Update on the establishment's lying practices. The menu that they use in store in which you order from doesn't reflect the actual prices that you pay at checkout. I have been overcharged numerous times without realising, until yesterday.. Look at the breakdown and explain to me how their calculations make any sense.. I placed an order for the same item I usually eat; make your own sambousak x 2. On the menu, it is listed as $7.99/each with three toppings included and any additional toppings as 0.49 each with the exception of wild mushroom mix for 0.65. I ordered the three included toppings as mentioned and one additional topping - wild mushrooms listed as 0.65. In total, I was supposed to pay $7.99 * 2 = $15.98 + (0.65*2 = $1.30) = $17.28. Note that Pita bread for 0.99 is added to the receipt and isn't part of these calculations. At checkout, the cost was $20.97 before tax. I don't understand how they came up with this number. I've been repeatedly paying this amount on every visit for months.. When addressing this issue with the owner, first he said the menu isn't updated, then he made his own calculations without showing me and claimed to have mistakenly overcharged me by a dollar.. but still going back and recalculating, the numbers don't add up! This is our go to place to purchase pitas. The pitas are always reliably fresh and hot as this is a bakery factory that makes pitas that are distributed to several store and restaurants. They have a retail store front which also bakes and sells various baked goods like breads, cakes, pastries, and manousheh as well as coffee, however we have never tried any of these yet, just going straight for the pitas to take home. There service is always friendly but can sometimes be slow if there are is more than one person that is being served. Overall, this is the place to pick up freshly made pitas which we have numerous times. At some point, we will probably try their other fresh baked offerings. read more

Ordered from here twice now via Uber Eats and the food is delicious. The hubby and I have tried both kinds of fatayer (spinach and egg/cheese), the sumac chicken, the Greek chicken, zaatar flatbread, grilled halloomi wrap and their house made pita bread - all were excellent. The savoury fillings are super flavourful and their pastry is tender and light. Looking forward to visiting in person someday soon. read more

This has been an occasionally drop off place for whenever I need breakfast items or I want dessert, etc. This location is very nicely decorated. There are many things available, from olive oil, to frozen kunafa, to a cookbook, to packaged Arabic desserts and much more. There is also a wide variety of items offered and different bread types. Price is a bit expensive for the quality received. Overall, I found their petit fours to be just okay. I do love their croissants, but unfortunately a lot of times when I visit there is not much to choose from as everything seems to have been sold out or maybe wasn't made for the day. Even for the ice cream, there isn't any available whenever I want some. Love that they are pretty authentic and offers both fresh-to-order menu items. Great addition to the area! Bread+Salt is located just next door to the popular Palma Pasta. Soo many new places have been opening up nearby lately, add this Syrian bakery/café to the list! This place also happens to be on my way to the office, so I'll hafta exercise some self-control! :) Interior is actually very nice, newly renovated, clean, and complete WITH seating, a pizza oven, a self-serve coffee area, etc. Everything looks like it's been well-thought out. What's here? Baked in-house artisan pita bread and various other breads, coffee, baked goods/pastries (~$3ea), ice cream logs, manakish (M.E. pizzas), etc. They also carry Sloane tea and Barocco coffee, plus other European import products. When I visited, there were samples of all - if not most - of their sweets, so you can judge for yourself. I'll definitely be back to try their pizzas + ice cream! read more

I stumbled across their website online one day and decided to give it a try. We didn't order much as we just had lunch. We ordered a Za'atar Manousheh, which is like a flat bread with a very crunchy texture, topped with mixed spices ( thyme, sumac and sesame). Very different than what I usually have on flat bread and we liked it. Then we ordered their ashta ice cream. One plain with crush pistachio, and a pistachio ice cream with crush pistachio (yes I love pistachio) , they have many free toppings as well, so we topped one with pistachio butter ( did I tell you I love pistachio?) and the other with crispy chocolate balls. Excellent food experience, If you are looking for a true Syrian pie experience, this is the place you go to. I have tried most of the types of its pies and it is delicious: The dough is perfectly cooked, not too stiff, and not saggy. The filling is balanced: Cheese with parsley, shamieh is my favorite Chicken with Sumac is well stuffed and top notch Spinach with sumac, onion and pomegranate is also excellent option for vegetarians Zaater can be less exciting for others, but this is a true breakfast for middle eastern people. Meat should have less spices, although others might disagree. Additionally, the place has my favorite Syrian sweets, hands down, best in the world, as I used to describe them: little drops of heaven, Mohanna's bakery. I can safely say I made the best decision. I ordered Pistachios Croissant, Raspberry Croissant, Akawi cheese Manaeesh, 4 cheese Manaeesh, Olives Paste with Mozzarella Manaeesh and Nutella Manaeesh! I ordered the double baked almond croissant and chocolate croissant and I wish I ordered more. The pastry chef made us try his new brioche dessert and I would order a dozen in a heart beat. The place is big and have a dining area. They also serve some sort of pizza, which is freshly made as you order. They serve coffee but didn't get to try it. Stumbled across Bread and Salt when out for a walk. If you were to drive by you would totally miss it. I'm super happy we decided to go in a check them out. Decor inside was beautiful, they did tons of renovations compared the previous grocery store that was here before. Here you can get fresh baked bread (baked daily I was told), some small desserts (cakes, cookies, Syrian iceream i believe), brewed coffees (no espresso machine), and teas . Hot foods right now they seem to only have Middle Eastern Pizzas and Italian Pizzas (giving Palma Pasta some competition). But they said that they were going to expand their hot food menu items very soon. I only tried their breads so far and they are delicious! Pricing is VERY fair for the freshly baked loaves of bread. A baguette was $2.49, and a loaf of their seasonal foccacia (covered in nuts and olives) was $4.99. Significantly cheaper than a lot of bakeries I've been to downtown.
