I ended up coming here twice while spending days at Universal. Each experience was quite different. I would suggest coming earlier in the day vs towards the end of the day as the earlier experience and food was better. I ate their Cuban each time. One lacked pork, but generally the taste was good. The bread was a little soft compared to other Cuban sandwiches I have had, but for what it was, it was good enough. On one visit, I had French fries, and on the other, I had tots. I preferred the taste of the tots over the French fries. Ketchup is rationed out, as you need to ask someone behind the counter for ketchup. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich for my daughter, which she enjoyed. It was 3 pieces of bread and had lots of cheesy goodness, which makes for a delicious grilled cheese. We waited quite a long time in long and to get our food but the wait was worth it. We got the bruschetta and BB sandwich. It was really good and fresh. A downfall is is that we only get 5 tater tot's but they were fresh so that's a plus. The inside of the restaurant was cold and clean which is why we didn't complain too much since we were out in the theme parks all day . And had a lot of room for our full party to sit. Super low crowd levels so we ordered quickly and got our food in less than ten minutes. The BLT Is incredible. The bread is sourdough I believe and has such nice flavor. The bacon is delicious and perfectly cooked with just a little chew, a good amount of lettuce and tomatoes, and I don't know what they put in their mayo but it has so much personality! Great seasoning, and it was so juicy and altogether just an amazing sandwich. Also I love the chips! They have a fun little spicy seasoning on them and you get a good portion with your sandwich. Excellent BLT! On a recent trip to Universal Orlando, we decided to try a place we haven't gone to before within City Walk. Breadbox is located on the second floor of City Walk and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the BLT on gluten free bread with Sichuan Ranch chips. The gluten free options were limited since most sandwiches are grilled on a shared cooktop. The bacon was abundant, the L and T were perfectly portioned and had just the right amount of mayo. The bread is nothing to write home about but held together well for being gf. The chips were crunchy, and the flavor was a nice compliment compared to being a plain potato chip. My husband had the turkey pastrami on regular bread and said it was also very good, that it just needed a little extra dijonnaise it was perfect. We honestly could have split a sandwich, the portions were big. The service was quick and friendly, plus knowledgeable about gluten. The restaurant was clean. We will return! read more

Enough to hear and enjoy it without preventing conversation. As for the wood. I tried the bbq chopped cheese. It's a sandwich made from ground meat, lettuce, fried oignon, tomato and a special.sauce served with sichuan chips. It was good! I tried the s'mores cookie. That was a big cookie, about a inch thick. Perfectly cookie, little crunchy on the outside but very soft inside. It was very delicious. My girlfriend tried de sishuan chicken sandwich. Portion sizes are great, very filling. I had a four cheese grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. The sandwiches are big I ate half and brought the other half home. Make sure you ask them for napkins and ketchup at the counter they do not have them at the tables. You order the food at register and they bring you your food which is nice. Then you can leave your dishes or put them next to the trash on your way out. They do have to go for the food but you have to ask them at the counter as well. So after a long two hours of walking around at Universal Zack and I decided to dine at a new place. This cute little café is called the bread box; they have soup, salad, and sandwiches galore! The sandwiches are ranged from $11-$13 per sandwich; they also have drinks that are refillable. What I like about this location is if you have a universal refillable cup they also let you refill at the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant is very brightly colored but also very modern. They have a little boots in the middle that are on swinging chairs. They have a couple beers and a couple chairs by the bar. They have these really cool lights up above the bar that are different types of bread. This evening I ordered at the shop and Zach got the patty melt with fries! If you have an allergy you just tell the person taking the order and they write it on a little piece of paper and hand it directly to the kitchen. read more

It took about 30 minutes, and we watched the staff work as fast as they could and handle all the chaos in stride! Bread Box has earned a spot on our must visit list while at Universal. Eating while at the parks is a delicate balance of having enough on your stomach to not feel queasy on the rides but not so much that you don't feel like riding anything at all. Splitting a sandwich at Bread Box is a great option for this reason. The sandwiches are large enough to share without being too heavy of a meal. And when splitting, it's a lot more budget friendly as well. The Nashville Hot and Hot Turkey sandwiches with a side of tater tots are our current favorites. I don't know where Universal properties source their tater tots but I would love to find some like these when back home! If you've ever had them, you will understand. They're so much better than traditional tots found elsewhere. We have also had the brisket sandwich on many previous visits and enjoyed it as well. The bread is always fresh and toasted perfectly. And they pile on the toppings. This place is obviously most busy around lunch so trying to go a little earlier or later can help avoid longer wait times. They also offer mobile ordering that you can order ahead and have delivered to your table. Unfortunately on our most recent visit, we noticed many of the menu items were not listed on there so we were not able to take advantage of this option this trip. read more

My family and I were getting ready to leave Universals Islands of Adventure and decided to order and pick up some sandwiches. My husband used the app and put in our order in advance so that it would be ready when we reached the restaurant on our way out. This worked out perfectly. I ordered the Grilled Ham and Swiss Melt which comes with shaved ham, cheddar, fontina, fresh mozzarella, peach jam, brioche. Stopped in early before we started our day at City Walk. The staff were courteous and quick to prepare our meal. The restaurant was clean and free of any debris or garbage. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich and it came out within 10 minutes. It was delicious and very filling. I couldn't eat the other half. These sandwiches are definitely shareable. I was with a family member that ended up having food go down the wrong pipe and she had a coughing fit. It's tucked up in the corner just before the food court with Moe's, Burger King and company, and in the same courtyard as the Hart and Huntington Tattoo shop, a fro-yo place, and certainly most memorable, behind Voodoo donuts. Well, bread box serves none other than... sandwiches! Made with bread! Amazing, right? They do have a good variety of flavors considering their main entree is the sandwich, however. There's also multiple kinds of bread to choose from. I got a ham and cheese with a peach jam inside. Surprised as I was, it was pretty darn good. The sweet of the peach jam actually offset the savory ham and cheese really really well. It's not a combo I would ever have thought of, but I may have to now! The store itself I absolutely loved. It was decorated in a clever way for a placed named the Bread Box, and we even sat at swinging chairs for our table. My good conscience couldn't quite give this 5 stars because of how weird (in a bad way) our service was. The cashier woman was clearly new at the job and was struggling, which is easily forgivable. That changes, however, when you are rude about your inability to adjust on the fly. Not cool, man. The Universal App makes it seem like ordering on the app would be quicker and more convenient so we did just that. Ordered four sandwiches to eat in. The app tells you to tell the "Host" that you've arrived and THEN they'll start making it. We ordered it before walking in at 6:00pm,the "host" when we walked in said " oh just have a seat it won't be long" So we sat...and waited... and waited....and waited while they served people who walked in after us and placed their orders after they walked in. We finally received our sandwiches at 6:25pm and the order was missing some items. I would rate this a 1 star but the sandwiches were actually very good, but the service, attitude of the staff and general lack of convenience for a feature touted as convenient let it down. read more
