    Chocolate croissant and iced Americano
    Helen H.

I was in the neighbourhood when I came across this adorable cafe. They have their treats displayed in the glass display at the front and their menu is posted outside as well. The shop is very small and can maybe fit 2 customers at a time. There is also no indoor seating. The staff are very friendly and upbeat. I got their iced Americano and chocolate croissant. The iced americano is average but still very good. The chocolate croissant was fresh and very crispy. Parking can be annoying here are it's street parking only. However, it's only a short walk away from Dufferin Station so it's very accessibe by TTC/

Purchased a custom red velvet cake for my friend's housewarming party. They have different sized cake options so I got the 6" for $26. They let you add writing for free on a plaque which is nice compared to other bakeries that charge you for that. My friends loved the cake and they said it was delicious! I would return to try a slice of their carrot cake (which I read is moist and amazing) if I'm back in the area.

Love this place! One of the best new addition in the Bloordale neighborhood in the recent years. The staff is always friendly and I've never had to wait too long for service. The baked goods are amazing (especially the cherry tarts) and the ice cream is one of my fav in the city. The space is a bit small, so I usually grab something to go when I come here - they have a few seats customers can sit, but it can get full pretty quickly and/or feel cramped a bit, so it's not the best café if you're looking for a space to have a meeting with someone or do school work or work on some stuff. As a few other reviews mentioned, the prices a bit more expensive than other cafés in the area - but then again, the baked goods and ice cream are AMAZING and since everything is made from scratch in-house and Home Baking isn't a chain, you have to expect to pay more money than you would in a chain like Starbucks or an in independent café that gets their baked good delivered from a factory. I personally don't mind the more expensive price tag, since I treat sweets as a special treat I get once in a while and not something I get regularly.

    Ice cream sammy!

I love hot summer days in Toronto when I can cool down with ice cream! Home bakery has delicious all-natural ingredient baked goods and ice cream sandwiches made with their own cookies. The burnt marshmallow ice cream is super popular! There are different types of fresh-baked cookies, including vegan and gluten-free options. I enjoyed my ice cream sammy, it was creamy, sweet, crunchy awesome. I couldn't help myself and bought a lemon tart as well! Definitely, stop by this cute bakery if you are in the neighborhood. Leave room for dessert - or a few! :)

Honestly a hole in the wall spot! Was walking down bloor looking for a coffee shop to chat with a friend and stumbled upon this hidden gem. It's small but really cute and cozy inside. I love that it's open late, I went there around 830pm. I had to try the ice cream cookie sandwich when I saw it and I was not disappointed. I got the peanut butter and chocolate flavour ice cream which was sandwiched in between 2 cookies. You got to choose the cookie flavour, size, and ice cream flavour. I got the half cookie size and it definitely was filling. Decently priced for what it is too! Definitely excited to come back and try all the other yummy ice cream flavours.

Seriously a hidden gem. I can't believe I've lived across this beauty for the past year, and only discovering it now. After trying out all the 'top' ice cream sammies joints last summer, I was convinced nothing could beat Baker's Bot. Alas, there's Home! Ironically, co-owned by the peeps of Baker's Bot. Not to mention, righttttt across the street. #Winning! The given name 'Home' suits the establishment very well. It's a warm, cozy, 'home-y' joint. (how clever, I know) The smell of their cakes and goodies baked from scratch, fills the entire room. You can't help but want to buy a bit of everything. Along with their unique teas, and espressos. For the home made icecreams, flavours consisted of: lemon meringue, sweet cream, peanut butter & jelly, cinnamon, French mint, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, strawberry, burnt marshmallow, and diary-free raspberry. The ice cream sandwiches are priced at $4/half, $7/full. Make note, their cakes are also available to order! Subject to 3 days advance notice. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Bloordale area.

A really cute dessert Cafe on bloor and Landsdown! The space is really pretty and cozy! We went in and ordered an ice cream sandwich! U can customize ur sandwich with the type of ice cream and cookies that u want! They have 5 different cookies and a good number of Ice cream flavours! We ordered the cookies and cream ice cream sandwich with a chocolate cookie on one side and a macadamia on the other! I personally would preferred the chocolate! The cookies were freshly baked In house which i liked! Nothing special with the service!

    Butter tart

Was walking along Bloor between Dufferin and Lansdowne a week ago. Decided to drop in as this place looked so cute from the outside. They make their baked goods from scratch. I had the butter tart and an iced vanilla latte. I opted for the butter tart with no raisins. I wouldn't say it was good. It was ok. I was craving something sweet and it hit the spot. The filling was a bit runny. The iced vanilla latte was ok as well. I may drop in if I am in the area. Apparently they are open till 8 pm everyday. They also make ice cream and gelato.

Really nice coffee/desert/ice cream gelato joint. Worth checking out.

The entrance is two sets of doors so no draft when people come in and out! They have a very extensive cocktail and wine menu. There are also plates du jour (an entree and dessert). I ordered the duck confit over crispy rice and orange sauce. My companions ordered the chicken with maitake mushrooms and the burger. We shared the crème brûlée and basque cheesecake. I really enjoyed my dish! The duck was cooked perfectly. Duck was moist and flavorful. The crispy rice gave it a nice texture and helped make it a more filling dish. The orange sauce is a classic pairing with duck. The basque cheesecake has some delicious cherries! But the cheesecake itself was a little more burnt than I personally prefer. The crème brûlée had a very thick caramelized layer on top. But the creme was smooth and sweet. It'd be a great spot for a date night. But those with sensitive ears should proceed with caution. For three people I think it was about $135 CAD maybe $160 CAD after tax and tip.

For me, atmosphere and ambiance are just as important as the food and drinks, so I was more than a little disappointed when we were shown to a small table right by the door. We were so close to the door, in fact, that I found myself making awkward eye contact with everyone that walked in. Far worse, our table was about six inches away from the table next to ours, which made private conversation impossible and essentially killed anything resembling an intimate vibe. Thankfully the food and drinks made up for the lackluster atmosphere. I started with one of their martinis and it was absolutely fantastic. If there's a better martini anywhere in the city, I'd be surprised. The food was just as good. We started with their delicious bread and delectable butter, and followed that up with the above-average French Onion Soup. The Bitter Greens Salad managed the impossible: it made radicchio delicious. And finally, the Steak Frites ended the meal on an absolutely jaw-dropping note. I can't remember when (or even if) I've ever had steak this flavorful and this tender. Absolutely incredible. Aside from the far-from-romantic feel, I very much enjoyed my meal at Milou. Maybe we'll return someday and I'll request a more intimate table.
