The service in this location was friendly and prompt. I visited the store late afternoon and most of the full cakes were gone. The staff was kind enough to call the other location to check the availability of a particular cake for me. Unfortunately, it was sold out at Queen St W location as well. At the end, I bought the individual serving cakes. The staff kept the pastries for me while I still had errand to run (it was a warm day with 15 degree) and didn't want my cakes melt. She also gave me a reminder call 15 minutes before the store closed. As good as it gets!!! If you LOVE macarons, desserts, pastries, this place is a MUST TRY!! **Rated best macaron place to go in Toronto 2015! Heard of the name multiple of times but never made the effort to go try it out. On a random day, as I was strolling along Yonge street, I passed by and saw this little dessert bakery that looked quite fancy. Decided to walk in to take a peek, then realizing that it was Nadege, the name sounded quite familiar but didn't ring a bell as to it was on my " to-try" list. They had different kinds of tarts, mini cakes, little pastries all displayed under one glass display, then moving on, it's all types of macrons and then small pieces of chocolate, truffles next to it. I was more interested in the pasteries, so I got their signature tart (Marie Antoniette) it looks like a tart with 3 mini macrons on top and I got a green pastry which they named it "the Grinch" that looks like a huge macron with a cute happy holiday design printed on the top and bottom. The 2 lovely ladies that worked there was super nice and friendly! As I was walking out with my 2 pastries, one of them asked if I have ever tried Nadege macarons and offered me one to try. They gave me their signature macaron, salted caramel, which sold me instantly. So I decided to purchase a box of 16, they had a total of 12 different flavors, which I got one each and 4 duplicates. There were different designs of boxes which you can choose from, all very beautiful! The Marie Antoniette was amazing, it wasn't sweet at all, the tart was a soft buttery almond tart filled with rich vanilla panna cotta and topped with buttercream filled macarons. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS IF YOU'RE AT NADEGE!! They call this signature for a reason! The Grinch was really good too! The flavors weren't as rich and distinct as the signature but also a MUST TRY! Wasn't sweet being a macaron, it has fresh raspberries all around the center and a raspberry compote and filled with pistachio ganache. The macarons was also amazingly out of this world!! The crunchiness of the outer shell of the macaron blended very well with the filling inside, it wasn't sweet at all, nearly can taste it being sweet but rather rich in flavor! Totally on point! It doesn't stick to your teeth like other cheaper macarons! (If you had these, you would know what good macarons taste like flavor wise and texture) It took 4 days to finish the whole box and by the 4th day, it was still as good as the first!! Price is of course a bit on the pricy side $2.65 for a macaron and tarts/pasteries are $7 - $9 each. But you pay for what you get! Though this location is way smaller than their Queen Street location, I prefer the Summerhill location more. No seating at all so it is more like and in and out experience and going oh and ah on those lovely maracons! There are also some pastries: cakes and tarts and of course chocolate! My Matcha and Pistachio maracons definitely as good as I remembered great texture and flavour and not overly sweet. I love the deco and vibe. The brick wall give the shop a warm and rustic feel. I've been to Nadége at Yorkdale one other time prior to my most recent visit to their Yonge St. location. I had a great experience, so this year, I had decided to get a lemon tart from Nadége for my mom's birthday that was a few weeks ago. Based on this experience, they did not meet my expectations what so ever. 1. The writing on the chocolate (pictured below) was unprofessionally done and off centre. I am an avid baker, and can do a better job that what was given to me. 2. The lemon tart was not worth the $28 paid. The meringue still had refined sugar in it and was not combined properly. Each bite I had, you were able to not only feel but hear the graininess of the sugar in the meringue. I am completely disappointed with their quality, considering my past experience. read more

This is probably due to the fact that most of their cakes and pastries are now mass produced in a factory and not made in the bakery anymore. French pastries should be delicate and Nadege used to be so good at the details and perfecting the taste of the product. We ordered canneles and a brulee cake. The canneles were soft and looked like an amateur baked them, while the brulee cake was just sweet and had no flavour at all. Nadege is one of my top choices for patisseries in Toronto. However, I don't really like this location compared to the other ones. The other locations never disappoint. I am not sure if it is because this location isn't as busy as other locations in Toronto so they do not replenish their cakes as often. But the cake I got did not taste good at all. It tasted stale. I visited during the weekend and it was fairly empty inside the bakery. I bought a cake and I ate the cake that evening and it was awful. It tasted like it was left out for days. The writing on the full-sized cake was also horrible...I should have just done it myself. VIBE Stark white interiors are deceiving to the pop of colour emanating from the glass cases waiting to get into your mouth. