I had them remove a tooth a couple of months ago and I had no problems, so I scheduled a cleaning. One day before the cleaning I get a phone call telling me that they have no information on me even though they used my insurance to pull my tooth a couple months ago. I was told that they need x-rays and a consultation before they can clean my teeth. I would have to make a new appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I told them no I made an appointment to clean my teeth that day and x-rays are fine but the man in the phone was rude with me so I canceled. I would not recommend them. read more

What kind of dentist office tells you they don't have time for cleaning today when that was the whole point of your appointment. It was so unorganized this place, I should have left earlier. I would definitely not recommend going to this dentist. I had an appointment at 2pm and they did not check until 30 minutes later. Once they did their initial checkup, they dismissed me because the lady was not "comfortable" in doing regular cleaning at patient's request. I had an emergency issues with my tooth. I got my appointment within 1 hour of my call. The check in process was fast and to the point. The Dr. saw me right after. He ran a complete x-ray set of tests including video of my mouth. The Dr used the x-ray pictures and the video to explain to me my situation. I truly cannot say enough bad things about this place. From the jump, it felt messy and unprofessional. The front desk was openly discussing their hangovers before even acknowledging me, which honestly set the tone. When I later called back to verify why I supposedly needed antibiotics, the same guy had absolutely no idea what I was talking about -- like the conversation never happened. Memory? Gone. Poof. Then comes the diagnosis whiplash. I was told I needed antibiotics, a root canal and a deep cleaning. Spoiler alert: I needed none of that. Another dentist confirmed I literally just needed a crown and even complimented how clean my teeth were. So... which is it? It became very clear this office either doesn't know what they're doing or is aggressively trying to upsell unnecessary work. Either way, not a vibe when it comes to healthcare, especially dental work. If you enjoy chaotic paperwork, contradictory diagnoses, and feeling like an ATM with teeth, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, I'd strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more

I hate having to leave a bad review, but I'm just tired of the runaround. Last year I got dental insurance through my job and was actually excited to finally get some work done, but Gold Coast made the whole process a nightmare. The patient care was fine at first, but everything changed once we talked money. They quoted me an insane amount of money--almost $300 a visit--for a bunch of procedures before I could even get braces. Then, they pushed me to apply for a credit card to finance it. They specifically told me it wouldn't hit my credit score, but that was a lie. I got hit with two hard inquiries that tanked my credit, and after all that, the application was denied anyway. I've been furious and have tried calling and emailing them multiple times to get this sorted out, but they completely ignore me. To make it worse, they are now refusing to release my X-rays so I can just go to a different dentist. It feels like they care way more about pushing high-interest credit cards than actually helping patients. Save yourself the headache and the hit to your credit score--go somewhere else. read more

On Sunday,10/29/2023, I answered approximately 4 to 5 questions to see if I would qualify for Senior low cost dental implants as mentioned in a Information internet article. I gave my age, 75, my Annual income source, how many missing teeth and my mobile phone number. I received a call within 15 minutes from a service that was not a dental office but was given appointment times from participating local dental offices who were offering free xrays, examinations and counseling at no cost with dental implants financing starting as low as $67/ month. He indicated that they also accepted most insurance dental plans. He made an appoint for 1pm on 10/30/2023 at Gold Coast Dental Brea. He gave me the address and phone number. On that day, I was running late and couldn't find the number he gave so I called the number he called me from so I could change the appointment to 2pm. Well that number was turned out to be Gold Coast Dental and I told them directly I would be there at 2pm not 1pm. This is a horror story that today on the 18th of August 2025 is still unresolved. So I will do my best to give you information so other seniors are not victims to unethical,dishonest and misleading dental offices that are out there today. First, internet information that appears to be helpful to the elderly can be harmful and when multiple services and programs are mentioned that seniors might not be aware of are listed then be aware. When I called the number of the volunteer I spoke to on Sunday to get the number he gave me so I could tell them I was running late and the person who answers the phone is another Gold Coast office ...BE AWARE. Unfortunately, today the elderly are targeted by misleading information that appears to be the truth. It's not a newspaper we are reading it's the internet. I will continue by giving you things to be aware of because I am not done with this situation. I will do something about this so they are exposed to authorities and stop doing this to others. One of Albert Einstein's famous quotes was "The world is a dangerous place not because of the evil people but instead because of the people that do nothing about it". It's just harder today and it takes time but we can do it. But blocking or avoiding is not stopping. So more needs to be done. I will keep you posted. I have read reviews from victims that the same things happened to them 4years ago that have happened to me over the last 2 years. So it needs to be stopped to be of service to others. I went to this dental office for an exam to see if the could put posts in to hold my dentures. Since then I am not seeing an oral surgeon under medical and not dental due to the defect of my gums. I called to get a copy of my ct scan and they want to charge me $350 which is outrageous. I told them the circumstances I wasn't taking it to another dental office that it's going through medical and they took a while $50 off. I was going to return to get my dentures but not now. Besides this issue when I was there to get my exam they took me back to get a ct done and it looked like it was in a closer it was so messy dirty not somewhere you want to going. I'd especially like to shout out Jessica who does the cleanings who is not only very thorough and gentle but also one of the best customer service professionals I've ever dealt with. Terrible in so many ways. Mainly they took my money without providing me the service. They just lost four patients.

