Thankfully, when I visited Energetic Smile Dental in Brea, CA USA, Dr. Chung and his team treated me with such care and professionalism that I was finally able to relax and recover comfortably. The color of the crown was not quite there and even though I couldn't see it in the dental office, he pointed it out. We decided to keep the crown on temporarily so that I could whiten my teeth a bit so that my teeth color would be closer to the crown color. Anyways I am super pleased with how it looks now and he was able to fill out some gaps on the front teeth with some bonding. I am finally able to smile and not see my old discolored crown and gap in the gum line.

They don't use those nasty impression trays that ooze all in your mouth and make you GAG. I don't recall what it called but it's like a pen they put around your teeth and it takes a digital picture of your teeth. Dr. Bae will tell you what procedures you need now and what can wait. There is absolutely no pressure. Dr Bae and his staff are all about making you feel comfortable. I highly recommend Angelica for your teeth cleaning appointments. I also have to mention that if you need a crown...you can have it the same day. How awesome is that? No temporary crown and waiting weeks for it to come in. That's so yesterday! Dr. Bae also has their own dental plan. It is a so worth it. As we all know most Dental insurance is not so great. I also have to mention how great Dr. Bae's office staff is. Jessica was very friendly and thorough in explaining all the details. The office may be a little tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area. There's a door leading upstairs (elevator and stairs are available) through the "alleyway" between Baskin Robbins and World Market. Upon arrival, Jessica greeted me promptly and got me checked in. Sky helped get started with my x-rays and teeth cleaning before Dr. Yang came to do additional cleaning. Everyone was professional, friendly, and personable,which made for a comfortable experience. At the end of the cleaning, I was given a little goodie bag with a toothbrush, floss, travel-sized toothpaste and a pen. A nice little touch. I have been seeing dr Chen for over 20 years and was very satisfied with the care I received from…read morehim. He was treating me with an Invisalign plan and paused the plan when I was feeling some gum discomfort he advised me to hold off on final adjustments and investigate that tooth and we will continue Invisalign treatment afterwards.That was last may 2025. I ended up with a tooth extraction and tooth implant and he advised me to continue wearing my last tray as a retainer and he would continue Invisalign treatment after I completed the healing process. Fast forward to February 2026 as I go for my routine cleaning I am informed that he has retired in November 2025. I'm totally shocked that his patients were not informed and that dr. Kwok has taken over the practice. This is what this is review is mostly about. When she came in to check my mouth after my routine cleaning there was no introduction of who she was and I had no idea that she was the new dentist. She quickly looked at me and left the room. That was my first encounter in February. I asked about my Invisalign treatment continuation and was informed she would have to speak with Dr Chen about it. Mind you I have paid in full for this. I continued my implant process and was ready for the crown placement in April and was informed that she's going on maternity leave. I decided to find a new dentist recommended by the implant specialist. After completing that work, I scheduled an appointment with dr kwok to complete the Invisalign treatment as promised. Once in the office again she was very cold and once she found out why I was there walked out of the room and had the office manager talk to me. Once agreed that she would provide the retainer my experience with her is very cold, no consideration for patients who were previously dr Chen's patients. When she was removing my Invisalign buttons she was very impersonal as I didn't even know she was the dentist. It's very sad bc I may have considered continuing with this office but if this is how I was treated I am done. I took my retainers and left the office. Sorry for the long review but I had to get this off my chest.

My teeth are really healthy so I don't see the main dentist often but the couple of interactions I've had with her have been very kind. But my absolute most favorite person to talk to and get my cleanings done with is Huang. She's so down to earth and easy to talk to. She's careful and wont wet you and poke you on accident. She explains everything she does. And the whole cleaning experience feels like a spa! They even give you a hot towel to clean your chin/mouth area up when you're done. There's snacks in there and drinks. Everything is clean and the outside area is adorable. I don't have trouble parking and I don't have to wait. Just walk in and they are ready for my appointment! I saw a video online recently that said it's actually very difficult to find good dentists to do cleanings because many are shady and will only have their dental assistants polish your teeth. I do not have that experience here. The technology is modern and advanced, even some of my old dental places didn't have what they have here. Note: I am a cash paying customer. I do not go through insurance. It's a little expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for. The experience is much much much better here. And for anyone worried about dealing with people who have accents from their home country, that's also not the case here. They speak fluent English with no accent. Which I know is a weird comment but I think some people care about that. So don't worry about it. It's also super cool that the dentist and hygienist are sisters lol.
