. Carolers walking the streets. Places where you can drop off letters to Santa. Houses that have built-in a photo op spot. Dioramas. Hanging mistletoe so that you can get your Christmas groove on. The only thing missing this year were Hanukkah related decorations, but hopefully that's only temporary due to the charged global climate this year. There are families with kids, people on dates, people walking with their grandparents, and some cute puppies. It is a mix of everyone here. If you will be walking with food or drinks, please bring a bag so that you can pack and carry your trash as there are not many trash cans. I really love the vibe here. If I had people visiting from out of town, I would want to bring them here. I do wonder about the residents in the neighborhood because they are boxed in every night. If someone says at night, "Honey, we ran out. Can you head to the market and pick up some eggs?" Instant death. Hahaha Merry Christmas Everyone! read more

First time ever to visit this location and obviously I took the kids. Let's say that there was a lot of traffic sooo I decided to park at one of the local businesses across from the street. One thing I definitely loved was that there were police patrols directing the traffic and keeping everyone safe. Special thanks to the Brea police department. Now the neighborhood was filled with lots of beautiful lights and alot of foot traffic but everyone was enjoying the walk. All the houses were literally lit up. There was even a band of young kids playing at the little park as well as a photo booth(completely free of charge to take a one) I took plenty of photos of the houses but my favorite one was the one with the 49ers Santa Claus out on the front yard. Ohhhh and one that had lights with a very beautiful message. I do recommend to visit maybe the following year, I know for sure I will. Enjoy the photos!!! read more

We went early this year (I forgot to check in yesterday) But there was still a handful of cars not packed but enough to have to wait on a few cars at times. Somehow I got lost and was driving in circles...I guess this is what happens when you do NOT follow the signs but take detours on your own "Shame for the inpatient" lol. However the boys want to go back ...again before the displays goes back into storage . I say get there at 6:00-6:30 and go this week /weekend or all next week. read more