Medical Staff is great, but payment managers are shady. I went in for a check up and cleaning at the Brea and Buena Park location. Although the staff is fairly friendly, their payment practices are not. When you sign the bill "acknowledging" the payment, they tell you that everything will be covered by insurance. This was not the case. My insurance did not cover certain procedures and I was charged a lump sum. They did not let me know until 30 days after my visit. This is shady practice because if I did not pay this off ASAP, it could have showed up on my record as a delinquent charge AND they verbally confirmed that insurance would pay for everything and the only thing I would have to pay is for fluoride (which I paid upfront before I left the office). Over the phone the payment manager claimed she can lower my payment cost by 60%, but when I went in person, she said the best she could do is lower it by 35%. I want to give this place more stars since the medical staff is nice, but the payment managers are just shady. Keep this in mind as you go visit. SCAM!!!!! I'm 53 years old and see a dentist every 6 months!! Had to switch dentist due to insurance. This dentist who only looked at my teeth FOR A HAIR OF A SECOND and said I need to see their ortho for teeth grinding.. Weird... I DON'T GRIND MY TEETH!!! Today I got a text I need to schedule pending treatment. Curious what I had "pending " because I literally got up and walked out!!!! Soooooo apparently I have a "pending" crown!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!??? HOW!!!!??? NO ONE EXAMINED ME!!!!! DON'T GO THERE, GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! I even filed a grievance against them with my insurance! In that time, I have had regular cleanings, root canals and extractions. Most recently, and after a year of consultation and consideration, I decided to undertake orthodontic work with Gold Coast. I made this decision based on these factors: 1. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, caring and patient. 2. The practice's patient management system is modern, making my patient journey seamless. 3. Its network of offices makes it easy to get different types of care under one "roof" which is highly convenient. 4. It's flexibility when it comes to costs and willingness to work with my budget constraints. 5. My satisfaction with its quality of care. Beware My son was in an e-bike accident. Our normal dentist had retired so I was scrambling for a dentist because he felt like his teeth were cracked. We started in the Artesia office where he was diagnosed with one tooth that needed to be extracted, three crowns and removal of four wisdom teeth. My son at 15 didn't even have a cavity so this was a lot to take in two days after spending the night at an emergency room. We were referred to their oral surgeon out of the Brea office. He was professional and took caution. He had a scan completed to confirm damage to the one tooth agreed with me that the wisdom teeth did not need to be removed. He proceeded with the transaction. Before leaving, I was charged over $900. I paid it because my son was in pain. Even scheduled the appointment for the three crowns. That night I started questioning the charges knowing we have great insurance and started asking for an invoice the next day. I had to ask two times in email and finally received after a call to the office. After reviewing the codes used against my insurance I quickly found out I had been scammed and contacted Cigna who referred me to get a second opinion and started the dispute process. The second opinion showed Gold Coast are scammers. My son did not need three crowns. He had some loose teeth and was told to give it time for his jaw to heal. Two months later he's healed. Don't trust these people, get the dental codes before treatment to see what your insurance covers. Get a second opinion. These people will drain your pockets and not think twice about it. read more

I have been coming here for years. Today is my last visit. The young lady that started cleaning my teeth was not the dental hygienist and she cut into my gums throughout my entire mouth. She thought I was 'sensitive' and I told her I don't have sensitive teeth but that she was pinching into my gums. I didn't see how bad it was till I pulled out my phone to check my gums which I never had to do before. The young lady also would use the suction tool for the saliva build-up and leave the cleaning tool in my mouth at the same time; she must not know that the tool is poking my tongue/ inside of my mouth. The actual hygienist came in and finished up and I'm surprised she didn't say anything about how cut-up my gums were. The young lady didn't even let me know that she wasn't the hygienist till she was already working on me. read more

I understand it a business but people who come you have every right to know the right information when it comes to billing,treatment plan, and 2nd opinions. Do not go to this place! I am seriously traumatized from this place. I do not usually put out negative reviews but this has to be the worst dentists I've been at in my life! I had to do a wisdom teeth removal and they first did not give me any instructions. I asked them over the phone a week before and they said they don't have any instructions. Then I had to call them a day before the procedure to make sure my procedure is still being performed. When I got to the appointment they did more scans and added more costs to be without properly explaining the costs to me from what the insurance provided. Then 2 months after the procedure I had a bad infection and the oral surgeon wasn't even available! I had to go to an outside source to drain the infection. They even told me this place I went to didn't even have a true oral surgeon. The oral surgeon that I went to also stated oral surgeons that "travel" are always not good. Honestly, I felt so scammed! They do not care about your health at all and the front desk does not lay out the insurance costs either. It was truly the worst experience I've had in my life. read more

I first visited this dental office on New Year's Day in 2022 due to a dental emergency. Living in Santa Ana, I had to drive to Brea because it was the only place open on a holiday. Since then, I've continued to go back! Not only did they handle my urgent dental needs, but they also took care of other dental issues I had been putting off due to difficulties scheduling appointments elsewhere. Dr. Richard Furuichi is truly exceptional at what he does! All of my dental procedures have been not only painless but also quick and exceptionally well done. I've struggled with dental problems throughout my life and finding a good dentist was always a challenge. I'm so glad I found this place because I can confidently say I've found my dentist! The staff is also incredibly kind, resourceful, and helpful. I have absolutely no complaints. They deserve more than 5 stars, but unfortunately, I can only give them 5! I highly recommend this place! I was sent from Gold Coast Yorba Linda to the brea location because my child needed laughing gas which isn't offered at Yorba Linda. All the billing was squared away with insurance through the Yorba Linda office which would be 70.00 copay. Brea said I owe 700.00 lol and then said they made a mistake and it's 372.00. Wow!!!!