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. Note: there's no cafe at the Rosedale location but plenty of seating and a patio at the Queen location. I'm a big fan of organized merchandise and Nadege really does it right. If you are OCD, you're going to love this place! Don't get me started on the packaging, especially from the A-Z marked chocolates. SO cute! THE GOODS I was lucky to get a tour from their PR (again, I always disclose). I loved their cakes so much I brought the "La Mancha" cake for my parents to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary (do I get a daughter of the year award)? For your salivating pleasure, it had: saffron creme brulee, honey mousse, blackberry coulis and shortbread biscuit. Bestill my heart. Truffles make the PERFECT gift. If you love her, buy Nadege's truffles. Macarons are top notch: cotton candy will melt in your mouth but I'm a fan of anything salted caramel. There's many to taste test! That said, the CREME de la CREME was the salted caramel tarte. I don't know how Nadege (Summerhill location) is getting high reviews. Their original location near Trinity Bellwoods fares a bit better, but I don't think I'll be visiting their shops in the future. This location is a boutique shop, similar to patisseries in Paris. It is a modern dimly lit space with nice looking sweet treats and some savouries displayed in glass shelves. But that's all it is... 'nice looking'. I bought 6 macarons for macaron day (50% sales are donated to charity), but they were incredibly Inconsistent... size - so odd to see some the size of a toonie and some larger (doesn't look good when it's packed together) texture - some are too chewy, some are to brittle... I had to ask for ones with a nice shell because I notice a few were cracked/broken. flavour - they had interesting flavours (ie. olive oil), but it tasted just ok Also bought a small box of chocolates for my sister. I got very interesting flavours (roquefort, goat cheese, chili and a classic dark). They look nice, hope they taste good too. I was interested in getting a mini cake... but at $9 for approx. 1"wide x4"long - I'll pass. Service is... umm... nice... but Fake nice (and very obvious). This is absolutely one of my favourite places to buy desserts from! It is on the pricier side but I think it's completely worth it. I was able to try a lot of the macarons when they had a pop up store in STC and my friend worked there. The flavours of the macaron were rich and delicious and they too were $$$. I enjoyed the salted caramel, passion fruit, and pistachio flavor. They are packaged in gorgeous boxes as well and would be perfect gifts to teachers, bosses etc. However, I chose to write this review because of the cakes, specifically Pur Noir! I have ordered this cake about 4 times within the past 2 years and will find any excuse to buy it for any occasion. It's creamy chocolate mousse is extremely decadent that a little slice is more than enough and fills you up too. The chocolate is perfect, it's not too sweet or too bitter and its light and almost fluffy-like. Nadege Patisserie - Pur Noir cake - Bakeries Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

This review is based on their truffles, and mini-canelé. I expect that it's difficult to achieve a well-balanced filled chocolate involving fruit, mainly because few places do it well. Nadege is one of the places that manages to succeed. The raspberry chocolate was good; neither too sour nor too sweet. It wasn't awesome, but there was certainly nothing wrong it it. The lemon chocolate was better; the lemon flavor was a little more vibrant than the raspberry, but still very well balanced with the milk chocolate. Normally, I think passion-fruit chocolates are kitchy and gimmicky (actually, I think this about most things involving passion fruit), but I was in for quite the surprise. This was actually the best of the three fruit chocolates. The passion-fruit flavor seemed very natural and fresh, and again was in perfect harmony with the chocolate. The earl grey chocolate was disappointing compared to the others. It was strange and confusing to my palate. I wish I could say more, but I only had one of them and I couldn't figure it out. Basically, it was not unpleasant, but nor was it what I was expecting (i.e. earl grey). After the earl grey chocolate, I was prepared to give them four stars, then I tried the pistachio chocolate--easily the best pistachio chocolate I've ever had. Not only was the flavor great, the filling was smooth and creamy with a hint of grainy texture. Overall, the chocolates were well-made. They had nice colorful patterns on the top. The shells were firm but not crisp, and neither too thin nor too thick. Filling textures were mostly good, in the case of the aforementioned pistachio, amazing. I do wish they had a greater variety with some more ambitious flavors... but I'm not complaining. I won't dwell on the canelé too much, because it's the only one I've ever had so I don't know what it's supposed to be like! Suffice it to say, the edges and bottom were nicely caramelized, the exterior had a pleasant chewy-ness to it, while the interior was softer. DISGUSTING, TRULY A WASTE OF MONEY (THIS POST IS ABOUT NADEGE YORKDALE ) ... they don't seem to have a page and i figured that people need to see this before they decide on spending their money here. I have been going to Nadege for over 8 years, it was one of my favourite patisserie's in Toronto. Most recently, I have gone to the Yorkdale location out of sheer convenience, for the last 3 times. The only reason that I am giving this location 1-star is because Yelp does not allow for zero stars. 1/3 Visits - the location was absolutely gross, the floor had not been cleaned for weeks, the counters and tabletops were all sticky and the teacups smelled of that gross smell of eggs. 2/3 - I went back this time because I had thought maybe they were having an off-day last time and maybe they had gotten it together. This time, they were worse than the last. So i got my flourless chocolate cake and my kusmi tea to go. I sat outside in the little hall, opened up my goodies to satisfy my Nadege craving, and one bite in I was truly shocked. THE ENTIRE THING WAS FILLED WITH HARD, GRAINY, DISGUSTING EGGSHELLS. It was not just one accidental flake of egg shell, it was multiple large flakes. I was just stunned. 3/3 - After the last time when they apologized for the eggshell in my pastry, I decided to give them one more shot yesterday. This was and forever will be my very last visit to Nadege, the pastry shop I once knew no longer exists and after this experience I will not be wasting my money on this business. I was the one and only customer in there yesterday at 1:40 PM. I actually wanted to go to Laduree, but for the sake of supporting a Canadian business, I thought maybe I would try one more time. My mistake. As the first customer in there I was ignored by the two people working on the floor (1 Barista and 1 woman who really should not have a job anywhere, let alone at a fast-paced cafe). I tried to order 3 times and they were just walking back and forth and going about their business. Then another woman walked in and went ahead of me and demanded their attention, and went about their business. Then I asked them what was going on and they said "We are doing the best that we can"..... the best is not serving the first customer in there? After then stepping back and deeming it not worth a full on argument I was in line for an extra 20 minutes behind this lady because the person serving was literally incapable. Incapable of a job, of work, or walking straight everyday. I complained one more time to which she snapped at me again saying: "We are doing our best, we are short-staffed today" ... this set me over the top. Nadege is a cafe, in a cafe there are many customers coming in and out at a time. If the server is only capable of taking care of one customer at a time and spending 45 minutes at a time getting her ONE CAKE WRAPPED. If that is your BEST then you really should be sitting at home and not wasting peoples time and money, watching netflix and eating popcorn, girl. Thankfully Laduree has opened down the hall so that people can go get a real cafe experience, once they have been let down by this one. This business needs to either shut down or step up because as a Canadian business they really are an embarrassment and a disappointment. Since I was in the area today, I decided to try this location out (Summerhill) as I have heard a lot of great reviews from Nadège in general. There is no seating area at this bakery however there are lots of baked goods from croissant sandwiches, chocolates to macarons of all sorts. Though the macarons aren't as big as the ones from Morroco Chocolat, they have flavors that I haven't seen at any other bakeries such as Cotton Candy. I was filling up my box of dozen with my favorites and was unsure about the infamous salted caramel because from what I've tasted, I didn't see the hype. The worker was kind enough to let me sample a whole one and I loved it! Nadège differentiates itself from fellow competitors by using good quality ingredients. All truffles are made with Valrhona chocolate, an artisan chocolate producer from the region of Rhone in France, and are paired with unique ingredients that are either locally sourced or imported from places like Iran, the US or Europe. Like their pistachio chocolate truffle, a tasty combination of pistachios brought straight from Iran, known for producing the best pistachios in the world, mixed with dark chocolate ganache. Or their rare and yet flavour-packed Roquefort and dark chocolate truffles. Made with blue cheese from France, dark chocolate and Grand Cru, the highest level denomination of grapes from the region of Alsace or Burgundy. With a very pronounced yet subtle cheese flavour, this chocolate had a nice sweet-to-savory balance. My favourite two from the pack ought to be the passion fruit with milk chocolate and the almond-praline with dark chocolate. The passion fruit had a nice sour taste balanced off with the creamy richness of the milk chocolate and perfect marriage of Grand Cru. On the other hand, the Almond-Praline kind, had nutty notes coupled with a rich texture from the dark chocolate ganache. Worth noting that the almonds used in this truffle are brought from California, known also as the best producer of almonds in the world. In addition to the perfect tiny chocolate creations, Nadège is now exploring the alphabet by bringing to store high-quality chocolate bar flavours inspired by distinct world ingredients. Like the "V" which uses Venezuelan cacao or the "T", which uses Thé Vert (green tea). Beyond taste, Nadège's unique eye for creation and design comes full circle with their integrated concept into every store sign, label, chocolate painted top and even their website. Awesome macaroons! We also tried a couple of their pastries: pistachio raspberry and chocolate croissant, both amazing as well. They had a long lineup when we arrived but it moved very quickly. The store is nicely decorated and staff very friendly. I usually go to butter avenue for macaroons, but this can be my new place since its closer to home :) They ran out of macha macaroons today. Out of the flavors we tried, we really like the mojito! It's minty, fresh, and not found anywhere else. Chocolate, rose, pistachio are also very nice. I went to Nadege during the last hour they opened to get a dozen of macarons. To my surprise, the texture was still spot on, and the filling was delicious; Nadege definitely doesn't cheap out on the filling. I'm not a big fan of macarons that are too sweet, but I found the ones Nadege has to be perfect. Since I visited the location during the last hour, I was expecting the quality to have decreased, but this was not the case. Nadege has some pretty unique flavours like the whiskey chocolate, and each flavour tastes amazing! Each macaron is a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny. I have a big sweet tooth, so when I walked by Nadege I instinctively turned back and went in. I had heard and read many great things about this place and it certainly lived up to the hype. My mandate on this afternoon was macarons, my friend and I decided to share a few. We shared the following flavours: cotton candy, pistachio, salted caramel, rose, and green tea. All the macarons had an excellent texture, the meringue was so crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, they were not overly sweet either. My favourite was the pistachio and cotton candy, which tasted exactly like the stuff you get at the fair. The rose macaron had a very subtle taste; I enjoyed that one as well. The salted caramel and green tea were disappointing. The salted caramel was a bit one dimensional, no distinctive salty flavour, just sweetness. The green tea, although having an intense flavour, was a bit too chewy and did not have the great texture of the others for some reason. The macarons were about $2.50 each or you can buy a dozen for around $26. In addition to macarons they also have a selection of pastries, croissants, and sandwiches all of which looked amazing. The girl working behind the counter was friendly and gladly answered all of our questions. Have not been to the Queen street location, but this one is perfectly close to my work. I picked up a box (12 pieces) macarons for the office as well as the Ambrosia cake (rhubarb compote...yummmmmmm) for a co-worker. Packaging is so lovely. This place also serves sandwiches and oh so delectable croissants of various varieties. Service is lovely and the store itself is very chique. I can see why everyone loves Nadege! read more

After visiting both the Queen Street location, and this one on Yonge, I prefer this location. This Yonge Street location is smaller but much friendlier and less hipster, which is a bonus in my books! Sorry hipsters! Even though I am - gasp! - not a fan of macarons, there are many beautiful and delicious treats to be had as well. For tiny bites of deliciousness, my current favourites are the Coffee, Cassis, and Lemon P'tit Chou. For cake - the Délice Framboise - is a raspberry lovers dream, with raspberry mousse, raspberry coulis, lemon chantilly, lemon jam all in an almond crust with fresh raspberries for decoration. Hubby loves the Canelé, which I refer to as caramelized french toast tubes, very custardy on the inside, and very crunchy chewy and caramelized on the outside. Everything in this shop is as much art as it is delicious, and the packaging is always adorable... and that much attention to detail means higher prices, but well worth it if you appreciate quality. Love this place! I have tried several pastries, cakes and macarons. My favourite treats are the caneles, madelines and the donut. It's absolutely scrumptious! I would love it better if they had a place to sit. read more

Shop is very clean and very nice and cute. Upscale feel. The woman who served me was super nice and friendly and helpful. She even gave me a free macaron to try. I haven't had a lot of different macarons so I don't have much to compare it to. I'm only comparing it to Whole Foods. At Whole Foods, it seems to me that it doesn't matter too much which 'colour' of macaron you get, they all taste pretty much the same. Nadege is WAY better than WF. The flavour you choose really shines and especially the cream filling is full of flavour. I chose vanilla, pistachio, and champagne and highly recommend those flavours. To me although the texture is so different it reminds me of eating ice cream. Once it melts in your mouth it really does feel and taste like you are eating ice cream. Yum. Perfect for gift shopping, favours or treats for a shower, or just treating yourself. I have given it 4 stars because if you are looking for a macaron shop, I don't believe it gets much better than this! Personally though, they were yummy but they fell short of being an amazing treat that I am going to crave. I will probably come back but might not be too often. I'm not sure that I'm 100% on the macaron train. They are good but maybe not my first pick when I want a yummy baked good. read more

Don't know how often do they deliver the products to this location( they produce all in the original location,from I know).The cake I had tasted a bit "fridgy",and macarons were very dry for some reason, definitely overrated since the chef is French and has tons of experience(I read about the chef on their website)... Whole store looks very clean and modern, a bit cold and distant for me, just like the service, not very welcoming. Hope they can keep up the quality as their pretty looks. read more

Everything is just delicious! Got some macaroons the other day and they were fresh and yummy. Can't go wrong with flavours either. Loved!
